Fantastic experience: As a parent of a new driver learning the roads of Mount Pleasant, it can be a daunting experience. Learn to Drive Academy took the pressure off of both the parent of the new driver as well as the new driver themselves, to confidently and safely understand the rules and laws of the road along with the actual roadways new drivers would be actually navigating. Highly recommend!! Also, the convince of pick up and drop off of the student to and from each lesson was incredibly helpful with busy schedules and ease of maintaining a stress free transition. The instructors are knowledgable, excellent at maintaining calmness and guidance. Our new diver personally said it was more helpful and less stressful than driving with a parent. Excellent overall all experience. This is one of the most important safety decisions one can make at this stage, and with 100 percent confidence, it’s is said this is an excellent net. A plus plus!! Highly Recommend!!

Fantastic experience: Learn to Drive Academy is absolutely outstanding! The instructors are fabulous. The Mount Pleasant office worked with us during a family crisis when we desperately needed our son to be a licensed driver (both parents injured and recovering from major surgery). They picked him up and dropped him off. The process was super easy and convenient for us. He passed his drivers test with ease and is a safe, conscientious driver. Highly, highly recommend this company!!!

Negative experience: I do NOT recommend Learn To Drive Academy driving school. Please use EXTREME caution if you chose to use this driving school. This school is not interested in teaching and helping the student "Learn To Drive". -The instructors do not offer any guidance or instruction and are simply a passenger in the car while the student is driving them around. -It is nearly impossible to schedule an appointment. Do not believe the "we come to you" model. They do not have instructor lesson availability and plan on this taking 6 months. -Each lesson provided was NOT the full 2 hours, one was even cut a full HOUR short. I am terribly disappointed in how this experience was so awful. When I was searching for a driving school, "Learn To Drive Academy" had positive reviews, sadly, the more I have looked into how we have been treated, I have seen similar reviews.

Fantastic experience: Worked with our family to schedule appointments for two kids at the same time. Our oldest felt confident with their professional driving instruction and just obtained her DL on first try! Our younger teen is still taking lessons towards his restricted license and has made obvious improvements. We know he'll be ready when it's his turn.Thank you!

Negative experience: If You’re New to Driving, Go Somewhere That Actually Wants to Teach You. I signed up at Learn to Drive as a complete beginner, but they expected me to already know how to drive. They gave almost no feedback and, after just two of my three lessons, told me to quit instead of helping me improve. One instructor gave unclear directions while driving in downtown Charleston at 5 p.m., called me “anxious,” and even cut my 2-hour lesson short by 30 minutes. When I complained, the school brushed it off. Yes, they refunded my unused class, but that doesn’t erase how unsupported, disrespected, and discouraged I felt throughout the entire experience. Beginners deserve instructors who teach patiently from the ground up. This school isn’t it. Additional response: If my driving was deemed unsafe or that I lacked sufficient experience for road practice, I fail to understand why your instructor chose to take me onto busy streets instead of beginning my training in a controlled environment like an empty parking lot. This responsibility lies with your instructor and the school’s training approach.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic service! I booked 3 two-hour sessions and the road test with them. Super easy to book with them and they have plenty of schedules available, so you’ll get your license fast! It was plenty of time to learn the maneuvers and practice general driving. Love the free pick up and drop off—I’m located in Summerville! They were super kind while also giving useful feedback. Ms Kelly and Ms. Pratt are awesome. Would recommend!

Fantastic experience: We have had 3 teen drivers use the full program of driving education in the last 4 years. For the first 2 teens, we used a competitor (CC) but chose to try Learn to Drive with the most recent child. MUCH better experience, from start to finish. Prices are about the same across all the schools, so finding one where the instructors are actually AVAILABLE and not booked out for months (AFTER paying in FULL!) is a plus the Learn to Drive has, but also the quality of instruction and ability to produce confident drivers also far surpassed our other experience. However, after completing 10 hours of behind-the-wheel training with Ms. Pratt, I gained the confidence and skills necessary to drive on main roads and successfully complete the road test. Ms. Pratt is an exceptional instructor, demonstrating great patience and kindness, along with a strong ability to effectively teach her students. Bob and team at learn to drive provided excellent service. They were always quick to respond, provide all details, would shift schedules and made it seamless. Pleasant! ☺️ Our daughter went through 911 driving school and it was an EPIC (not positive) experience, it took months and months refreshing the computer to try to even schedule driving sessions! And she wasn’t comfortable doing the final driving test with them. So we are so grateful we found Learn to Drive Academy through referral!! The owner and instructor are such beautiful humans and the experience has been out of this world. They took our daughter out for a few additional lessons which she loved and they administered the driving test! SUCH a positive experience!! My other daughter is now enrolled with them! I referred them to someone and just got home to receive hand written cards to the girls with a referral check split between them!! Wow wow wow. You just don’t see this service anymore!!! They are responsive and kind and amazing and I would recommend them highly to anyone that has a kiddo who is about to start driving!! I don’t know how more people don’t know about them!! The Academy even sends out reminders for classroom training dates and driving dates which is a thoughtful touch that helps make sure you never miss a session. The instructors are professional, highly skilled, and most importantly patient. My daughter was not nervous driving with their instructor. Whether you’re looking for a basic package or a more comprehensive course, there are options to fit different budgets. They give the driving test themselves so we didn’t have to stand in long lines at the DMV. I highly recommend this place.
