Five O Driving School

Negative experience: I purchased three lessons with five o driving school and only ended up using two of them. I was able to acquire my license without ever using my extra lesson. I called to see if I could give this extra lesson to somebody who needed it and the lady on the phone was very dismissive and stated that due to their policy this would not be possible and that it's on me for not using the final lesson.

Fantastic experience: I had Mr Don as my instructor and let me tell you it’s an amazing experience. They make you feel safe and confident while you drive and really give you your moneys worth. I 100% recommend for learning drivers

Fantastic experience: The instructors are all awesome, and very much father-like. They make sure that you learn the rules of the road and even give you insight on how to be a better, competent driver. They take into consideration where you plan on taking your driver's exam, and assist you in any areas that you might need help in. It's a full service, and the cars are beautiful. I truly couldn't ask more from this school as each of them do their jobs swimmingly. Any negative reviews of this small establishment takes absolutely no credibility from the experience. The website, I will say, is a bit hard to find appointments with initially, however, appointments quickly open up and new ones are frequently scheduled. Just be patient and you will be pleasantly surprised. 1000/10.

Negative experience: Extremely disappointed with the unprofessional behavior of one of this school's driving instructors. While walking my dogs in my quiet residential neighborhood (which has no sidewalks), I moved aside to let their car pass—only to be rudely yelled at by the instructor for "walking in the middle of the road." I’m attaching a photo of my street to show that it’s impossible not to be “in the middle of the road.” With no sidewalks and cars parked on either side, pedestrians have no other option but to walk in the street. Pedestrians have the right to use residential streets when sidewalks aren’t available (California Vehicle Code §21956), and drivers should know to share the road. Instead, this instructor set a terrible example for their student, teaching them that it’s okay to disregard pedestrian rights and behave aggressively. I’ve walked my dogs here for years and have seen other driving schools use my neighborhood to train new drivers—never have I experienced this kind of disrespect. I expected a driving instructor to teach patience and safe driving—not hostility. I hope this company takes steps to train their instructors better.

Fantastic experience: My parents purchased me a handful of lessons when I turned 18. They were very knowledgeable and positively reinforced me when I did well and corrected me when I needed correction. I'm now 23 with a clean driving record. If they're still around when I get to having kids I'll be sure to have my kids enrolled.

Negative experience: I paid good money for what I expected to be top-notch instruction for my teen. Not only were the instructors rude to my daughter with their gruff comments made, but the different instructors also gave her conflicting (and wrong) information about traffic rules. The DMV drive tester told us that 90% of the kids who fail their drive test in Bakersfield (which my teen did) come from Five-O, so she tries to give them a quick (correct) education before the test whenever she sees Five-O as the instructor. To add onto the discontent, their scheduling system is an unprofessional mess, and they don't provide enough availability options.

Negative experience: Unprofessional. Never answer the phones, never available, and never return my phone calls even after leaving a message. Either hire more staff or close. Genuinely a waste of time calling them.

Fantastic experience: My daughter loved all 3 instructors she had. I purchased 2 extra classes just to get her more experience on the road taught by retired law enforcement.

Fantastic experience: Awesome the best choice for my 16 year old daughter to get driving lessons from. Thanks Laurie you are the best. My daughter passed her Dmv drive test with flying colors. This was so convenient she came to my house all 3 times picked up and dropped her off. Would definitely recommend it✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨

Fantastic experience: Very detailed and professional driving lessons! Within a couple lessons Scott helped me to prepare myself for more than just a flawless behind-the-wheel test, but for safer and overall better driving down the road(pun intended)
