Easy as 123 Driving School: Reviews
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this driving school. We have used them for both of my daughters and they are always happy with the driving classes. My daughters say that Darryl is patient and calm during the driving sessions.
Fantastic experience: I purchased 3 sessions of 2hour behind the wheel lessons and my instructor was Darryl. I think he is a professional instructor and his lessons were easy to understand and explains from A to Z. He was calm and easy going and let the learner be comfortable throughout the lesson. If he is not a professional instructor, I would have not pass the test with "0" errors. Thank you for your professionalism and I would like to inform all learners to have trust on Darryl as an experience instructor.
Fantastic experience: Amazing help from darryl he was friendly and not stressful on the drive, if you are doing anything wrong he will tell you in a calm and nice manner. You should check their yelp reviews they are more accurate.
Negative experience: I purchased a 6 hour driving course. My instructor was another man not the owner and he was very unprofessional. He flirted with me (I’m a minor), made weird remarks, didn’t teach me any of the driving basics, and would just talk about random topics instead of helping me drive. This went on for my 2 driving lessons (4 hours) which resulted in no learning at all and instead of me feeling very uncomfortable. I finally planned to schedule my 3rd driving lesson, and this time it was with Daryl, the owner. He explained the other man quit and their were many complaints about him, which made me confused how this man could be a driving instructor, did he not get tested or anything like that. After my lesson I called Daryl asking for 2 more lessons because due to instructor it was a waste of time and 350$, instead he said, “yeah sorry honey I can’t do that” and laughed at me. What a waste of time and money. DO NOT buy a course from this man he’s unsympathetic and unprofessional.
This is Darryl. I am the owner of Easy as123 Driving School. I did the 3rd lesson with this student. When the student first got into the car , I asked her how was the previous instructor, and what she had done on the previous lessons. Her reply was the previous instructor was good. She also told me they had worked on turns and driving on the streets with traffic. I then asked how much practice she had done since her last lesson. She replied "None, no one in my family has time".
Her lessons where scheduled one week apart from each other (which is never recommended, a new driver needs time to practice) . The last lesson was moved for two weeks because of the rain. By the time you are doing your third lesson you should be close to being read to take the drive test,
We drove in a local neighborhood doing turns. i noticed her turns were bad. I show her another way of turning the car, with hands in different positions. She explain that the other instructor didn't show her that. I told her there is more than one way of turning. Each instructor has there own methods.
After driving for an hour or so, she informed the other instructor had flirted with her. I asked her what did he do? She told me that he said" she reminded him of his ex-girlfriend and that she had good vibes". I asked her if said or did anything else, and she said no. I apologized for that and said that it was unprofessional. She said" it wasn't a big deal, just made her feel a little bit uncomfortable. She said this happened on the first lesson. Not on the second lesson. I asked if the second lesson was ok? She said yes. He just had random conversations with her.
At the end of the lesson she said that she wished had me as an instructor for all of the lessons, that she would have learned more. I was the instructor for two of her friends. I told her it didn't matter who her instructor was, if she didn't practice she wasn't going to get better.
A month or so later she sent me a text and she didn't learn much in her early two lessons and she should be able to do them over. I called and told her that she doesn't get a do over because she didn't practice. The first instructor did teach her. I told her as I tell all new students, if you don't practice driving after your lessons you aren't going to remember what you learned. Never did I laugh at her and say "sorry honey" . I have never called anyone "honey"
I called her mom after I read the review and said they are too busy to practice with her. I told her 6 hours of driving is not enough time to become comfortable driving.
Negative experience: There is something not right with Darryl. My wife and I paid in advance for my daughter to take the driving classes. I explained to Darryl that we would be following the car during classes to ensure the safety and overall well being of our child. Darryl said he had a grown son and that he completely understood our concern. The night before the classes began, Darryl texted me a reminder. We called Darryl and asked where the meeting location was. He proceeded to tell us that he would pick my daughter up at our home. We asked him what route we would be taking. Darryl started yelling and saying he wasn't sure. Darryl also said that: he had several different routes and that we would need to "drive fast" if we wanted to keep up with him. We were shocked and honestly furious that Darryl would imply that, my daughter would be in the car with him "driving fast" and that somehow we would be at his mercy. Again there is something not right with Darryl. My suggestion is; to stay far far away from Easy as 123 Driving School. In a time when all sorts of people are doing all sorts of things to our children, Why risk it? Stay far far away there is just something not right with Darryl
First I would like to say I try to have a positive and professional experience when dealing with customers on the phone or in person. An I am always respectful.
Mr. Darcell's wife called looking for driving lessons for their 15 year old daughter. They requested to ride in the car for her protection. I informed her that our insurance company did not allow non essential in the car while a lesson is being given. At that point Mr Darcell himself got on the phone and requested the samething. I reiterated what I said to his wife. I also told him there where a lot of other driving schools and some may allow him to ride with them. He said no, he had read my reviews and wanted to go with my company. He asked if it was ok for him to follow us. I said sure. No problem. The lesson where paid for and scheduled. The day before his daughter's first lesson, I sent him a text reminding him of the next day lesson. He responded with a text requesting the exact route of our lesson. I followed up with a phone call so he could explain his request. He told me was going to follow us and he need to know exactly where we were going. I told him I could tell him where we going to end up, but I couldn't tell him how we were going to get there because I was familiar with his exact address. He told me he had "given me his f@## address", and I should figure it out. I said I thought you where going to "follow us". He told me he didn't like my tone or answer. I apologized and said no disrespect was meant, but I dont have any exact directions but he was welcomed to follow us. He then began to yell and say that my company was unprofessional for not having an exact driving route. With a lot of swear words. I told him I would probably be happier with another driving school and that I would be refunded his payment immediately
Fantastic experience: This was my first driving lesson but I gained some confidence in driving, learned a lot, & overall it was a great experience.
Fantastic experience: Darryl is amazing very kind and patient. He made a nerve wrecking experience fun!
Fantastic experience: Took the 6 hour course about 2 years ago and passed my driving test at the first try. I never thought I could learn how to drive back then so it’s crazy how after just 6 hours I became confident in driving. Darryl is a really professional and patient person, I’d 100% recommend him over any driving school. It’s cheaper and better.
Fantastic experience: GREAT SO FAR!
