Fantastic experience: I took my parents who recently immigrated to the States, Mr. Crosslin was very nice and gentle. He was very patience even with their language being different. During driving test he puts lots of efforts to explain them. It was’t there first try but they really like their service.

Negative experience: Went here near the end of my summer break to do a couple tests. First time, I could see where I failed, but I kept receiving criticism from my driving such as turns and such. So, before I went back a second time, me and my grandma were practicing ALL DAY after the test, and a few hours the next day before my test. She said I was ready. And when she says something like that, she truly means it with all honesty. The next day I went back and took it again. It was an old dude in glasses. He was pretty strict going about how he ran things. I don’t want to say he was rude, because there are fine lines between rude and strict. I’m pretty sure he didn’t know what he was doing because when I was taking the test, he kept being really rude and telling me things like, “I can’t talk right now.” Or “Pay attention.” whenever I spoke to the guy. Which, is fair. Some people have different rules for different reasons. But, they are “trained by the state” according to themselves. So, I can’t argue with them. As soon as I finished, my test was failed due to me “clipping lanes” and not LOOKING ENOUGH. HOW? I have no clue. I was also told my parallel parking wasn’t good either when he literally had me park on an open space road (You know, the one with no curbside. He also told me to make my turns too late. I don’t know if this business is a scam or what, but what I’ve heard from others, it seems like you all are trying to eat peoples money. Fast forward to October 18th, I drove the exact same way, and it was at a REALLY PROFESSIONAL driving school, but passed. Doesn’t make sense any way at all. Can you explain this to me?

Negative experience: No marking criteria for driving test. Money making scam! Apparently I was “too cautious” with my driving. I’ve been driving for 4 years overseas, how can I be “too cautious” and fail the exam.

Cruisers Driving Academy

All examiners are trained and follow the states standard test. There are marks that if you are going to slow or stop where should not (examples) are marked and the State considers them either a Danger Potential or a Congestion Problem. If you have a problem with the states Standard test please call Olympia with your complaint. Be safe!

Negative experience: Would not recommend. Spent over $200 for the drive test. Failing over things like “clipping lines”. Not a clear scoring criteria. Had to take the drive test 3 times in the same day. No place to sit and wait for the student to be done with the drive either. I had to sit in the pouring rain for hours. Definitely seems to be failing people for more $$. Would never recommend to anyone. Take your kids elsewhere!!!

Negative experience: There are no written materials given to the students. My son was given 2 appointment times for driving that were not correct, even though we were given appointment cards for the appointments, and the manager actually told us that the card was just a suggested time to make an appointment! The manager refuses to wear a mask when going on drives and open carries a gun on drives as well. The manager would talk to my son about the government and his rights which I find extremely unprofessional. The other driving school in town is amazing compared to cruisers and I deeply regret trying cruisers out for my 2nd child.

Negative experience: Took my daughter here for her writin test for her driver's license. She failed 3 times. After finally passing we were so excited we immediately scheduled her drive. When she went in the guy giving her the test was a bit rude to begin with. She used their car that she was unfamiliar with and when asking questions about the car he was rude and marked her down for it. Then a half block out of the parking lot she was in the process of turning through a green arrow and half way through it turned yellow and he instantly failed her. I 100% believe they fail to make money. I had heard but didn't believe. Now I do. Will not drop one more dollar at that place.

Negative experience: Bad experience. I don't need to hear politics from a private employee when trying to obtain a state sponsored driver's license. I was nitpicked on everything in the drive test and marked negatively on made up rules "your corners wernt square enough" "if there were lines you might have crossed them" "you didn't stop for three seconds at stop signs". Pretty sure they just want you to fail so you have to come back and spend more money. I got a very low score and failed the drive test. I took the drive test some where else and drove the same as I did before and passed quite easily. This place does not care about safety and helping driver's get on the road responsibly. They only seem to care about their wallet's. I am writing a formal letter of complaint as any one who has suffered the same experience should.

I would suggest that you also call DOL in Olympia and find out just how picky they are on their (The State of Washington) drive exam..all employees are trained by the State

Fantastic experience: Would recommend to any new drivers. Really eye opening with the difference of legal and illegal.

Negative experience: Took our son there payed cash to have everything done, drive tests everything. We wanted him to get all his state written done before 16 so all he had was the drive. Well he took the state written at the end of his classes and past. Somehow they lost it and said he didn't take it, we had to pay again. So he takes his written again they said he failed, but wouldn't show him what he failed. So we paid again for his written...third time now..passed the written this time around, now onto the drive..that was all covered in the initial cost of his school but they failed to tell us if it wasn't done in the 90 days we would have to pay again..paid yet again..guess what he failed his drive..oh also the instructor's were telling the kids how the parents don't know the laws and rules of the road..Fyi I was a tow truck operator for 12 years! I've been driving for over 20 years have a motorcycle endorsement, boaters license and obtaining a Cdl right now..so for you arrogant instructors running your mouths, you may want to do some research on us "ignorant parents." You will be reported to the better business bureau and you are highly un recomended!

Positive experience: Cruisers allowed me to make payments which was very helpful. I had an arrangement for a specific date and when I could not get to the driving school on that date I called to tell them I wouldn't be in and they told me it would be fine if I came in to pay 2 days later. I came in 2 days later to pay and the owner guy from Moses Lake was there. He started telling me my payment was late and they didn't allow that. This was all before my son even started the class. He then spent almost 20 minutes telling me about all the things my son could and couldn't do when he got his license and about how in his opinion the cop up at the high school was too lenient because he allowed students to drive around with other students in the car. I felt lucky when I was finally able to "escape." Now my son has been driving with his permit for at least a year. He drives often with me and has taken the driving test twice. The first time he admitted that he screwed up parallel parking but the second time he was failed for little things that this over the top guy piled up. He makes money every time someone takes the test so it is in his best interest to have them take it multiple times. I have witnessed my son's driving and know he is capable. Everyone else who worked there was very nice but they are all gone now.

Negative experience: Scheduled my driving appointment last week for today at 3:30. Showed up for my appointment, and the place was completely closed. Windows dark, closed sign on the door, no one answering the phone. Nobody called to reschedule with me, I haven't yet received a call back concerning my appt, and I do not recommend going to a business that handles their appointments in such a manner.
