Negative experience: I took lessons from the worst person I have ever seen in my life. He was always tense and did his best to bring me down. Then he said, "One lesson is not enough for you." He got out of the car and said "Good luck." He slammed the door and left. I wish success to those who are going to learn more. I would never take lessons from this man.

Fantastic experience: Valerie was an exceptional instructor. She taught me so much that I went from failing two road exams and passing with her after just two lessons!! She is so very calm and soft spoken and explains everything clearly and easy to comprehend. I couldn’t recommend her enough!

Fantastic experience: Staff is incredibly friendly and the pricing is excellent. Road test appointment + 1 hour lesson was $80 compared to $185 for just the car through Aanandoo Driving School. Valerie was my instructor and she gave a lot of good tips.

Fantastic experience: My daughter took lessons with a driving school last year. The man was too critical and rude. Then someone recommended this driving school. First i registered her for the 5 hour class. She said the instructor was a nice, informative man who explained things thouroughly. He suggested lessons to everyone. We were apprehensive at first, but we called. After The first lesson she came bouncing into the house with such excitement. She had a wonderful lesson. Every lesson after that went excellent and she just passed her test! Thank you Valerie and Southern Tier Driving school for helping us. We appreciate it more than you know!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely love this driving school! I used to be anxious about driving and then I was recommended this school, specifically the instructor Valerie. She was perfect in all my lessons and my confidence in the car improved immensely. I just took my driving test and passed on the first try thanks to her help!!

Negative experience: The person who gave us the 5 hours course was really unprofessional person. First he asked personal questions when I told him I don't want to answer it. He started being disrespectful towards me even when I asked him a question that he barely even answered. He also give me the wrong certificate number while I paid for the full 5 Hours course. I will never recommended this unprofessional driving school to anyone. Zero stars.

Fantastic experience: I recently took both their 5 hour course and driving lessons. The 5 hr course was very nice I took it with Warren Rogers. He helped make the class very fun and educational. I was worried that I would just have to sit there but he was very entertaining throughout the whole zoom. And the lessons I took with Bill in my area. He is a really good instructor. I have horrible driving anxiety and went into this with some driving experience. He was able to point out things I didn’t even think about and give tips for parallel parking that I definitely needed! I also passed my test on the first try in their car. So overall, it was a very positive experience!

Fantastic experience: after covid hit my small town we lost our dmvs and our driving instructors. It made it super difficult to learn to drive or get your license. after I met my teacher Valerie everything changed! she knew how to deal with the most common anxieties for first time drivers and was a very useful and friendly repertoire for information. Everything I know about driving I owe to her. I passed ky exam first time and can't recommend her enough. she was my saving grace and if you want to learn you'll choose her too!

Fantastic experience: Parents if you don't want to teach your kids to drive I suggest this school! Not only is the instructor super friendly but she really tries to help those succeed. I definitely suggest having Valerie as your driving instructor. I've had a friend who also had her and completely agrees with me that getting lessons with them was the best decision to make if you want to get your license! Definitely a 5 star experience!

Fantastic experience: I heard about this driving school from a friend and she raved about Valerie so I decided to reach out. I got a call back less than 24 hours after calling the number on google. Within 2 days, I started driving. Valerie, the driving instructor is so funny and really wants you to succeed. She also praises you whilst telling you what to improve on. She was also really patient with me because I was a little rusty. She let me learn at my own pace and really believed in me. If it wasn’t Valerie, I wouldn’t have my license right now! I really recommend this driving school and the prices aren’t too bad as well for the quality of education they provide.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with Southern Tier Driving School! I heard about them from a friend who also had a good experience with them. They communicated quickly with me and I was able to have my first lesson within a week of contacting them. They also had the flexibility to schedule me frequently on almost a weekly basis. While I had a lot of nervousness going into driving, Valerie was fantastic as an instructor and kept the mood light while also being very professional and informative. While others' experience with driving will vary, I was impressed with how smooth the learning process was despite having no experience prior. I definitely recommend this company!

Positive experience: I've have dealt with southern tier driving soon on and off for the last maybe 5 years or less. I had my first lesson with this driving school and honestly couldn't drive. It was my first time ever really behind the wheel. I had a lesson here and there since then. But wasn't until last year that I took it serious. I went for the five hour course a second time on April 2, 2016. Prior to that I had my permit since 2007 I know not sure why I waited so long to get my license. Anyways long story short. This company is easy to get ahold of but there is only two people that do the driving lessons. One guy that does the Binghamton area and another guy named Warren that does the Elmira Corning area. He is hard to get ahold of that's for sure. It could be weeks before he would return your call or text. I am not sure what is going on as to why he doesn't respond in a timely manner. I've taken the road test four times. I passed on the fourth time on March 9, 2017. I honestly wanted to get my license so I didn't have to pay for another driving lesson. I used to pay $55 a lesson. It gets costly but for an hour it was up there. I'm just glad I don't have to pay anymore and I appreciate Warren teaching me how to drive. I have truly come along way that's for sure. I enjoy driving and to be able to get myself and family from point A to point B is awesome. No more walking or taking the bus or cabs. I have my own car now and just greatful. I do recommend this company for lessons as I was taught by them. But it's hard to get a call back or text. But if you have patience I say go for it. I understand life happens but a text or a call back would be appreciated. I took a total of five lessons last year and two lesson this year. I only practice with Warren the instructor as I didn't have anyone else that could teach me the right way. I want to say I had a total of maybe seven or eight lessons told since I've known about this school. It's all about having confidence and trying not to let your nerves get the best of you. Once that happens you should be fine and comfortable with driving. You will definitely get the hang of it for sure. I did and so can you. And to leave you with this. Warren got on my last nerves at time. The day of my last road test March 9, 2017 I wanted to pull over and get out and leave him on the other side of town. He ticked me off so bad I didn't want to do the road test that day. But he said to me your going to the road test. I'm so glad I did cause I got a really nice laid back gentleman and I passed my fourth time around. So Amen to that. Don't give up. You've got this

Fantastic experience: It was good, for a 5 hour course. The teacher was kinda funny. Took a few tries to get into his class because of some website problems, but it was fine. I would recommend it

Negative experience: I called to schedule my son driving lessons, as they will come to the house and pick him up. The lady I spoke to was very kind, and said the instructor would call me back. I waited 4 days and then called back, and she said he is slow at returning his calls. I asked if there was a direct number that I could reach him at, and she said no. She said that there were several people in line to be called ahead of me so not to really expect a phone call ASAP. That was almost 6 weeks ago, and I still have not received a return call. Called Baxter's Driving School after hanging up, and got a lesson the same week. Really glad I didn't wait around. Not returning phone calls is a really bad way to run a business...............sorry, Southern Tier Driving School.
