NW Drivers Ed: Reviews
Fantastic experience: pretty good communication in my opinion. passed my test here, and we’re really good at helping me out and explaining things after. i can say that i do recommend it here. thank you for your service NW Drivers Ed!
Negative experience: Whatever you do, do NOT Use this absolutely horrible Drivers Ed/drivers license test facility. The customer service is beyond abysmal, the employees are awful and they flat out steal your money if you haven’t taken their drivers ed course. One of the employees (Eluisa?) straight up, said that they typically don’t pass you the first time if you haven’t taken their course. What a scam! At least the DMV employs honest testers. Stay away from this place.
My experience with this school was more or less. I made my appointment with them almost a month in advance because according to them they had confirmed to me that they had staff who spoke and taught driving lessons in Spanish. On this day, August 21, on my appointment day, the lady tells me that the driving teacher only speaks English and that he speaks a little Spanish, so I joined the class that way because anyway I understood him a little, although because of the nerves my head turned blank but quickly I tried to understand for any accident on the road. The teacher tried to teach me many things in 2 hours such as turning, reversing, accelerating, etc. although at first he told me to get into the car, turn on the left and right flashing lights, modify the mirrors, turn on the car, etc. Anyway Hahaha he made me do all that as if I were a person who had already had some driving experience (although I had never done it) but he almost no patience with me and I understood that it was because of the language of both but it was not my fault because if they had put someone who speaks Spanish then the situation would have been different. I felt somewhat disappointed because my 2 hours of class were somewhat desperate even though I tried to stay calm, although I also feel proud because I did many things in those two hours despite not having any experience and I kept calm when making many movements. I give it 3 stars because the teacher is good but he was not the right one for me because I would have loved to understand him more and have done everything better. The only recommendation I give to this driving school is that please be honest with the student when booking the class that they do not have much teaching staff to manage and that they speak Spanish and explain in more detail.
Negative experience: The was Staff so rude and Unprofessional . If you can go somewhere else … PLEASE DO!!!!
Fantastic experience: It was very easy to book with them, communication was solid from the front desk and examiner 3 was very fair and patient ! Passed my road test here i would definitely recommend.
Fantastic experience: Scheduling was a mildly difficult task, but it worked out. Lessons helped out a lot. Also, I got my dmv test here and passed. I notice some reviews are lower for this place, so either I got lucky or maybe they improved. Thank you for your service, NWDriversEd
Fantastic experience: We had a great experience. The gals in the office were fun, welcoming, and just so sweet. My daughter was super nervous and her drivers instructor was so great at explaining everything and allowing her to ask questions all the things. Love that they explain everything at the end too.
Fantastic experience: My wife and I both had to take a driving test to get our Oregon license and we were referred to this location by a DMV list. The receptionist and the examiner were both lovely and kind people. The test was challenging and fair. We were both pleased to have passed and we are grateful for the help from NW Drivers Ed. I highly recommend this location!! Great customer service, competitive pricing and a very convenient location :)
Fantastic experience: Very Nice place tho do your driver test, I recommend it.
Fantastic experience: After seeing some of the negative reviews, I was nervous to come here, but had a great experience! The test wasn’t too complicated, and it didn’t take long either (about 10-15 minutes). They also have a much shorter wait list than other places and offer convenient appointment times. Would definitely recommend NW Driver’s ED to anyone looking to get their license!
Fantastic experience: Recomiendo este lugar excelente muy bien atendidos
Negative experience: Horrible. They don’t deserve the one star but I had to put it to leave a review. The service was horrible im still shocked . We had an awful encounter with the lady that signs you in . She was extremely racist to us she made my mom feel horrible for not speaking English. She didn’t only yell but also didn’t let me and my mother defend our self’s. She Scammed us and didn’t want to give our money back or even admit that the mistake made was her fault . This place also does not have enough information to make sure you’re doing your apoitment right and won’t give your money back for anything. Not to mention she threw my phone instead of just handing it back to me . I’m a minor and she made me and my mother feel extremly humiliated and panicked. On top of it she was rude to an elder coworker who was only trying to help. I don’t usually do reviews but seriously stay away from that place . Worst encounter I’ve ever had. Go anywhere else they’re problably even cheaper.
