Tri Valley Driving School

Negative experience: I bought a package with Tri Valley after reading all of the amazing reviews here and on Yelp about BJ. I cannot say I had the same amazing experience that everyone else did. BJ is an absolutely terrible instructor. It seems that she wanted me to come into these lessons as an experienced driver. Instead of building my confidence and knowledge, she did the opposite. She would constantly yell at me when I did something wrong instead of using it as an educational moment, whack at my hands on the wheel, and use her phone while I was driving. She would then repeatedly ask me why I was so nervous and tense and tell me to chill out, as if she didn't spend two hours berating me as someone who is just attempting to learn in a safe space. She also made me suddenly drive on the freeway during busy hours, when I had already told her that I was not super comfortable as a driver yet. Not only that, she was just generally unprofessional. She would constantly text me and call me last minute, often day of, if I could reschedule. She used a chunk of our lesson to "teach me how to get gas," when really, she was unprepared and her tank was empty. She would always show up super early to appointments, to fit her own schedule, and acted as if I was late to my appointment. If you decide to take lessons with them, note that there are no refunds, packages are paid for in full, and they have weird customer service. Everything is done through text, they have an outdated, minimally functioning website, and they do not answer calls. If you do book with them, ask for Dongpei. He was nice. It's a bummer that I spent most of my time with BJ.

Fantastic experience: BJ is an outstanding driving instructor! She taught both of my daughters, and we couldn't be more pleased with the experience. BJ is incredibly patient, thorough, and knowledgeable. She created a calm and encouraging learning environment that helped my daughters feel confident behind the wheel. They looked forward to each lesson and made great progress. I highly recommend BJ to anyone looking for a skilled and supportive driving instructor!

Fantastic experience: BJ is an angel, a professional, patient, positive attitude and ensures to fine tune my areas of weaknesses. The front of her vehicle is a guide for many maneuvers. I have been lucky to have her as my instructor (and now friend), and thankful to her for transforming me into a confident driver on the road. I have passed my exam and truly enjoyed my entire experience of learning with BJ. SHOUT OUT to BJ!!!!

Fantastic experience: BJ was my daughter’s instructor and she was great. Her instruction really helped improve my daughters driving skills to help her prepare for her test. My daughter enjoyed having her as an instructor. And she passed on the first attempt.

Negative experience: I wanted help as an experienced driver with my parallel parking and backing up parking. I called and asked if I could get help with just parallel parking and backwards parking and the receptionist told me that they could definitely fulfill my request and that they'd done it before! They did not. First, there was a severe language barrier. I had to ask clarifying questions for each instruction and sometimes I just guessed. The instructor could not get out of new driver mode. We barely parallel parked. We went on the freeway for some reason. I wanted to parallel park until I was comfortable but the instructor wanted to move on. I parked backwards once, crookedly. It was a disaster.

Fantastic experience: My instructor BJ was so nice and patient. She helps me built my confidence with driving. I went to freeway 2 times with her and I felt really good, also she taught how to control the car, how to changes the lane. I strongly recommend her for the new learner!

She passed her driving test on her first trial exactly 6 months after she obtained her permit. Highly recommend BJ from Tri-Valley Driving School.

Fantastic experience: I had great experience with the Tri-Valley Driving School. The owner, Vince, is terrific in accommodating all my needs. I requested to change the driving instructor after a few lessons with one of his driving couches. Then I drove with BJ for another three lessons. BJ was great in teaching me how to gain better car control and drive defensively. I passed my test without any problems.

Fantastic experience: Great service, I took the DMV test appointment and Erica was so kindly and gave me many advises, I really recommend this service, and of course, I passed my driving test :)

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this company. Both my kids have had their driver's training (behind the wheel) at Tri-Valley Driving School. I couldn't be more impressed with their customer service and flexibility with scheduling. They were also very helpful with advice on how to deal with the DMV. In addition, my children both learned to drive really well as a result of their lessons. I would recommend Tri-Valley Driving School to any local parents looking for high-quality training for their young drivers.
