We’re more than just your local driving school. Excel is a 35-year-old family business, that has come to be regarded as an industry leader. We help to put scores of new teens and adults on the road everyday with a simple mission: provide students with the highest quality driver’s education, which means arming them with the knowledge to be responsible, well-grounded stewards of our rough and tumble roadways.

We provide an up-to-date curriculum that goes beyond the minimal state requirements, convenient locations with a modern classroom setting, and flexible schedules at an affordable price. We also strive to instill peace of mind, making sure to stay actively engaged throughout the process. Here, you will graduate with the knowledge to be a safe, defensive, courteous driver.

No two students are alike. Knowing this, Excel Driving School has programs designed to meet any student’’s needs. We offer convenient, customizable packages that start with the Illinois state required basics and can be designed to meet the needs of all learners.

Whether you just want to refresh your skills, are a first time driver, or a nervous wreck when it comes to getting behind the wheel, we’ will help you gain the freedom you want and deserve.

We are constantly growing and now offer several convenient locations to better serve customers. Our classrooms are specifically placed near high schools, making it convenient for students who prefer to walk or ride their bike, saving precious time for parents with busy schedules.

Excel Driving School is approved to administer the Cooperative Driver Test (DMV Road Test) for all students enrolled in the Teen Driver’s Ed Program. Students under the age of 18 can purchase the Co-op Driver Test as an add-on to their package, to be administered by a certified Excel Driving Coach after completing their state required program (conditions apply). If successful, students will receive digital documentation showing completion of the driving exam, allowing them to skip the road test at the DMV when applying for a driver’s license.

Experiencia fantástica: Mrs.Amanda was absolutely amazing to drive with. Super chill. Rather then yelling at you after making a mistake she teaches you how to not make it again.

Experiencia negativa: Your instructor is rude and does not practice safe driving (tailgating and speeding) when driving by themselves

Experiencia fantástica: Class act all the way! The instructors are well equipped to work with all the different types of students they receive. The owner (Kim P) takes the time to pair students thoughtfully with the on the road driver. Very responsive to calls, emails and texts. Highly recommend! And it is surrounded by a cookie store and cheesecake store! Makes waiting for your teen's class to end very enjoyable (and delicious).

Experiencia fantástica: Excel did a wonderful job preparing our daughter for being a good driver! Miss Amanda was the perfect person to help her with her in person driving as she was calm, knowledgeable, helpful, and encouraging. Our daughter became a great driver with her help, and she is prepared to drive off on her own.

Experiencia fantástica: My daughter attended this driving school and it was just what she needed. She learned all the necessary skills and was able to pass her driving test the day after her Sweet 16. What a wonderful present and accomplish for herself. Amanda was awesome and very accommodating with her driving schedule. Definitely would recommend!!!
