Avers Driving School

Positive experience: Avers Driving School provided a mixed experience for our teen driver. The positives: their use of unmarked, late‑model Subarus was great for making new drivers feel comfortable, and home pickup and drop‑off made scheduling very convenient. The first two lessons went smoothly, and the instructor was kind, patient, and attentive. Unfortunately, the last lesson was disappointing. Booking it was difficult, with a four‑week wait and no flexibility, forcing us to pull our student out of school for the only available time. During that lesson, the instructor spent part of the drive watching videos on their phone, which was unprofessional and set a poor example for a learner driver. They also ended the session 20 minutes early and gave inaccurate advice about the test route. Given that the final session felt like a waste and the overall cost was high compared to other schools, I can’t fully recommend Avers Driving School. The first lessons were good, but the inconsistency and professionalism issues ultimately made it not worth the price.

Fantastic experience: Avers driving classes were great for my 17 yr old daughter. We purchased the 9 hr package and the DMV driving test day and my daughter passed on her first try ! Their packages are far better than the AAA courses offered. I loved the convenience of having her picked up and the routes they practice on. Their customer service was attentive and they always responded my questions promptly !

Fantastic experience: Patrick is currently teaching my mom to drive. I want to note that my mom has never driven before and doesn't speak English. She previously spent a bunch of money on private Russian-speaking instructors who taught her nothing and claimed she would not be able to drive at all due to her age. Patrick is very easy to understand even if your English is limited; he is patient, motivates, offers suggestions, and explains mistakes and how to correct them. I would recommend this school to our community from now on.

Fantastic experience: Excellent in-car driving school. The instructor drives to your home address in a regular looking car, no indication that a student driver will be driving. And as for getting an account registered with them, I recommend going in-person to get setup; considering all the data breaches you hear about these days, it's not worth the unsafe convenience of just texting sensitive information. I still say 5 stars because once you get setup, the instructor is friendly, knowledgeable, and patient with making sure your form and safety checks are on point.

Fantastic experience: My girlfriend took lessons from this school, she passed first try and I knew she would pass by the second lesson as she was already very knowledgable and comfortable with the road. Before this school she was very nervous every time I took her to practice driving and now she is a happy confident and a knowledgeble driver and more prepared for the driving test than I ever was. The times I met up with them they were very friendly eager to help. I think this school is fantastic and would recomend it for anyone trying to get thie license.

Thanks to the exceptional training she received at Avers Driving School, my sister not only passed her driving test with flying colors but also gained the confidence and skills needed to navigate the roads safely and responsibly. She wholeheartedly recommends Avers Driving School to anyone looking for top-notch driver education. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

Fantastic experience: I passed my DMV driving exam on the first try and I now have my driver's license!! Amazing Instructors! I can't stop recommending them enough! Lety, the receptionist, is really kind and patient with helping you choose your driving package, scheduling your driving class appointments, and answering any question you could possibly have regarding their services and how the classes work. I was on the phone with her for 45 minutes and never once did I feel rushed to end the call. It was so easy to talk to her! Sabino is the owner of the company and he's still very humble enough to be a driving instructor himself. I had my first driving class with him. He is patient, kind, communicative, encouraging, and funny. I never felt rushed nor anger from him. He effectively communicates what can I improve on and what I did well on from a stance that KNOWS I'm a learning driver and don't know all the social and lawful rules of California traffic. Edwardo is kind and very upfront on informing you what you can improve on. He's also very socially talkative about your life. I learned the most on this second driving class. It was a lot of information in a way that was still obtainable and easy to understand. Luke was really nice and patient. He very much explains in depth why we do certain things the way we do on the road. My third driving class was all about practicing the possible DMV routes. Luke thinking very critically as if he was the DMV examiner as to replicate any issues you could find yourself in on the real DMV driving exam. I used their car/service to take my DMV Exam since I felt I'd be most comfortable in taking the car I used to practice. Sabino picked me up an hour before my DMV Driving Exam appointment to practice any DMV routes you have any last questions or concerns about. He waited alongside me as we checked in for my appointment. He provided moral support, emotional support, patience, and encouragement as my nerves started to kick in. I took the exam and passed first try!! Overall, I feel as though I wouldn't have passed on my first try without them. They provided me the guidance and advice that was heavily used for DMV instructors. Theses instructors know how the DMV examiners think so you know how to act accordingly on the test. I felt confident, relaxed, and knowledgeable on my test thanks to Avers Driving School. I am now a licensed driver

