Northstar Driving School: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Are they still open
Fantastic experience: This school has been owned by the same family since I can remember. I grew up near this driving school, attended, and now my son is attending classes here. The people that work here treat everyone like family. Betty and Vicki are the sweetest ladies and will go above and beyond for their students. We love this place.
Fantastic experience: North Star driving school did an amazing job with my son! He learned a lot of critical things these young drivers need to know!
Fantastic experience: very good
Fantastic experience: it was great
Negative experience: He is not nice at all, I will not prefer to go here again. He need to give more confidence when kids are giving exam not stress.
Fantastic experience: They gave everyone snack breaks half way through plus you can buy pop for 75 cents so that was a heck of a deal! I also passed my driving test so they must have tought me fairly well. Would certainly recommend.
Negative experience: Very unprofessional! She called me way passed normal business hours. I was unable to answer, but When I received the voicemail she told me to be ready to be picked up the next day. However, later that night my mom received a call and was told that we were too far away and could not be picked up. We had already given them our address a month ago so they knew where we were located. There was no apology or attempts find a solution. Very disappointed in the customer service. Would not recommend to anyone.
Negative experience: Last minute call to say that can no longer drive out to pick up after allready scheduled and said that they can not to mention called at a late hour. Gave no solutions basically just said well sorry
Negative experience: If there was 0 stars I would give that. Provided no solution for a problem generated by their faulty communication between scheduler and trainers. Not at all a good impression. No willingness to resolve beyond an apology.
Negative experience: Terrible... Dropped the ball on even getting the schedule and location correct. If there were 0 stars that's what I would give them. Called to changed the class location with less than 16 hour before the appointment.
Negative experience: I wouldn’t recommend this place at all! When I enrolled my son they said they would drive to Cambridge for his behind the wheel! A month later that all changed and I’m stuck driving him to to Bethal for his behind the wheel! Not too mention the horrible communication, when it wasn’t even snowing and they would cancel because of a “blizzard” but I still drove a half hour down! Because careful with them!
Fantastic experience: I liked the class, and the teachers. I would highly recommend going here.
Fantastic experience: From a students perspective, I really enjoyed this class. The teachers were spectacular. I feel incredibly prepared and confident for my permit test. Previously I never realized or respected how dangerous the roads can be. I’m excited to begin behind the wheel. Thanks north star!
Negative experience: Classroom portion is over 50 dollars more expensive then others in the area. The package (classroom and behind the wheel) is over 150 more then other schools. Only reason we used this place was because it was close to home. If you want your kid to watch movies all night for two weeks and don’t care if they learn anything send your kids here. If you actually want them to get something for your money, you may want to look elsewhere. Buyers remorse.
Fantastic experience: This place is amazing and the owner and help are wonderful beyond..The guarantee I have been given by there service allows me to see why small buis is also immportant!!!
Negative experience: Charged a lot for basically watching movies on scare tatics all day. I never learned anything in the class except one teachee saying how selfish suicide is which really angered me having depression and suicidal ideation in the past, and I was not the only one in the class thinking so. The only real learning was the behind the wheels, with a different teacher. I know how to parallel park now, but don't know a lot of the 'theory' and classroom skills because we only ever watched movies about texting and driving.
Fantastic experience: Great drivers-Ed! I took this about a year ago, and I learned a lot. One really good tip to acing your permit test first time, is taking all the MN permit practice tests And another really good tip for passing your road test the first time, is taking it at the Arden Hills DMV, then watch all the (19 some) videos that an ex-driving instructor who worked at Arden Hills made and posted to YouTube. Search "Arden Hills road test" it should be the first couple videos.
Negative experience: Impossible to get a person on the phone. They charge $100.00 more than others and are not any better than the rest.
Fantastic experience: Very good customer service, great rates!
