The Driving School: Reviews
Negative experience: Muy mal ponen que atienden domingos y está cerrado y además ponen número de teléfono y ni siquiera levanta muy mal
Fantastic experience: Lou was my instructor really great instructor and even greater person !
Negative experience: Honestly just super unprofessional. Tried signing up for adult lessons so I did what the website stated no one responded for 2 days and that’s only because I had to email them AGAIN about it. Replies almost instantly saying call. I call them at least three different times on different days and they still do not answer? Email them AGAIN still NO response. Honestly just irritating
Negative experience: Tried to call several times no answer no way to leave a message
Fantastic experience: The owner is awesome! Got us in fast and even hand delivered our certficate to make sure that we had it. It was the best experience
Negative experience: Although the website states that it has adult classes, I called today and was told by the receptionist that the company does NOT serve adults. It is noted that the course is for Abbreviate drivers age 18. Yet, the law states Abbreviate drivers at 18 and over. So, that you know, this company serves teenagers only!
Negative experience: In class experience was quite good and the teacher was very enjoyable. The in car part was awful due to the teacher refusing to teach you how to drive. Wouldn't recommend anyone waste their time here and should go somewhere else.
Thank you for your feedback. While we are happy to hear that your classroom experience was positive, we - like you - were disappointed to learn that your in-car experience was unsatisfactory. As of yesterday, the driving instructor that is the subject of your review no longer works for us.
Negative experience: My Daughter attended the July class and failed the 1st test. August 18th I left work early to make sure that she made it to retake the test and I sat in my vehicle for almost an hour. She came out all excited saying that she passed and they will call her with a behind the wheel date. After I make the full payment of $625 I get an email saying that she needed to retake the test. I emailed them back saying she had already retaken the test on Aug 18th. I even called and spoke with Ernie the instructor that gave her the 2nd test and he said yes she did take it and did pass it. I said so why am I receiving this email. He said it just a generic email and everything should be fine. I get another email saying they've searched for it at 2 different locations and still can't find it and for my Daughter to retake the test. I emailed back you all lost her test or did something with it and won't admit it and no I will not make her retake the test when I had to leave my job early to make sure she retook it then I asked for a refund. I told my Daughter and she cried saying I have to do this all over again somewhere else? Something isn't right about this even with Ernie the instructor taking up for her and I believe it has to do with the 8 to 12 week delay for their behind the wheel driving and if not this just bad business.
Fantastic experience: Lou was my daughters driving instructor an he did an awesome job. Teaching her on the back roads in oxford was the best for her
Negative experience: Absolutely no communication. At all. It’s been 4-5 weeks since the actual classroom part of it and no communication when the in car part will be. The only reason anyone should go to this driving school is because there are no other options!!!!
Negative experience: My daughter completed the course paid 450.00 and can't get anyone to give her a certificate. THIS IS A SCAM DON'T PAY THEM ANYTHING
Fantastic experience: I found this school as my second experience for teenager driving and what a difference. Flexibility and reliability. Highly recommend.
Fantastic experience: My daughter just finished her in-car driving lessons with Lou. I believe Lou is an owner. Not only did she really enjoy her experience with her lessons, I also felt like I couldn't have chosen a better school for her. Unfortunately for us, it was the start of summer and my understanding is that all driving schools are very busy, and it can take a long time to get in. Other places I called told me it could be up to 16 weeks to get in! Even The Driving School originally told me 6-8 weeks, but it ended up only being 4-5 weeks. Prior to starting, I sent a handful of emails for various different reasons, and all were answered within 24 hours. When it got closer to the date for her first lesson I was given Lou's phone number to call or text, but I'm a text person so I always texted him. He always replied within a reasonable time (usually immediately) and is always kind and professional. I do know that my daughter was able to tell him what her biggest concerns were and what she felt she needed more practice with... maneuverability of course She has a little bit of social anxiety so she was worried about how that aspect would go, but at the end of her first day she said it was fine, and she always felt comfortable. She really liked working with him. I'd definitely recommend The Driving School. The prices for most places are about the same, but if you want to know you're sending your child with a good person, then this is where you should signup! I saw some of the previous reviews that weren't as positive, and I really do believe they may have mistaken the school for another one. There are several with similar names. Either way, it's 5 stars from my daughter and I. Thank you to The Driving School and to Lou for all of your help and your patience!
Negative experience: Not a good experience. I paid for the in car driving, but they have not issued a certificate to my child. So now she can not get her license. The written test was done through an agency who forwarded the certifcate to the driving school. The driving school also did not issue a notarized letter stating she had completed the required number of hours of driving instruction. So according to the DMV, she has to start all over and I am out $450.00.I have tried to contact via email and phone with no reply. During covid the state would not send anything to the customer. It was all done electronically. And forwarded to you at a cost of $12.00 additional for postage and handling. We did not receive any thing. We were not issued any certificate from either party. Just a letter stating she had completed the course, which is not accepted at the DMV. . It was arranged thru Butler Tech's 5th day experience.
When you have the opportunity, please contact our office via phone or email so that we may try to resolve your issue. A quick search of our email, phone logs and payment records do not find your name as having previously contacted us. There are some inaccuracies with the reply you have left that have us perplexed. First, if by "agency" you are referring to a State-approved online provider, online providers do not "forward" certificates to driving schools. These certificates are submitted by the student/customer themselves. Second, there are no notarized letters (or forms, etc) of any type which driving schools issue. Driving Schools issue certificates of completion to eligible students but these are not letters and are not notarized. Third, if in fact the Ohio BMV informed you that the student would have to "start all over again," that was erroneous information. If a student completes the online portion and is issued a certificate of completion from the online provider, that certification does NOT expire. The students does NOT have to re-take the online course. Further, if a student successfully completes behind-the-wheel training, the student DOES NOT have to re-take the driving hours. Lastly, $450.00 is not a fee for any service we offer. Unless you are able to provide us with additional information regarding the student, we think that you have left this review for the wrong business.
Fantastic experience: Love that they offer a morning session for in class learning during the summer. My son enjoyed it way more than if would have sat behind a computer learning. Instructor was great, along with the gentleman from the railroad that spoke to them. Ernie was his in car instructor and loved him! Would highly recommend!
Negative experience: Awkward condescending phone conversation with the person who called me back.
Negative experience: Instructors text and drive. Not what your children need to do
Negative experience: Waiting on a call for incar
We have reviewed our records and do not find an enrolled or completed student with this name. Also, a search of our email and phone records do not turn up a parent or student with this name. We think that this rating has been made in error, for the wrong business. Please remove this rating.
Negative experience: Very rude on the phone
Positive experience: Excellent instructors
Fantastic experience: My daughter had the best time and learned a lot. She said Mr Wineberg was the best teacher.
