Wai Man Driving School: Reviews
Negative experience: Horrible experience, don't believe the lady She's a liar She will give you 2 lesson at the time without ask me When i get there to start lesson than she told me 45min per class not enough , I have to take 2 lesson She force me road test earlier, keep saying that's fine And my husband said I'm not ready And I have to pay $30 for reschedule but she when I asked her when is my reschedule, she lied to me keep saying still waiting, but I checked online The reschedule date already show up , you can know at the same time when you reschedule And when I change my lesson to only 45min She completely ignore me when I wanna make a lesson, everytime call her , she asked me to wait This place is horrible, and the teacher I only can say I give him two star
Fantastic experience: Took me 16 lessons and 2 tests but it was overall a great experience and helped me get my driver's license. Definitely recommend
Negative experience: Basically one of the worst experiences you will get. They don’t teach you anything so that you are most likely going to fail the first few road test. Expensive as well you can find another driving school that is 10x better than this for a cheaper price Trust.
Fantastic experience: My son had an amazing experience at Wai Man Driving School. Raymond was able to effectively communicate the fundamentals of driving along with what was going to be looked for on the road test. I would recommend for anyone looking for driving lessons. Hoi
Fantastic experience: Very good driving school.
Fantastic experience: Excelente servicio muy eficientes
Fantastic experience: I have been referring people here since the 90s. They used to have a wall of students that passed on the first try, but they've since removed that because it just filled up the whole place. They're friendly, knowledgeable and really care about your ability to drive because they understand how important it is to have confidence behind the wheel. Most of my friends passed on their first try, including my wife, but some didn't like myself. But they have the best value package for new students and I'm going to continue recommending them.
Fantastic experience: I really don't understand why you guys have only 1 1/2 star when my kids 20 and 23 years old pass the driving test the same day of the test personally I recommend this driving school to everyone. My son tried to pass the text at upstate NY and he fails like 3 times. He came to visit me and take one class and then the test and the pass. All I have to say that I'm next going to you guys in the name of Jesus.
Negative experience: horrible instructor, everytime on the road, we fell aspleep. Can't believe it ? try it. I would like to give zero star.
Negative experience: Coming here the first time a few years back, I chose the 10 lesson package including drivers ed video and 1 try at the road test for $380. I don't know about you guys but the video was probably produced in the 70s and the premise was someone driving a manual control convertible while he was talking to someone else. I was fortunate there was another person watching the video with me and we decided to talk to each other. If you get the old guy instructor and you happen to speak Chinese, you will be yelled at and harassed for not making the yellow light, switching the signaling lights too quickly, trying to turn on the AC when it's too hot, letting a car pass you when and all kinds of other reasons. He assures you that if there is any damage to the car, it is his fault and he takes full responsibility. I'm convinced he does all this for his personal amusement otherwise he will be sick. This guy's route is usually from Forsythe, right turn into Delancy, right turn into Allen St and you're practicing around Smith Projects on Cherry, Madison and Henry Streets. Now I would suggest not trying to get a refund as it will be calculated on a per lesson scale and not the package scale as they have to find ways to make money off of you and are not necessarily reasonable individuals (especially the short lady). Instead, take a chance and change instructors (Remember I emphasized chance because the bad instructor experience can repeat!) If you're lucky like me, you would have gotten the younger long hair guy with Sun Glasses, who speaks English, taught Defensive Driving in John Jay College, he's phenomenal because he makes you feel great after you've been with Schizo-Alzheimer. Everytime this younger guy (50s) gives you a task and you complete it he say "Yeeeessssss" but it would make a world of a difference if he gave more input and not simply let you drive with few instructions. His route is usually along the FDR Drive starting at Catherine into Seaport and back again. Well, test time came, they provided a different car altogether that another student and I were used to driving and unfortunately, we both failed. This was in Redhook of course which I'll write another review about as the proctor deserves a review of his own.
