Experiencia fantástica: Sage is a good school to attend. Everyone was very helpful and made sure I had everything I needed to be successful.

Experiencia positiva: Pros: -Instructors make this school. Crash, Frank, and Russell are great instructors with many years of experience. Clarence is a foul mouthed, cranky old man with no patience. -Plenty of time behind the wheel to practice and pass the DPS exam. -One on one driving sessions (mostly) Every now and then two students might need to be paired up due to low number of trucks. -Sage makes sure you are fully ready to pass the DPS exam. -Job recruiters will visit school and most students will walk away with at least several pre-employment offers. -DPS test is done on site and provided by the school. Cons: -Way too overpriced. There are several schools in the San Antonio area, and Sage is definitely one of the most expensive. Scholarships are available but you have to meet their criteria. -Student cohorts, which begin about every two weeks, are overfilled which leads to scheduling conflicts. SAGE likes to fill the cohorts with as many students as possible, with a limited amount of trucks and instructors so be ready to wait to graduate from anywhere to 3-4 months. CDL course is NOT 8 weeks as they claim. -Trucks are old and would not reasonably pass most DOT inspections. Overall, SAGE is not a bad place to acquire your CDL. The instructors are great and they will make sure you are ready for the DPS test and a career in trucking. The cost however is very high and there are many options in the San Antonio area which are more reasonably priced, but perhaps with less time behind the wheel. Ask plenty of questions and make the best decision to your needs. If you are in a hurry to get your CDL, then SAGE is not for you. For a quality experience, SAGE is the right place for you.

Experiencia fantástica: I got my CDL on January 29th 2023! Huge thank you to Mr Noel Smith, Candi, Russ, Clarence , Jesse, Crash, and Kevin. All of these fine individuals helped train me to be the best I can be. I truly appreciate all of the constructive feedback and also the praise that I received while training. If you are considering going to school here , DO IT. I highly recommend to leave your pride at home. Listen to every word your instructor tells you. The real work is done at home studying flash cards and etc. All of the instructors teach real world applications when driving. Ask plenty of questions if you do not understand something. The school also has a job board that they update weekly to help new drivers find employment. They also allow you to choose between a manual or automatic transmission. So don’t worry about anything! I pray that the San Antonio location will continue to see success and prosperity for many years to come. Thank you Sage, Micah Ball

I can only speak to my personal experience, but the SAGE SCHOOL (San Antonio Branch) was very professional and courteous from the moment I requested information about enrollment! Mrs. Candi was helpful, and willing to go the extra mile to ensure that all my questions regarding registration to graduation of the program were answered. Mr. Rudy ensured that when Mrs. Candi was out, I did not “Lull” in care or assistance. (And he always had a smile on his face.) Mrs. Candi and Mr. Rudy are huge assets to the SAGE SCHOOL (San Antonio Branch). As far as the instructors, they are very knowledgeable and very professional. I had the privilege to have Mr. Smith (school director) teach my in-class portion and he brought many, many years of experience to the class. His experience and wisdom is invaluable to the company. Mr. Russell, Mr. Clarence, Mr. Kevin, Mr. Cash, and Mr. Joey provided over 110 years of experience that only enhanced and enabled the SAGE SCHOOL experience! They may not have the most up to date building or equipment (and don’t worry, Mr. Smith is working on it) but they are the epitome of “Make Do With What You Have” and Professionalism! Experiencia fantástica: I really enjoyed my time at Sage. All of my drives were one on one with an instructor and I was able to really learn a lot in a short amount of time. Clarence Brown was a really great instructor! They also gave me many leads and I was able to find a job within a few weeks of getting my CDL. Highly recommended.

Experiencia positiva: Working with them now....ill post my review AFTER i take the course UPDATE: started the course ...im going to make this short and to the point...You know that parent that doesn't encouraged their kids to do the impossible or to follow their dreams no matter how tough the road may be? the parent that instantly discourages their own kids out of spite or maybe even a little envy ? the parent that doesn't instill hope in their kids ? yeah thats the Director of this program. He is utterly disrespectful BTS. Honestly just go in and get what you need and get out. Overall, I haven't had any extreme bad experiences only with the director. Everything is convenient to learn and pretty smooth sailing. Director just gives me entitled vibes.

Experiencia fantástica: Sage is a great place to get your CDL. The instructors are all very knowledgable, encouraging, offer a wealth of experience and they work really hard at helping you succeed. If you pay attention, ask questions when you don't understand, and show initiative, you will succeed here. The only thing that would have improved my learning was if there was less variability between some of the instructor's methods for backing maneuvers. While they all were all fantastic teachers, this made it a bit harder for me than it would have been otherwise. That being said, I still gave them 5 stars because I'm confident I walked away not just with my CDL, but a solid foundation to start my career in trucking. I learned what I needed to get me started and it was clear how much they care about their student's becoming safe and professional drivers and not just churning out licenses. I would recommend them to anyone wanting to get their CDL. Whatever you put into getting it here they will give back in equal measure in helping you meet your goal.

