Experiencia fantástica: We took the safety course this past weekend and learned so much. 8/10 people in our group were together. We had a mix of new riders, never been on a bike riders and some with experience. We ALL learned something and we all passed, thanks to the instructor’s guidance, constructive criticism and patience. The bikes we were on were old, but well maintained and made for a perfect learning bike that was small and easily managed. We all had our mishaps, but the instructors did a good job explaining what we did wrong. I love the fact that before each exercise they explained it, then one instructor would jump on a bike and show us what we should be doing, and then pull up on that bike and show us closely how they handled the bike. It gave us the perfect learning opportunity from all angles. I’m glad we got to go through MRT as I have heard horror stories of other safety courses in the area and the instructors really care about the safety that they are teaching us.
Experiencia negativa: I had to drive from Fort Wayne to Peru because they have no classes in Fort Wayne now. I was to meet at 6am in the dark. The address was the wrong address. Nobody else could find it so we waited until a guy showed up and made us follow him to an abandoned parking lot. Their motorcycles are about 35 years old, not joking. They’re junk. The bike I was given had a bad clutch and died. The “sidekick” said, “Oh yeah that’s the bike that needs fixed” and the instructor walked over and said, it’ll be just fine. The instructor was worse than the drill Sargent from Full Metal Jacket. I have bad ADHD. He told me to stop putting my hands on the steering wheel even though the bike was off. I was trying to concentrate on the difficult instructions and wasn’t paying attention therefore to him. He got in my face and SCREAMED right in face!!!! Remember, I paid in full for this class. They would take tiny little cones all over the parking lot so I was confused on which one to do first or second because they had 6-8 setup and they all looked the same. I’ve ridden racing 4 wheelers for years so I know how a clutch works. I complained about my bike and I was told to shut up. Why couldn’t they give me a different bike because I paid with MY money so I should get to choose the bike, not them. I skated by each obstacle when I wanted to tell them that all their damn courses look the same because they used Dollar Tree markers and setup way too many courses at once. I got to the last obstacle which was doing a pretty sharp U turn and exiting like a figure 8. There’s a professional motorcycle driver on YouTube that went to a course just to see how good he still was. He did fine but the instructor told him to try doing the U turn in 2nd gear because your bike won’t be as shaky and you can be more smooth on the clutch. So, at practice I was failing the U turn because I had a worthless bike with a bad clutch so it was jerky. So, I remembered the YouTube instructor and I did the U turn in 2nd gear and it worked!! So much better than 1st gear. I thought I passed and then found out we had to do everything one time for the instructor. I came into the U turn and did it fine but my points were docked and I was yelled at for not doing it in first gear. Why does it matter??!! I did it, that’s what matters!! He forced me to do it in 1st gear and I couldn’t. So, after wasting all day being treated like crap, out hundreds of dollars plus a hotel room and food, because they’ve advertised for years that they’re looking for a place in Fort Wayne. Not true. They’re trying to get customers from Fort Wayne like me. I went to Ehlerding and asked a bunch of questions. I learned that I would be driving a Harley. The guy promised to not yell at me and he also said there’s nothing wrong at all with doing a U Turn in 2nd gear. I easily passed his class and passed my test. Do NOT go to this crappy place in Peru. Maybe he was going through a divorce and losing his kids because that’s the way he treated me. Don’t waste your money or time on this crappy program. I believe they were kicked out of Fort Wayne because another approved place is where they used to be.
Experiencia fantástica: Highly recommend for anyone wanting to learn how to ride. At any skill level, you will learn something in the class. You might also hear some great stories from class mates.
Experiencia fantástica: So glad I took this class. Ed and Chris were great instructors. The instructional knowledge was second to none. They trained on actual day to day situational skills while insuring everyone stays safe. This class will help anyone no matter what your riding level is. I am a brand new rider and really needed a class like this not only for the instructional aspect but to get a better familiarization with PROPER RIDING skills. I know people that have paid twice as much and did not get half the training of this class.
Experiencia fantástica: Excellent class and would recommend to anyone that needs their endorsement, whether they have previous riding experience or not. I had zero riding experience coming into the class and was able to walk away confident in what I learned.
