Experiencia fantástica: The best driving school! I passed the driving test here.

Experiencia negativa: I'm stopping by to share my experience with this crew of scammers and to warn anyone who hasn't encountered them yet. Last year 2024, on November 28th, I booked a road test for $85 at the Menchaca location. The amount was immediately charged to my card. When I realized I couldn’t make it, I called and canceled within the required time, following their cancellation policy. They assured me that my refund would be processed, but to this day, I have not received my money back. Every time I call, the person responsible for handling refunds is conveniently unavailable. The last time I called, they even provided a fake email address for refund inquiries. I even attempted to reschedule using the amount they refuse to return, but that didn’t work either. So, here’s my warning: if you plan to take a test with them, make absolutely sure you can make it—because that money is never coming back. If you have the option to go with another school, do yourself a favor and do so. This is the worst place to do business with. I wouldn’t recommend it in a million years. Their customer service is awful—and I work in customer service, so I understand the challenges, but these people are just a dishonest group of scammers. Thank you for reading, and I hope this helps!

Experiencia fantástica: I can't explain how happy and thankful I am with Austin Driving School! I made the HORRIBLE mistake of going to Pflugerville Driving School where according to them, not being able to parallel park is an automatic fail. My son lost all of his confidence in driving because the other school. When I called Austin Driving School on a Monday, they were able to get him in for his road test that Thursday. The people in the office were so friendly, upbeat, and really encouraging! They let him know that parallel parking isn't an automatic fail and told him he would do great! My son took the test and got a 90 on his first try with them! The office staff REALLY pumped him up for his test and I cannot express how much I appreciated that!

Experiencia fantástica: I took a driving test here since I couldn't get an appointment at DMV.The people there were so nice and helpful. And the instructor who tested me, I think his name was Mr.Brown, was very kind. He was patient and it was a peaceful experience. As a very anxious person, he was the best. I passed my test, but to be honest, I didn't do a great job since I was nervous, and I didn't get great marks. Nevertheless, 10/10, recommend this place. You can schedule it by calling them , though you have to pay it on the spot, so either you go pay at the office or on the phone and you can reschedule it as well. Also, have all the documents necessary when you take a driving test there. The email will tell you what you need but if you're not sure, call and ask them, coz I saw people who took a long time and made others wait coz they didn't have documents ready. Hope this helps to someone.

Experiencia fantástica: i loved this place so much! the driving instructors were so sweet and i really appreciated how patient they were with me as i was very nervous. they even gave me a few words of encouragement :) the lady that schedules appointments (and such) at the desk closest to the window was so friendly and went out of her way to help squeeze me in for a second appointment after something had expired the first time i attempted to test.

Their prices are reasonable as well. All staff members were very kind. This is the best driving school in Austin. Hilghly recommended.

Experiencia fantástica: Awesome experience. I came here for road test with pre test. In the pre test the instructor will show around the actual test route and the instructor was super helpful in showing all the signs and what I need and not to do and at the end of the pre test he also helped me to do parallel parking 3 times. The pre test made me very comfortable. Then the actual road test was a just a breeze and I passed the test. I am not sure why others had a bad experience, but for me it was just an amazing experience, every staff members were very cheerful. The fees were very cheaper than other schools who charge for the same package around $300. At Austin driving school it was just $140 for pre test ($70) + road test($70). Just call and book an appointment like a week before and pay the fees after everything is done. Thanks a lot for the receptionist and my instructor for making this smoother. Highly recommend this school.

Experiencia negativa: Good luck trying to get your kids driving times scheduled.... We started and finished class time 8 months before our kids 16th birthday and we still can't get the "driving class time" done in time. The purposely drag it out as long as possible. Telling us you can only have one 2hr drive session in a month. They need 20 hrs worth total. So my kid won't be able to get her DL in time with all the school functions they have a. Which is why we signed her up during the summer time and WAY in advance. Not to mention that my kid comes out of the classes saying how they did zero discussions about driving and the instructors just tell random stories instead of talking about driving. I want my kids to be safe out there in the road, not killed because they don't want to do their jobs! I went to ADS at 16 and that's why I wanted my kid to do the same... Bad decision on my part because clearly things are not the same as the used to be.

Experiencia negativa: DO NOT PAY FOR THIS SERVICE. I paid for the top package,all inclusive, only to learn later that I would still have to pay them another $70 for the driving test! I also bought this package for the advertised "will pick up your kid from school", but inconveniently they stopped that service, thus I still paid the same dollar value for docking my working hours. By this, I mean I had to leave work early to make it in time to pick up my son from school and dash across town before 5 pm. Note that they say they gave a 10 min grace period, but we arrived 8 min late once, and the class left without him. Scheduling was a nightmare!! One time they sent a reminder that didn't even belong to me threatening that if I no show I get charged so I had stop what I was doing to fix that because the message had a different child's name. You are told to call at specific times on certain days, and the phone just and rings. I am a working parent, making this weird call us only after this time on these days really difficult & I would have to use my whole break trying to schedule his next lesson. It's a confusing process of never ending Scheduling leading to dead ends because they forgot to mention this or that. They are extremely disorganized. In the end, my conclusion is that this is a scammy, disorganized organization that harnesses bullying methods because they say pay us $70 or good luck getting it done with DPS. I was left feeling ripped off, having paid the premium package, and still demanded to pay more.

