The day one of your academy visits we will assign you a username and password to our online theory so you can complete all of our 31-chapter video and then complete your ELDT portion. A certificate of completion will be given to you

1st Choice CDL Academy does not offer so-called “free” or “company-sponsored” CDL training. Some schools and carriers advertise this training at no cost to the student. However, those programs require you to sign a contract allowing them to deduct fees from your paycheck and agree to work for them for approximately 1 or 2 years.

All of 1st Choice CDL Academy’s nationwide locations follow strict training and safety guidelines. You will need to complete 80 training hours in order to qualify for your Class A CDL license. Here is a look at the training that you will receive during that time at 1st Choice CDL Academy.

To be eligible for a CDL you must be at least 18 years old, have a valid Texas driver’s license and pass a D.O.T Physical Exam. We will schedule your dot physical exam appointment at our academy.

After completing your ELDT portion from 1st Choice CDL Academy, you will schedule an appointment for DPS to take the 4 required multiple-choice tests of Texas Special Requirements, General Vehicles (class A only), and Air knowledge, Combination breaks. You must obtain 80+ on each test to receive the CLP

1st Choice CDL Academy will train you for 2 straight weeks in order for you to pass your Road Test. We will work with you on Pre-Trip Inspection , straight backing , Offset Backing, Parallel Parking,and public road drive.

I just passed and got CDL today. I couldn’t believe that I made it. All I did was just followed Neil’s direction. I focused again and again to keep remember Neil’s instruction then I passed. Needed to get my Hazmat Endorsement but didn’t know I had to take a course on it through a school from what I was told at the DPS, looked up these guys and I’m glad I did, I called and within 10 mins I was already taking the course at my home online! And now I have my Hazmat Endorsement. 10/10 customer service!

Best and fastest way to acquire your cdl. Mr. Neil is the most nicest and realist instructor anyone can ask for! First two days so far as of 11/22/22 and I have never experienced such a welcoming group of class members, thanks to Mr. Neil for making our class feel likehome when we are in campus and training grounds. 1st Choice is well structured and well run, there’s no BS. Pay attention, do some studying, follow the methods and you’ll have your CDL on the 1st try.