Negative experience: they canceled my test last minute
Fantastic experience: Awesome ladies that run the business. They are very helpful and knowledgeable.
Fantastic experience: The location is fantastic! I was a bit nervous for my mom to take a test since she doesn’t speak English fluently, but the ladies at admin desk were so helpful and put her at ease. And guess what? She passed the test with flying colors!
Fantastic experience: Had an amazing experience! Immaculate service, highly recommend!
Negative experience: If I could do negative stars I would I paid to do my test month ago went in they had a sign posted “due to weather conditions appointments after 3 we’re cancelled” nothing about they would reschedule nor refund. I never got a call, email ect. about my appointment being cancelled. So I’ve been out that money. I need my license for the job I have. And was gonna go set another appointment but looking at reviews this is not the right place to go. They do take your money and don’t refund nor tell you they canceled your appointment. SUPER disappointed. Wasted my money n my time.
Fantastic experience: Recomiendo Ampliamente Este Establecimiento Personal Muy Amable y Profesional Hicimos La Prueba De Manejo, No Podria Haber Sido Más Comveniente La Cita Fue Echa En Linea La Prueba fue Juzta y No Demasiado Complicada Definitivamente Satisfecha Gracias.
Negative experience: i made an appointment n canceled it the same day bc i wasn’t gonna be able to make it so i asked for a refund it’s been 4-5 days already but i got an email saying they refunded my money back but i changed my bank n they still charged me sooo i want my money back.
Fantastic experience: Simple and good instructors! Friendly people who are happy to answer all questions you may have as long as it’s before your test begins!
Fantastic experience: Both of my daughters took their drivers test here and had a great experience. The testers answered questions before the test and were very pleasant. The test was easy and explained errors ( one had to take test twice) I would recommend. (we tested at the hyacinth location)
Negative experience: The lady gives to much attitude, bad service, and sucky car
Negative experience: Unless you want to be scammed out of $75, please do not book a drive test with NW Drivers Ed. I booked my daughters test 3 weeks in advance, only to receive a text 2 days prior to the test stating they don’t have examiners working on Fridays… then why did it allow me to book the appointment on a Friday?! Due to the fact they cancelled my appointment on short notice, I called and requested a refund. The answer I was given is that they will issue a refund in 2 weeks. I asked why it would take that long and I the lady answered “that’s our policy”. I asked it be done sooner, as this was their mess up, and she said she would put a note in to the manager to do it sooner. Based on other reviews I don’t anticipate getting my refund and will likely have to file a dispute with my bank. I had a very upset teenager who had been looking forward to getting her license, so I immediately booked with ODEC and couldn’t have had a better experience with them, and they’re $5 cheaper than this place.
Negative experience: I made a driving test appointment at the NW Drivers Ed Salem location, which I ended up canceling within the allotted amount of time for a refund. I called and was directed to voicemail where I left a message about canceling my appointment, as well as wrote an email. I have an email tracker that notifies me when a sent email has been opened, I got a notification that my email was NEVER opened. I attempted to call again to confirm my cancelation and again, I was sent to voicemail and my call was never returned. They clearly don't have the intention of "making good" on their own policies and just take your money. I had to file a chargeback with my bank which is a hassle in itself. Unless you want to be scammed, I advise you stay far away from NW Drivers Ed in Salem.
Negative experience: Very disappointed in the customer service of NW Drivers Ed, we met all the the requirements to receive a refund in a timely manner; was told it would take about 2-3 weeks(which seems pretty long to begin with). Waiting the above time and plus some, and have not yet seen a refund. Went in to their location in Salem, was greeted by friendly staff, and was given a business card with a number to contact upper management. After attempting to contact them with the information I was given, I have yet to hear back from them by email, phone call or text message.