This says it all, then I had an appointment for my daughter's license permission and they sent me with the erroneous information, they hire individuals and probably don't even train them, and have no idea what they're doing. They not only make me miss a day of work and DPS Appointment are booked so far in advance And they are unlikely to care about this review! Please go somewhere else!

Experiencia negativa: You would be better off burning your money, the heat from the fire is way better then anything you can expect from this place. If you complain to the guy teaching the kids, he will go back into the room and mock you relentlessly ( I have video of him mocking parents behind their back in front of kids). Most of the time he isn’t even talking about driving, just running his mouth about anyone and everyone else. Whoever is in charge of scheduling drive times and answering phones can’t do either. Messages aren’t returned, and even IF You can get something scheduled, they mess that up too and you either don’t have a time or they give you a time that was never discussed. I’ve never seen a business run this poorly in my entire life. 1 star only because I don’t have a choice for less. Tried calling the corporate number and get the same lack of response. PLEASE take your child anywhere else, learn from my mistake! Those that speak of a positive experience, I can’t remotely imagine how you got so lucky.

I’ve enrolled my daughter for driving lessons and since than everytime we need to talk to them simply to set up schedule for driving practice after she’s done with her lessons, we have to waste our time first trying to call because no one ever answers, and waste more time to everytime drive there only to speak with the receptionist who is super rude, not helpful at all, and when we ask her why she doesn’t answer she simply said because she’s busy, as if other people are not busy and have nothing to do but drive there and waste their time! of course the whole time we were there other poor people were calling and she never picked up not even one call!What the heck is her job if not answering the phone and helping people? For god’s sake hiring someone to answer the phone!!!!!!

The road test I took was very comfortable and the instructor was calm and kind and very professional during my test which helped me so much!! I was soooooo nervous and scared but he put me at.ease. and helped me with being successful with Parrell parking. Great place great people!!! I will be bringing my son here when he is old enough to get his permit and driver's license!!! There website is easy to handle as well. They answer the phone.right off of he bat. They work with you on testing and make sure you have everything you will need. Thank you so much for helping me get my driver's license.

I really felt comfortable while taking my test and I really appreciated how the instructor asked how my day was, and we had some small talk about school. I 100% recommend this place because they erase the initial fears of a driver’s test. I was initially concerned about how I was not able to use my own card for the test, but the card they provided for me to use was actually easier to drive, menuever, and stop.

Experiencia negativa: Registered a teen for the full driver’s education package (in-class course & 7 hours driving with coach/7 hours observing driving). Without notice, not even in the class the night prior, class was canceled. In addition, classes were extended for a full week, without input from the students, in order for the school to avoid students having to make-up for classes they miss due to football games/prior obligations on Friday nights. The receptionist for scheduling driving appointments is lacking even the most basic customer service skills such as a smile, saying thank you, and apologizing for the SEVERELY limited availability of driving appointments. Even being there, in person, as the appointment schedule is printing or “calling at 11 AM” every Monday (per the receptionist), if you’re trying to get a driving appointment for your teen, just plan on your 14 hours (that you paid for) being completed in no less than 6 months… unless you pull them out of school to get one of several day appointments. Overall, seems to be a good program. A better experience might have been at a different Austin Driving School location.

Experiencia fantástica: Such a great experience! the hardest part was getting driving times in, but if you come before they get super busy (july and august) and are proactive about getting driving times, it's really easy. Mr. Jackson genuinely cares about helping the people who come in and was a great teacher to learn from! He also went out of his way to make sure I got a driving test in before they got super busy. Being able to take the driving test in the area you've done your driving times in is also extremely helpful.

While trying to reschedule told them I was unable to do following day because of my daughter 1st birthday. Finally, I arrived and was asked how my daughter bday was " she remembered how thoughtful". I was able to take my lesson and test together and passed with flying colors thanks to instructor. Definitely recommend coming to this RoundRock location.

They made me feel comfortable and confident. I had taken classes elsewhere before I learned about this school, but I was still able to take my test here w/o having been their student, which was really great of them!

You literally have to call everyday and ask for an available time and they tell you the schedule is full and you have to call back when the new schedule is available but they can’t tell you when that will be.

