Roy’s Driver & Rider Education has been providing quality drivers education classes for Maine residents for over 60 years for individuals looking to get their Maine drivers license or Maine motorcycle license.
“With you at every turn” is our motto. We care about the quality of education that we give to our students. Our goal is to provide a driver education course to our students as cost effective as possible.

Fantastic experience: Really great to drive with was a lot of fun
Negative experience: Negative stars I would rate it if I could. I would not and will not be recommending this school to anyone. The car my child had to drive in was beyond disgusting, worse than a garbage dump. There was a lack of actual instruction and the school seems very disorganized and unprofessional. The instructor seemed miserable and made my child very uncomfortable. Very disappointed in our experience. For the price I paid I should have been able to at least say one thing nice.

Unfortunately, we are left to conclude this was a false claim. Should Jaimy contact us and verify the authenticity of this complaint, we will update our response.
Fantastic experience: Aaron Marable was a great driving instructor. Very respectful and easy to work with. My daughter and I had a great time in class and on the road. Aaron gave great insight and made driving fun and informative. Every two hours on road lesson was met with a review of our daughters progress. As for Roy's driver & rider education I found it very easy to sign up and complete all of the different aspects of the states paperwork. All in all I found the total experience to be enjoyable.

Fantastic experience: My daughter’s driving instructor went above and beyond to make it safer for her. The night driving was a struggle, he switched her driving days so she wouldn’t be driving in the dark (4pm.) Thanks Craig W.

Fantastic experience: Roy's gave a great driver experience, the instructional classes were informational, and made my 10 hour drive feel comfortable and improved my confidence for driving. My 10 hours with Roy's went by super easily and I’d recommend going through Roy’s!

Negative experience: Expect you to call ahead if anything changes but cancel and leave kids stranded at the school after its closed! Late or dont show for kids drives!

We were unable to verify the reviewer's concern, the instructor, or student involved. In a private message, the reviewer stated "I'm staying anonymous… but i know complaints been sent in." It is Roy's policy to advise students promptly if an instructor will be delayed more than 5 minutes to pick up a student or if the lesson needs to be cancelled. Unexpected occurrences like detours, traffic congestion, and break downs happen to instructors just as they do to anyone else. We ask the students remain with their ride until the instructor has arrived so that the student doesn't find themselves left alone should the instructor be delayed or need to cancel at the last minute. All that said, the reviewer was advised we will review with instructors at our company-wide meeting this month the expectation that they contact a student should they be excessively delayed or need to cancel a lesson at the last minute.