Negative experience: Beware of NW Driver's Ed in Salem, Oregon: A Disappointing Experience I had an extremely disappointing experience with NW Driver's Ed in Salem, Oregon, and I feel compelled to share my story to prevent others from falling into the same frustrating situation. Their refusal to issue a refund they owe me, coupled with their complete lack of communication, has left me feeling dismayed and deceived. I canceled a driver's test with NW Driver's Ed well within the allotted time. According to their own policies, I should have been eligible for a refund. However, despite my multiple attempts to contact them regarding the refund, they have been unresponsive and unhelpful. This level of disregard for their customers is simply unacceptable. What further concerns me is that I am not alone in this unfortunate experience. A quick search online reveals a number of similar reviews from other customers who were also denied refunds they were entitled to. This pattern of behavior raises serious doubts about the integrity and professionalism of NW Driver's Ed. It's disheartening when a company fails to uphold their responsibilities, especially when it comes to matters of finance and customer service. As consumers, we deserve better treatment and transparent communication from the businesses we choose to engage with. Unfortunately, NW Driver's Ed has proven themselves to be unreliable and untrustworthy in this regard. To potential customers considering NW Driver's Ed, I urge you to think twice. It's clear that this company lacks the necessary integrity to honor their refund policies and provide adequate customer support. Instead of offering assistance or addressing concerns, they simply ignore their customers. This type of behavior should not be rewarded with our hard-earned money. When looking for a driver's education program, it is essential to find one that values its customers and operates with a high level of professionalism. Based on my experience and the multitude of similar complaints, NW Driver's Ed in Salem, Oregon, does not meet these criteria. I would strongly advise seeking alternative options in the area that prioritize customer satisfaction, responsiveness, and fairness in financial transactions. Please take my experience into consideration before making your decision. Don't subject yourself to the frustration, disappointment, and lack of accountability that I have experienced with NW Driver's Ed. Explore other reputable driving schools in the area that have proven track records of providing exceptional customer service and honoring their refund policies. Your time, money, and trust deserve better than what NW Driver's Ed is willing to offer.
Negative experience: DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY Awful service and scammers took my money and canceled my appointment the day before won't give me my 75$ dollars back waste of time
Fantastic experience: We only did the drive test, but it couldn't have been any more convenient. Made the appointment online. Test was fair and not over complicated. We would definitely recommend this place.
Negative experience: I would definitely not recommend NW Drivers Ed. Their office is difficult to find; I would have appreciated a little extra info ahead of time on how to find their office. The staff were not friendly at all. The tester was hard to understand which made it quite difficult to know what she wanted during the driving test.
Fantastic experience: My daughter took her drive test here today at the Salem location! It was a great experience all around. From making the appointment, to checking in, and the drive test itself. Very organized and professional. I was a bit hesitant seeing all the negative reviews, but decided to move forward and I’m so glad we did. It definitely saved a lot of time and hassle instead of going through the DMV to schedule an appointment. Highly recommend NW Drivers Ed!!
Fantastic experience: No wait, nice staff, all around good experience.
Negative experience: My son who has driven more then most kids has been taught to use his mirrors when backing up and is a very cautious driver but confident. This lady from India who was hard to understand failed him for the following reasons. 1) backing up out of parking spot cars on each side , failed because he used both mirrors and rear view mirror. Vs only turning body and looking at back of car , she basically said front of car doesn’t matter 2) in a narrow residential street with cars Parallel on both sides, my son drove 15 instead of 25. That created a fail in her opinion. 3) my sons pulled up to crosswalk making sure he stopped short of walk, he failed again because she said you need to stop way short of cross walk then creep up to lines . The initial meeting of her in office she made fun of him and me for giving him his middle name and referred to herself as being beautiful , very unprofessional. This the Salem location