Experiencia negativa: We prepaid for driving lessons and they never have availability. What is worse, is they can never tell me when they will know when there is availability. How is that possible? They consistently tell me to call when the new schedule comes out, but they don't even know when they will get the schedule. I am literally supposed to call every morning to see if they have the new schedule. In six months, we have only been able to get our son on the schedule 3 times for driving lessons

Experiencia negativa: ADS RR staff is quite helpful but their bill payment system is quite traditional, as they provide handwritten / paper based receipts, which should be substituted by automated / computer based system.

Experiencia negativa: The guy that took my daughter was impatient. He wanted her to hurry up while she was adjusting her mirrors. A most important first step when you are in a strange car. He never introduced himself and it just went on in the rushed manner he started. She passed but felt that she was not fairly evaluated. I assume they are paid per person and that was the rush. If you are just looking to do the test, there are many other places to choose from - I suggest you do just that. If you are a high school student and looking for convenience to walk to - this is within those parameters,

Experiencia negativa: I went to ADS's website for information and found the Round Rock location info. I called the number on that page, and called it for more info. I spoke to someone who was not extremely helpful, and after I told her all the pertinent info, she asked why I wanted to book with them and not Round Rock. I thought I had called the RR location, but she informed me that the number on the page route to the corporate office in Austin. She gave me the RR number. I called the RR location, and the person who answered was very short with me. I asked about valet service (pick-up/ drop-off from your location), and she told me it's not available during the summer. I asked about evening availability, and she told me I had to come in to sign a contract. I asked again if evening are available at all, and she told me not this week or for the next two weeks. Again, she mentioned coming in to sign a contract, but didn't bother to tell me what their hours are or anything else that might have been helpful. Basically, both phone conversations felt like they really didn't want my business, so I'll be looking for another driving school. They could really use some customer service phone training.

Experiencia fantástica: I had an amazing experience at this location! Quick process, they have good availability regarding dates and times, even some Saturdays. My instructor was Mr. Scott, and I really appreciate his conduct! Very nice and friendly evaluator. I didn't know about how you can test for the DL with third party driving schools and honestly, it was so worth the price! No waiting in lines, no confusion with documents. They were very clear about what I needed to bring, etc. I definitely recommend this driving school!

Experiencia fantástica: This review is for their DPS road test- I took the test with them but not any classes, so keep that in mind! Super friendly staff, everyone is talkative and always has a smile on their face. I was able to schedule a same-day test whereas the DPS office was asking for at least a month. I even woke up early and got to the DPS super early but they don't do walk in tests anymore! Not since 2016, so if you need a drive test you NEED to schedule it in advance- or take it with Austin Driving School! All that stressing out in the morning was totally unnecessary, when I showed up at their Round Rock location I felt very welcome and the test went great. Keep in mind that you will be using one of their vehicles, so there will be no need to have yours inspected. The parallel parking is also at the end of the test so you will have a chance to get used to the car first. As I stated at the start, I dunno how their classroom portion is but I can recommend you take your road test with them, it's so much nicer than the DPS location. I thought I'd have to wait a month to take the test but ended up doing it that very day and I just got my license!

Experiencia fantástica: I failed the parallel parking portion of my driving test at the DPS office. After I returned home, I found out that the next available appointment was OVER ONE MONTH away. However, I was able to pass the whole test at the Austin Driving School the same day I failed my first test. I walked in, and the staff made a same-day appointment for me. I was walking out with my completed DPS test packet within an hour. The staff and insructers are very friendly and accommodating even on their busiest day (which is Friday). I would highly recomend This location!

Experiencia negativa: If ZERO stars was an option, that's where I'd rank Austin Driving School. Their operation stinks... it's a clown show over there. PLEASE STEER CLEAR OF THIS OUTFIT. You'd think with all the inexpensive options for web technologies, they'd be able to optimize their operations (how about an online scheduling system people???). But no... they fail. Scheduling drive time requires one to call their office. Expect to be on hold for 10-15 minutes. Also expect their drive schedule to be booked. Further, expect them to not have a schedule published for the following week - they'll ask you to call back in a couple of days to check again. Then when you call back, they still won't have a schedule ready. Like I said, a sad clown show....

Experiencia positiva: Wanted to tell you how much we appreciate the scheduling help for 3 young men coming from the Taylor area to attend the Austin Driving school in Round Rock. We used this school for all three phases - classroom instruction, driving/observation hours and driving test. Riley Clark was amazing -she was very patient and worked with me on numerous occasions in challenging schedule times, always professional and got it done! Ms. Hampton was one of the favorite driving/observation instructors. Coach Andy Jackson was also amazing - he was another favorite for the driving/observation hours for our "group" and he was always very willing to work with us, - very knowledgeable in the driving element, but also in the process for getting necessary forms/paperwork. My son took the driving test with him as well and he took the time to help us with all the forms. It is obvious he enjoys his job and enjoys interacting with the teen drivers.
