American Career Training, LLC: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Jeremy Wright was my trainer i have gad a cdl for 3 years and was removing a manual restriction and within 4 hours he didn't just teach me how to drive a manual but pushed me passed that to where I easily passed the test at the dmv!!! I went to jiffy 3 years ago and now after going here i regret that. I would only recommend this place to any new drivers or people removing restriction the price is better and the training is beyond what they charge. 10/10 better then jiffy and should be the go to for any one near this area. Last note once again thank you Jeremy for your service to this country and helping keep us free the way we are!
Thank you for your fantastic review! We're thrilled to hear about your positive experience with Jeremy and how effectively he helped you remove your manual restriction. Your recommendation means a lot to us, and we're glad to know our training exceeded your expectations. We appreciate your support and hope to assist more drivers like you in the future!
Fantastic experience: Very thorough and helpful. Made me feel well prepared to pass the DMV tests
Fantastic experience: Great school to start a great career. The staff are knowledgeable and caring.
Fantastic experience: Great staff. . Thank you everyone. I'm making 120k to 150k . Straight out of school!!!
Fantastic experience: This school is very professional, thorough, and they give you the tools and knowledge to succeed. I really enjoyed my time there and learned a lot. After leaving, I was told at my new place of employment that I must have went to a really good school because I was taught a lot of things that other employees did not know how to do. They were also very hands-on, they give you a chance to physically do the things they teach you, instead of just teaching, ie; chains, tandems, drop and hook etc. I can’t say enough good things about the instructors and the owner (Roger). If you are on the fence about where to go, ACT is a wonderful school and they will answer any questions you have before you make your decision. I appreciate everything you guys taught me and I give the school two thumbs up!
Fantastic experience: I have nothing but high praise for the knowledgeable instructors.
Fantastic experience: You get what you put in .It's a good school that I highly recommend .
Fantastic experience: Enrolled in the Class A month course,Thank you to the Instructors ( Destry, Scott, and Dakota you guys were awesome I didn’t know the first thing about driving manual till I met you guys. I really appreciate all the help you guys gave getting me prepared for the exam.) and Office Ladies and Gents (Sativa, Carly and Jeremy always very helpful when I had any questions, and always had accurate information.) everyone was always very good attitudes which helped a lot I wish I could upsell everyone a lot more. If I need to get any more certs and they offer them this is where I’ll be spending my money. THANK YOU SO MUCH GUYS! Such a good group of people. Much love to you guys!
Fantastic experience: I started in January and finished in April with the lineman program and the instructor were super knowledgeable and lots of one on one time oh not to mention the amount of time on the equipment so much I almost got sick of the amount of time I got to be on the Digger Derek or the Bucket Truck
Fantastic experience: Great school great staff. You'll get all the certificates and licenses you need to put you ahead of others in career in the electrical line. NLC in oroville does not offer class a classes are a lot smaller than NLC.
Fantastic experience: Excellent school, with excellent instructors. Well worth the time and investment.
Fantastic experience: January 2022, So far so good. Jared was quite helpful with filling out the application for American Truck School which is now called American Career Training. Im going to use this review to tell my process graduating from American Career Training and getting a job Once accepted to school, Sativa gave me tips on things I could get done prior to starting school, and she gave me study materials for my CLP (Commercial Learners Permit) and a list of personal documents to present to DMV! The get a CLP requires doing six things at the DMV. 1 - Showing five documents confirming my identity, then scan my thumb print into memory which I use to verify my identity every time using the DMV computer. 2 - Using my thumb print, to access a computer and fill out an application for a CDL 3 - Doing an eye exam. 4 - Show a MEC (Medical Examiners Certificate) which is proof of passing a DOT Physical exam. Included in the MEC is pee in a cup (not looking for mood altering substances) vital signs, touch your toes, squat, do weight and height for BMI (Body Mass Index). 5 - Use my thumb print to access a computer and take three written exams. 1 - General Knowledge test. 2 -Air Brakes test. 3 -Combination Vehicle test. All the questions come out of the California Commercial Driver Handbook. But I just used the study material Sativa gave me and did a google / YouTube search every time I did not know a truck part or CDL specific terminology. Much of the DMV test material is common sense but lots is very, very poorly worded! 6 - Pay $85.00 The documents needed to prove my identity; Birth Certificate, two pieces of mail addressed to my current residence, Passport, Current CA Class C Drivers License and Social Security Card. A Commercial License is Class A or Class B. The Class C means car. A passenger car is Class C. Only some CA DMV’s do Commercial Learners Permits (CLP) which you must have in your possession for two weeks before taking the three field exams; 1 -Vehicle Inspection. 2 -Skills Test. 3 -Road Test, Which is much easier with a vehicle you are already comfortable with. Im depending on American Career Training to tell me when my skills are sufficient. For the DOT (Department Of Transportation) Physical. I did a Google search and found several clinics that do walk in appointments. The CLP is necessary to drive a Commercial Vehicle under the supervision of instructor. … That is my next stage… By The Way, Come February 7, 2022 things are getting more complicated, There will be new standards and regulations for commercial teachers, classroom teachers vs BTW (Behind The Wheel) teachers. And A Long Commercial Vehicle (LCV) Certificate will be required of ELD’s (Entry Level Drivers) But please ask Jared or Sativa at American Career Training, they have a way of making the complicated seem simple! Things can get complicated. Passing my DOT Physical was time consuming, taking many phone calls four visits to Dr’s offices. The DOT Medical Examiner said because I take the med seraquel for bipolar disorder; I have another Dr fill out a specific DMV form saying 1 - My bipolar was under control. 2 - Seroquel will not affect my ability to drive a Commercial Vehicle. More to come….
