Roadmaster Drivers School of Kansas City

Experiencia positiva: Drove by today for old times sake as I received my CDL training and license from that school last year in Oct of '22. It looks CLOSED ! Training yard was empty and nary a truck was there. Office facilty where classes were held looked dormant, no sign of school in sight. I am at a loss of words.. I am shocked !!!

Experiencia positiva: They staff was great and they really want you to succeed! I went to school never having been in a Class A vehicle and left 1 month later being able to parallel park it! The main reason it’s 4 stars vs 5 was the amount of down time waiting to drive and do maneuvers. With smaller class sizes this would be fixed and would get 5 stars for sure!

Experiencia positiva: Went to school here about a year ago. It’s good, but: 1. The cost is higher compared to other schools 2. They only have automatics, so having that restriction on my license is really holding me back with some career choices I’d like to make, so you’re paying MORE to have LESS career options. They just wanna lock you in to working for them (Werner) and paying interest on the overpriced school cost loan.

Experiencia fantástica: I loved my experience at Roadmaster in Kansas City! The school manager Billy is amazing at what he does and is involved with his students and their success. The instructors Tom and Bruno are amazing at what they do and will make sure you get your CDL. Would recommend this school to anyone that wants to get their CDL!

Josh, Martha, Billy, Rick, Dave, Chris, THOMAS, and Bruno are the greatest at what they do. I will miss them all and I’m truly grateful that they all have prepared me to be successful. I will recommend Roadmaster Kansas City to anyone interested in getting their CDL as I plan to send my son to be taught by the same group of fun but professional kind hearted people that taught me!

Experiencia fantástica: My experience was great the instructors was very helpful from the classroom to the pad great teachers all the way around I learnt a lot being in Roadmaster driving school I recommend it to anyone that's trying to get their CDL I went to the Roadmaster in Grandview Missouri sure the other ones is great too. Ps if you go too the one in Grandview Missouri make sure you learn the Bruno method

Experiencia fantástica: Friendly staffs/instructors. Great atmosphere to be. Alway willing to listen and help. Alway ready to do 1vs1 instructing to whom that need more attention. Great instructing and great skilled instructors. Got my 180hrs n dmv appointment sets. Did a one and done at the dmv ( passed ). Instructors will give all their tips and tricks from years of experience, and some of their great story from their OTR experiences. Alway a blast and super fun experience with great laughter’s. If you are willing to learn and committed to be a truck driver, they will get you there. If their is a will there is a way. Trust their process!! Listen to what they have to say, and you will not waste a minutes of your time and passed your test at the DMV like me with a one and done ( first try passed )!!!.

Experiencia fantástica: I learned so much and enjoyed my time!! All instructors were very helpful and honestly care for their students future in driving. They know everyone learns differently and they will make sure you are getting the skills down as you need them and ensuring you understand the steps as you go along. I was 100% new to truck driving and knew nothing about it, after my 4 weeks of training, I went to the DMV prepared and passed my tests on the first try!!

Experiencia fantástica: Martha, brunno, tom and josh. Were outstanding instructers. Very patient and very helpfull and willing to give you one on one attention if you need it.. i was a little worried at first but payed attention and studied, "Alot" if you do that everybody who goes threw this school will pass... its not easy but can be done . Study and pay attention even when someone else is in the truck. Do that and you'll pass.. oh and forgot to mention cris,,, outstanding instruckter and blessed to have learned from him.... thanks roadmaster...

Experiencia fantástica: Good experience at the school. Instructors are very knowledgeable with the trucking industry. Instructors are patient and will answer questions as needed. Be sure to pack for various weather conditions as you’ll be outside 90% of your stay. Good luck!

