Ready, Set, Drive!, Driving School

This course is created for individuals under the age of 25 who have gotten their license suspended. This course meets the state requirements for individuals to reinstate their license.

After completion of the driver's education class and driving lessons, fulfilling 50 hours of driving practice with a parent/guardian or adult, holding your permit for 9 months and having turned 16 years of age you are eligible to take the road exam to get your driver's license.

Illinois requires you complete 30 hours of classroom and 12 hours of driving instruction. The 12 hours compromise of 6 hours of driving and 6 hours of observing another student being instructed---our Red Teen Package. The alternative to the 12 hours would be to take 8 hours of private lessons---our Blue Teen Package.

1.)Certified copy of your birth certificate or valid passport or a state ID. 2.)Your social security card. 3.)two proofs of residency, eg. Last report card, last bank statement, utility bill (parent can vouch you live there). 4.)Pay a $20 fee. No problem, please let your instructor know and they will arrange a time for you to make it up. You are allowed to miss up to four classes, but they must be made up. If you miss more than 4 you will be unenrolled and there will be a $150 re-enrollment fee.

From the first day of class you have 9 months to complete all your classroom and BTW sessions. Your permit is valid for two years as long as you are in a driver's education program or you have completed the driver's education program. State requires completion of program within 9 months or you may have to retake the program and have your permit revoked.

Yes, if you do not have your original permit with you, you are not licensed to operate a car. If you do not have it with you for a BTW we will not be able to do the drive and you will be charged a "no-show" fee.

If you need to change your drive you must give us 72 hours' notice so we can fill your spot. If you cancel within that time frame or you do not show up for the lesson you will be assessed a $50 fee. After you pay your fee you will have to book another BTW.

A deposit is required to enroll in class, it can be paid by credit card when you enroll online. The balance is due the first day of class, you can pay by credit card, check or cash. If you wish to pay your deposit by check or cash you will need to come into our office and enroll in person. The deposit is not refundable, but it is transferable. We try to be as flexible as possible with our BTW scheduling but we must keep to a strict schedule so each student can complete their drives in a timely fashion.

Which areas we cater to: We accept students from all neighboring schools, including Conant, Schaumburg, Hoffman Estates, Palatine, Fremd, Lake Park, Viator, Rolling Meadows, Barrington, and Elk Grove High schools. We are a convenient walking distance from Conant high school and a short drive from neighboring High Schools. We offer convenient classes structured around the High School schedule. We offer weekly afternoon and evening classes and Sunday classes throughout the school year.

Convenience: Complete driver's education with ease and build the confidence necessary to become a safe driving member of the community. Our instructor's are committed to teaching our student's proper safety techniques to help them excel in their future endeavors. We want to provide safety training to all students by concentrating on how to execute good choices behind the wheel.

Curriculum: We have a well-rounded curriculum that centers around topics such as the Illinois rules of the road, defensive driving techniques, road rage, distracted driving, and the perils of drug and alcohol use while driving. We have support and cooperation from local police departments and officers that offer their time to come to our classes to present safety skills and the consequences of distracted driving.

Ready Set Drive has structured a great curriculum that will benefit each and every student. We promise to save the community and will go above and beyond for each one of our students. The students' education and safety training come first to us.

Joan Czarnecki has been a teacher for 13 years and a driving instructor for 4 years. As a Mother of four and a Junior High teacher, Mrs. Czarnecki, knows all too well the stress that is involved with balancing multiple hectic school and sports schedules. She understands, from first hand experience, the stresses of sports and extracurricular activity schedules for both students and parents. Joan opened her business with the aspiration to help mitigate the stress of student's schedules by offering a no stress driver's education program tailored to each student's individual needs.