Experiencia negativa: The Trainers make this school run, Victor, Robert, Carlos and Crash. Noel, and Russell ( Russell who is a great guy) are 10- 15 years out of touch with reality and hearing. Noel thinks he knows everything doesn't listen and assumes he's always right even when he's wrong. Horrible Director. I have no respect for him. NONE. I can't help but ponder if he knows so much. Why can't he go out there and fix the outdated equipment that just sits, since he watches the petty cash he holds so dearly. It's understandable to have two or three outdated trucks. But a fleet of them GTFOH. The late great Ms. Delaughter has transitioned on and can not be replaced. That is painstakingly obvious. I miss her spirit and so does the school. Overpriced, it cost less in 2013 and you kept your CDL books. Now they charge more and have you use run down books that were used by covid students prior to you. Go figure. For the asking price they should be teaching ELD's(Electronic Logging Devices) Covid possibility super high. I wish them the very best in turning the atmosphere around to a more efficiently ran environment signed, Shifu Tha Student class of 2013 and 2021. Shoutout to Mr. Landeros. I speak no faults only an enthusiasm for this CDL Life most of us live. #PayTheTrainersMore

Experiencia fantástica: It's a good school and one thing why I picked Sage over road master is they all so have manual trucks which I will not have a restriction on my CDL for only automatic trucks I will be able to drive both manual and automatic trucks with road master you will have a automatic restriction which you will only be able to drive automatic trucks also the instructors are awsome and the big plus is its 1/2 the price of road masters

Candy walked me through step by step on all the administrative items and Noel is one of the best directors ever. He made everything look so easy. They have manual trucks which I will not have a restriction on my CDL for only automatic trucks. The student to instructor ratio behind the wheel is 1 on 1. I cannot say enough good things about this place.

But Gratefully to God, i landed just at the right school for my trucking career with Interactive and super experienced staff. So amazing instructors. My one month with SAGE was more than enough to master the pre-trip and all my maneuvers. So I DO NOT suggest but i Strongly Recommend SAGE at Saint Phillip's College for your trucking career. I think it should be for quality lovers and difference makers. This school deserves more than 5 stars. I can't over stress it. Go experience for yourself.

Experiencia fantástica: Started and finished in the month promised using my veteran benefits. Whole experience from the start to finish was more than pleasant. All the instructors brought different elements of specific skill sets and really seemed to enjoy teaching. Class moves quickly, you get what you put into it. I came in with ZERO experience and left with a CDL license and most importantly the comfort of knowing I’ll be equipped with the knowledge to begin my career. One on one driving training is perfect! What else could I ask for? Hats off to Candi in the office for always showing up with a smile and accommodating schedules.

Came back 19 month later for refresh and they gave me them free(the practise in the yard). Great hours behind the steer! One on one! Flexible schedule! Assisstance! Highly reccomended to everyone!

The instructors were personable, knowledgeable and great. Having no experience with big rigs of any type i was intimidated initially going in. But by the end of my time there I not only passed with my first attempt, I felt comfortable and familiar behind the wheel. Highly, highly recommended.

Experiencia fantástica: This school was great. The staff and instructors are easy going and humorous. They make the boring class hours fun and interesting. I was worried about the 44 hours of drive time not being enough time to fully grasp the backing maneuvers, but lo and behold, I ended up doing better than I thought I would. The instructors are patient when it comes to the backing. They will teach you the tips and tricks to make it happen. They work 1 on 1 when it comes to driving. No group slip seating. If you're considering a trucking school then this is the place to be. I graduated with my Class A license and I couldn't be happier.

From Mr. Smith and Monica to the instructors (Daniel, Leroy, Karl, and David), I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to assist and teach me what it takes to become a truck driver today and pass the CDL skills test. Experiencia fantástica: Sage is amazing! They literally just helped me make a miracle happen! I am a contractor, and the company I contract with gave me 3 weeks to get a CDL. I started at a different school, but they weren't teaching me much in an 8 hour day. I called Sage with 2.5 weeks left and they said they could help me and give me one-on-one training in the truck. Today, 2.5 weeks later, I took the test at DPS and I passed. You can't go wrong with Sage, and the one-on-one training in the truck is priceless. If you want your CDL, and your willing to put the time in to learn everything you need to know, you'll get it with Sage. It was worth every dollar i spent. Thank you Sage! I mean, really, it was Monica that set everything up at the school and DPS, Noel that taught me how to drive, and Daniel that taught me how to shift and fine tuned my driving. I owe you guys! I can't say Thank You enough!

Experiencia fantástica: Great School!!! I graduated Jan 21st 2016 rite after passing my DPS Driving Test. The secretary Monica will get you in regardless of how much of a struggle you make for her, if she sees that you truly want to attend SAGE she will make sure you have a secure spot within the classroom. I say that because she had to push my start date back about 4 times in order for me to attend due to delayed records and DOT tests on my part, but when I finally got everything situated she made sure I was ready to start that following Monday. Throughout each class day you learn something different, and sometimes recruiters from major companies show up to speak and tell you about their company and how they love to hire SAGE's students. The bosses name at SAGE is Noel, he owns all of the trucks you'll be driving within their perimeters and on the road so he makes sure their kept in running condition, once you meet him he'll be like an uncle to you. All of their instructors as well as Noel have over a million miles under their belt so they know the roads and road rules. Each instructor is friendly and courteous to your needs so you can tell they want you to succeed and not just throw you to the streets without the proper know how. They help you find a job by sending applications to one or more of the companies of your choosing or the ones they provide you, I put in 3 applications and got a call back from each company. Once you've graduated it is highly likely you will have a job if not you will already be in whats like a Job Placement program where they continue trying to find you jobs till your behind a wheel. My experience at SAGE was great, I met plenty of good friends and ate a few big meals thanks to those friends, if your in the San Antonio area and would like the proper training to receive your CDL's I highly recommend SAGE's Truck Driving school.

Experiencia fantástica: If you want to learn how to drive an 18 wheeler AND for sure pass your CDL road test, then look no further. Almost half the cost of the big name guys that start with 'R' and end in master; you get one on one training with some great, experienced instructors. Just do exactly as you are told and you will pass. I got my CDL in less than 3 weeks with SAGE in San Antonio, TX!