Experiencia fantástica: School manager Traci was on point and available to address any issues I had Martha was an excellent teacher who i could go to for help with any problem Chris and Mike were both excellent instructors and provided the simplest process possible for every maneuver and were also very knowledgeable in how to fix errors Josh and instructor extraordinaire mr Quincy Jones were both excellent road instructors who were very good at making you feel comfortable behind the wheel all staff and instructors were very helpful and their years of experience were apparent and most importantly they are talented teachers I would not have my cdl today if not for them

Experiencia fantástica: Great experience. I highly recommend this course. Chris, Scott, Quincy, and Josh are all excellent instructors with a passion to see you succeed. The training days are long and packed with lots of information and driving exercises that will completely prepare you for the CDL A exam. Each new day builds on the previous day's training and continues until you are ready for a visit with the State DMV to take the exam. Successful graduates are offered an opportunity talk with Werner Trucking and discuss job employment. A very positive experience for me.

The entire staff and all of the instructors are knowledgeable but what sets Roadmaster apart from other schools is that the instructors want you to be successful not only in class but on the road and after you graduate. Experiencia positiva: My original post was a bit harsh. No the pad is not ideal. When I joined the staffing was not there to help train. But mid way it was night and day difference. Quincy, Joe, and Chris were the best instructors there. They mixed their teaching with not only experience but humor. Myself and the classes before were placed on sap but thats only because we were past hours due to not having trainers at first which isnt our fault but we made it through. The Trainers I listed above if you are planning on joining. Stick with them and you will get out and on to your new career with the swiftness. And always remember the golden rule. Dont let someone who doesnt have their cdl tell you how to get a cdl.

Experiencia positiva: Good experience with great training. Very understaffed, they could use at least 1-2 more trainers available every day. Typically it was one trainer for every 7-10 guys practicing manuvers. I would have preferred more hands on help but they did the best with what they had. I was stuck on one manuver for 3 weeks which could have been prevented if there was more help available. The parking lot is in desperate need of being repaved. There are massive cracks and holes that make backing manuvers challenging especially in the rain. I understand that it's a financial concern but eventually they're going to have to get it done. Communication is an issue as well especially when it comes to filling out paper logs. The expectations for what was required weren't always made super clear. The requirement to continue attending school until we have tested and passed even if we have already fulfilled all of our service hours seemd a bit trivial and annoying to me but it didn't ruin the experience. It just drew it out and made passing the cdl more rewarding in the end. Overall I would recommend Roadmaster despite it's flaws, there aren't that many high paying career opportunities that you can enter into with as little as 3-5 weeks of training, especially not with tuition reimbursement which is an added bonus.

Experiencia negativa: Don't go there, they have UNCERTIFIED TEACHERS, THERE IS RACIAL MISTREATMENT OF THEIR MINORITY STUDENTS, AND SUBSTANDARD INSTRUCTION. IF YOU WENT THERE AND HAD A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE PLEASE MAKE A FORMAL COMPLAINT TO THE MO D.O.R CDL AUDITOR HER NAME IS KATHY BROWN, CALL THE MO HIGHWAY PATROL AND TELL THEM ABOUT K.C NUMEROUS VIOLATIONS, AND TO THE DEPT OF EDUCATION FOR POST SECONDARY SCHOOLS, ITS YOUR LIFE AND MINE OUT ON THE ROAD OUR SAFETY DEPENDS ON YOUR SKILL.THAT SCHOOL SHOULDN'T BE OPEN IF THERE'S SUBSTANDARD INSTRUCTION GOING ON SENDING DRIVERS OFF UNPREPARED.

I learned a lot of valuable information from Daniel Joy, if it was not for him, I don’t think I would have had the success that I did. The other instructors are great as well, but he spoke it to me in a way that I could understand better. I recommend this place. If you want any non-biased answers to any questions you have, I’ll gladly answer.

Experiencia fantástica: Very relaxed environment, they try to make you as comfortable as possible and answer any questions you might have about anything pertaining to the training. The staff with over 100 years of combined experience in the trucking industry are very knowledgeable and help you be as comfortable in the truck as possible so that you know you will be one of the safest drivers on the road after you graduate. I would highly recommend Roadmaster drivers school in Kansas city to anyone who wants to take on the adventure as a commercial driver
