Motorcycle Training - The best place in NJ to learn how to ride a motorcycle, further develop your riding skills and avoid a crash.

We are a NJ MVC-approved motorcycle safety training school. We offer a variety of motorcycle safety courses from mid-March to the end of October for those who want to learn how to ride a motorcycle, get a motorcycle license, further develop their riding skills & avoid a motorcycle crash. Due to the extremely high volume of phone calls we get daily (approximately 50), we use the services of a 24-hour, 7-day a week answering service. To answer all the inquiries as soon as possible, we will either return your call, send you an email or send you a text message.

We created a variety of tutorial and safety videos to help our students, prospective students & those who already ride a motorcycle. Click here to watch the videos or click on the YouTube logo.

We have a private Facebook group page for graduates of RANJ so they can ask motorcycle-related questions after taking the BRC1 to further develop their riding skills. Click here to join the group. Then click "Join". Your questions will be answered by one of our instructors. 

In NJ, you must have a restricted motorcycle license to ride a scooter that is greater than 50cc. If you already have a scooter that is greater than 50cc, you can use it for the BRC1 as long as it is registered and insured. More details about a scooter license are on the BRC1 page.

2. BMW USA in Woodcliff Lake, NJ selected The Riding Academy of NJ to send more than 50 of their corporate employees to learn how to ride and get their motorcycle license in August of 2022.

3. A grant from Investors Bank was awarded to The Riding Academy of NJ on 7/21/20 for being selected as the best motorcycle safety training school in NJ helping the community. Click here for more details.

4. The Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) recognized The Riding Academy of NJ as one of the most successful motorcycle safety training schools in the country. We discussed what we do at the annual MSF Convention in Ohio in September of 2019.

Our practice riding location in Lot 60 at MSU was the location of the opening scene in the 4/25/23 episode of the CBS TV show FBI MOST WANTED. The episode is titled "Bad Seed". Click here to see some pictures from the episode.

We first opened our doors in 2008. Our classroom location was Big Boyz Toy Box on Shady St. in Paterson and our practice riding/training location was at the KMart in Elmwood Park. When KMart lost its lease in 10/16, we relocated to the prestigious Montclair State University. Our new training location is easily accessible from several major highways; Rts. 3, 4, 7, 17, 19, 20, 21, 23, 46, 80, 287, GSP, NJ Turnpike. Our location is considered the best NJ MVC-approved motorcycle training site in NJ.

Our mission is to help reduce motorcycle crashes in the State of NJ. We provide a higher level of rider education than all the other MSF motorcycle safety training schools in the country. We are the gold standard for motorcycle safety training schools. We provide more benefits, features and options than any other motorcycle safety training school and we also provide our students with user-friendly training motorcycles supplied by the most reputable motorcycle dealerships in NJ. Maintaining these extra features and high standards cost money. Your support and contributions enable us to purchase the equipment and supplies needed to keep improving our program, maintain our high standards and carry out our mission.
