We selected our curriculum to not only meet the Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) course requirements but to better prepare our students as trucking professionals.

Currently, we are in the midst of a major truck driver shortage. The shortage currently stands at around 50,000 drivers now, but that number is expected to grow to 174,000 drivers by 2026. With the amount of freight that is transported by truck, it’s vital to the economy that we have enough truck drivers.

The American Trucking Association notes that it takes 3.5 million truck drivers to transport the amount of freight necessary for the economy to continue to move. Simply put, the country does not function without truck drivers.

Realizing an immediate unmet need, PTI was created to make a difference for prospective students in the trucking industry. With innovative thinking, intuitive instructional design, and selective collaboration PTI was founded.

Our professional truck driver program was created to offer 1-on-1 CDL training. This allows the instruction to be tailored to the student’s style of learning. The student will be actively learning and observing with their instructor, as we feel these are critical parts of the learning process.

To increase safety and better prepare students for the road, we realize it's important for students to learn and test in the vehicles they will be driving. Therefore, our program is designed to train students in vehicles that best suit their needs, not ours. In addition, we ensure there is no lag time between the students' training and their test date.

Our online training is structured for flexibility and requires student interaction. Participation in all online training can be done with a cell phone, tablet or home computer.

At PTI we believe, to increase safety and retention in the commercial driving industry, providing proper training from day one is essential. With our 1-on-1 training program, students receive individualized instruction geared toward their style of learning. By design, PTI students experience more time behind-the-wheel, to accelerate confidence and preparation for the road.

Without a doubt, we graduate drivers who will help their carrier lower insurance premiums, experience fewer Department of Transportation (DOT) audits and roadside inspections, to ultimately maintain a better CSA rating.
