Experiencia fantástica: This is Andrew, and I want to express my deepest thanks to Mr. T and Mr. Tony. These two incredible instructors were the most patient, understanding, and informative individuals I’ve had the pleasure of working with during my behind-the-wheel training. A little background about me: I was diagnosed with autism at an early age, and for a long time, I wasn’t sure if driving was something I could ever achieve. My future in this area felt uncertain. After completing the Aceable online course a couple of years ago, I went on to get my driving permit with my mom’s help, and we began practicing. Between September and early November 2024, I started my driving lessons with this school. I worked mostly with Tony, who gave me invaluable tips and explained the reasoning behind each one. His approach reminded me of a wise elder passing down knowledge to the next generation. He wasn’t just teaching me how to drive; he was giving me the confidence and tools to succeed. One moment that really stood out to me was when we practiced parallel parking. It was extremely challenging at first, but with Tony’s support and determination, I was able to master it. By the end, I successfully parked five times with precision—within 3 to 6 inches of the curb! Tony told me he was 1,000% confident that I would pass my driving test, and he was right. On the Monday before Thanksgiving, I passed! Now, I’m on my way to getting my driver’s license next February. To anyone reading this—especially parents of autistic children—I wholeheartedly recommend West Plano Driving School. As someone on the autism spectrum who trained here and passed my driving test, I can confidently say this is the place to help your child gain the skills and confidence they need to succeed. And to my fellow autistic individuals: don’t give up. You are capable of achieving incredible things. Driving might feel overwhelming at first, but with dedication, practice, and the right guidance, you can accomplish this goal. Push past your fears, ask questions, and use the resources available to you. Remember, autism doesn’t define you—your determination does. Thank you, Mr. T and Mr. Tony, for everything.