Fantastic experience: I would give 6 stars if possible! I'm a foreigner and I highly recommend Avers for those like me who need to get a driver's license here. They are excellent! Thank you Luke and Eduardo!

Negative experience: Paid $400 for 3 lessons. Only got one so far..they never answer phone calls or text messages.

Fantastic experience: This is a great driving school. My daughter had Luke and Ricki as instructors. They are both exceptional at their jobs. They provide structured lessons, have a great demeanor that is perfect for alleviating stress and instill confidence. On the second lesson, they took my daughter on the freeway which I was concerned about beforehand, but they knew what they were doing. My daughter spent many of her practice hours on the freeway. Without them, we probably wouldn’t have done freeway driving for a long time. After each lesson, specifics were provided on what to practice. My daughter passed the first time she took the test at the DMV. I also appreciated Avers finding a spot for us after my last minute request for the third lesson and communicating by text which made things easy. Avers was also very fair. When I called them, I was planning on buying more hours. They suggested that I start with the 3 lesson package which is enough for most clients and could decide later whether to add more hours. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Excellent driving school with professional instructors. I had no driving experience when I started but my instructor Ricky made the whole learning so much easier and enjoyable. He is very competent, knowledgeable, patient and friendly instructor. Always gave me clear answers, advices, tips and thanks to him I passed my road test on the first attempt with 0 mistakes. Customer service is great. Always helpful, pleasant and flexible with schedules. Recommend.

Positive experience: Being a Learner takes much of consideration as I was anxious and not brave enough to drive with other cars in the road. I passed the DMV behind the wheels test(take 1 only). Thanks to Sabino’s patience for teaching me through. Also, thanks to Letty for her professionalism; a good customer service with a pleasant personality.

Negative experience: My first instructor was Rick and I found him great and fun to drive around with. Definitely made the whole experience less scary. May have gone on a tangent for too long but overall very good and did not make me nervous or uncomfortable at all. I paid to have the recommended amount of classes and also to use their car and instructor to complete the driving test. During all the beginning drives, I was driving a Subaru Impreza with Rick, a nice small car. I got very used to the car, so used to it that on my mom's personal car , I wasn't as good with the acceleration and braking compared to the Impreza. During my driving test, instead of the nice small car I was used to and been practicing on, practically the only kinds of car I've driven since I started, Sabino showed up with an SUV instead, I think it was also a Subaru in grey. Coming from only driven small cars since, this was a big change. I don't think driving an SUV is more difficult but its different and that is the last thing I need when coming into a driving test. On top of that, Sabino was not as layed back as Rick and would give me anxiety. My confidence for the driving test fell and was a huge waste of money. I ended up taking the test a second time with my mom's car and ended up passing without the help of Avers Driving School.

Fantastic experience: Luke is the most patient teacher! Took the nerves right out of the lesson. The ladies in the office (Oty and Lety) were super pleasant and accomadating with scheduling. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: We used Avers to help my wife get her first driver's license in the US and were very pleased with their structured curriculum and service. Our instructor was Luke who was professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. Many thanks to Avers and Luke for their assistance. We have no qualms recommending them.

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend this place to people who really want to learn on how to be a good driver. Without them I wouldn't be able to pass my driving test. As a student's point of view, a great teacher gets tough on you so you can be the best driver. They are very professional and they work around your schedule. My instructor was Sabino and he is great.
