JA & Soares Driving School

Fantastic experience: My daughter was previouly enrolled at another driving school but my daughter had horrible experience there. So I had called JA Driving school for additional lessons and to assist my daughter in obtaining her license. Joe was wonderful instructor and my daughter only had good things to say about him. Joe made her feel at ease.He was very patient with my daughter (who was a nervous driver) and my daughter was able to pass and obtain her license and she wouldn't have done it without joe helping her get comfortable behind the wheel. He is also very kind and easy to talk to. I highly recommend this driving school esp. for teen drivers who are just starting to drive.

Fantastic experience: My daughter used Joe for both drivers ed and driving lessons. She passed her road test for her license fine on the first try. We had an overall positive experience.

Negative experience: My experience with J A Soares as a parent has been negative. My child, who is learning to drive there, has described some upsetting interactions with the instructor. In addition to that, the instructor actually insulted my driving skills, using my child's current abilities as the basis for the remarks. Furthermore, I'm not confident in the feedback we've received about my child's driving progress; it doesn't seem to align with what I've experienced in their current skill level.

Negative experience: I never used this driving school, but oh my God the instructor with the student driver almost caused an accident with me. He had her turn right into globe St. coming from Vale St.She never looked for any vehicles and I had to slam on my brakes on a rainy day I slid everywhere. There was a bus behind me which almost crushed me And when I got out say he almost hit me this Portuguese man who is the instructor said to me and I quote “emma vot kaga” I just called the driving school to file a complaint, and he put the blame on that pour student and he wasn’t even there Meanwhile, everything was done in front of Amaral’s and I’m sure they’ve got cameras to prove what just happened my camera was on catching everything going on my phone was recording the conversation because i put him on speaker and he’s telling me that I just want money and I’m gonna put the stuff on Facebook which i never said ,Bad experience, and I have never even gone to the school. it’s not even the student drivers fault because after all, she’s been instructed to do things by the instructor but the school said that it was all the student drivers fault. and on top of all of that, he did not believe anything and when I said that I had witnesses drivers and cameras, he hung up on me extremely unprofessional,do not send your children to be taught to drive to this school. I’m glad I never did.

Fantastic experience: Best driving instructor!!! If you don’t listen I don’t recommend him but if you want to get your license and are willing to listen and follow instructions you will pass!!!! Kindest instructor I met and he will tell you things straight forward. He got me in and out in a week and 1/2 I couldn’t be happier and now I’m a amazing driver.

Negative experience: If I could give this place the 0 stars it deserves I would… The old Portuguese gray haired man Jose is the most rudest instructor you will ever meet.. He doesn’t give any proper instructions to students and when you make a mistake he will yell, slam on the breaks on his side of the car, and make you cry instead. This man has no compassion for these students and could care less about his job. Please save your money, time, and children tears and don’t waste your money on this place.. I could keep going on with how bad of a person Jose is and overall this place and experience I had.

Negative experience: The old guy giving driving lessons is incredibly rude hard to understand and is quick to yell. Definitely wouldn’t recommend

Negative experience: I don’t recall the instructor’s name, but the Portuguese man with gray hair is not a good instructor. He displayed unskillful levels of communication, and was emotionally compromised the entire time. For example, I asked to repeat himself because I couldn’t understand his accent, but it only resulted in angrily responding to me. I’ve did have learning experiences with him, but his teaching style is very outdated and unfriendly — unless you were Portuguese, which is very discriminatory for others who might not understand his cultural way of teaching/speaking. There was one instance I had where, instead of explaining in detail why I made a mistake, he overreacted and said “Tell me this — do you know where you went wrong? You’re gonna fail if you do this.” It was very hard to learn what he was trying to teach. I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt by rating this school a 2 out of 5 stars because I still use some techniques that he taught to this day, but at the cost of almost becoming depressed after being called a “failure.” My recommendation for you would be to go to AAA Driving School, they are leagues better.

Fantastic experience: I just passed the road test today! If it wasn’t for Joe, I wouldn’t have passed. I am a really scared person in the road, and for that reason I just avoided trying to learn for many years after taking few road test in New York. Joe/Mr. Costa is a very good instructor! His instructions are very well structured that when you drive with him you will remember each and every steps that you need to take! I am very thankful that I was his student! I would recommend this school to anyone who wants to learn to drive! I will remember Joe’s instructions every time I drive!

Negative experience: Man is arrogant and temperamental,robbed me of 100$ to transfer information,took me on the highway my first time driving in my entire life,man has balls for someone who's only 5'2"

Negative experience: Guy doesnt have no patience doesnt even know how to drive himeself let alone teach anybody

Negative experience: Very unprofessional. Schedule class for my son my son went there the man didn't even show up. I would not recommend
