Negative experience: Warning to Future Students – Stay Away from Lorac Academy Truck Driving School (Greensboro, NC) I normally don’t write reviews, but after waiting over 4 months for a refund I was promised, I feel obligated to share my experience. I enrolled at Lorac Academy, paid $2,500, and attended just 4 days of yard training before realizing this school is a complete disaster. There is no discipline, no schedule, and zero professionalism. Instructors are rarely available, the yard is pure chaos with people yelling at each other, and students wait 10+ hours just to get on a truck. They advertise a 4-week program, but I met students stuck there for 7+ weeks without completing their DOT-required hours. I immediately requested a cancellation. The owner, David, promised me a $1,250 refund after 21 days. I followed every instruction—sent an email, mailed a written request via UPS, and confirmed he received it—but he has now ignored me for over 4 months, blocked my calls, and completely disappeared. This school preys on immigrants and hardworking people, wasting time and money while making false promises. I strongly urge anyone considering Lorac Academy to stay far away. Do not trust them with your money or your future.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend! Very experienced instructors! Owner is very helpful! Very attentive and factual on how OTR or local driveing works! Helping and knowledgeable on how things workon the truck, how to drive, and pre-trips! Greatful for there service, advice and there teaching!

Negative experience: Extremely disappointed with this driving school. They assured me I would get my license in 4 weeks, but l ended up stuck there for over 7 weeks with no proper updates or explanations. Their lack of professionalism and poor time management made the entire process a nightmare. I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone looking for a reliable and efficient experience

Positive experience: I started this class with no knowledge of trucking and thought at times I wouldn’t finish. With the help of the instructors and classmates that wanted the same as I did, I completed the course and obtained my class A (automatic) CDL’s. This was by far probably the most inexpensive, and easy to get along with than any other school in this area. If you have the slightest bit of self motivation and thick skin, take a step in this direction for an opportunity to grow in the trucking game!

Fantastic experience: My study at Lorac was positively memorable. The instructors were great. Utmost respect to MR. NEAL ( AKA. ...I KNOW THE WAY ), Mr. J and Mr. Ace. Fantastic experience: I had a great experience here ! The teachers were patient and very thorough with their teaching . They work in small class groups so you will be able to learn and have your turn on the trucks. Everyone was professional and had a positive attitude on the range. Thank you guys for everything !

Fantastic experience: I am so grateful for my training with Loracs passionate driving instructors. I learned to drive a 10 speed truck and over come so many other obstacles. Fantastic experience: I truly enjoyed my journey at Lorac Academy. What I thought would be nearly impossible to learn from the instructors: Mr. King, Mr. Terry, and Ms. Dee certainly guided me in the proper direction. They were all passionate and intentional in making sure each student what was needed for their next phase in life. My two most memorable moments were... Mr. Terry looked me in the eyes and gave me a fist bump when I completed my first on-road driving. He said, "James, you did great! You did great, man"! It impacted me hard because I was homeless and the car I was sleeping in was totaled during my commute to Lorac Academy. So that word of encouragement gave me hope that this decision wasn't in vain. And my second most memorable moment was Ms. Dee jumping up and down and then giving me a hi-5 when I did my maneuvers without any assistance. I'm thankful for this entire journey. S/o to Lorac Academy and its instructors for the tools you've added to my tool belt!

Fantastic experience: My experience with Lorac academy was awesome i came to trucking school not knowing anything about trucks left with full of knowledge and everything i needed to know to perfect my skill , The instructors where very helpful and willing to teach anything me anything i wanted know i recommend Lorac Academy to anyone who’s interested in going to trucking school promise you it will change your life .!

Fantastic experience: I had a good experience at Lorac Academy. The instructors showed they cared by making sure that everyone understood the information. They were patient with the students that didn’t get certain things right away. Both in class and on the driving range. The instructors made sure the students were ready before we went to to take the final exam. It only took me one time to take the exam and pass it. Now I have my Class A license with no restrictions. I want to say thank you to David and his instructor’s at Lorac Academy.

Negative experience: I came to Greensboro for a career change and a fresh start with my 2 children. I chose this school because I was referred by Jason at Goodwill career center of Greensboro (where I actually wanted to be). This place turned my entire plan upside down. The owner, David lacks professionalism and accountability. This school is said to offer CDL training in just 4 weeks. It actually takes them 16-18wks. They are without certified professional instructors, their trucks are old and barely work and are often non drivable (and the main reason why students can't graduate). They have no curriculum, they teach from YouTube videos of other schools, there is no DOT certified range. THE RANGES have been in random abandoned parking lots, strip mall parking lots, etc. No one at this school is professional including the woman in the front office. They TAKE YOUR MONEY AND DO NOT PROVIDE THE SERVICE/TRAINING IN THE 4WKS they advertise. Since this school has opened Aug 1, 2022 only 2 ppl have graduated.
