Negative experience: the lady named Lisa and every other person ive talked to in the northern area (if you can even get a call back in less than a week) is very useless in my opinion. i called to see if there was a way i could log my old supervised driving hours since the new law requires drivers ED and i got my car two days after. she says “i dont know how to do it or what ur talking about, so just start a new one” i say maam thats 50 hours of my life im not redoing that; so i ask if theres anyway to bypass that section because i had already done it she said “no… its the law” and starts laughing like i just asked her to end world hunger or something outrageous. i absolutely find the professionalism there at the bottom of the barrel. if you have any other options i recommend you take those and this be your last resort because they are the most disorganized, disrespectful, and unprofessional driving business i think ive ever seen.

Negative experience: If I could give this company zero stars, I would. Parents — run the other direction. This is hands down the most unprofessional, frustrating, and dysfunctional business I have ever dealt with. Here’s our experience: • We signed up in January. My son was supposed to complete four in-car driving sessions. Their system for scheduling is a complete joke. You have to sit on their site and refresh over and over every single day just to try to grab an opening — and by the time you do, it could be weeks away. Unless you are on it constantly, it’s nearly impossible to get a slot. • After months of struggling, my son took time off work in June and July to try and finish. Even then, he was only able to schedule one session because it is nearly impossible to get availability. • To make things worse, they block you out of the site if you don’t finish in six months and then try to charge you an extra $200 fee (nearly 50% of the original cost) just to extend access. This isn’t a customer service issue — it’s a scam. The only reason we didn’t have to pay it was because I made multiple calls and emails for weeks, demanding it be waived. • Communication is an absolute nightmare. You can leave countless voicemails with no return calls. Emails take a week (if they even respond at all), and instead of replying by email they’ll randomly call you once, leave a voicemail, and if you miss it, you’re back to square one. It’s nearly impossible to get an actual human to help you short of driving to one of their offices. • After my son finally finished all four in-car sessions, we STILL couldn’t get his certificate of completion. For three weeks now, I’ve been chasing them. I’ve been told we needed signatures (which my son already completed weeks ago), then we needed to upload his temporary driver’s license (which was uploaded when we first signed up, and again re-uploaded multiple times). They keep asking for the same things that are already on file. Today they’re still telling me they “need more signatures” — when there is literally nothing left to sign. We’ve done everything on our end: paid over $400, completed every session, uploaded every form, signed every document. Yet here we are, weeks later, still without a certificate. This has delayed my son’s ability to schedule his driving test, and the company takes no responsibility for their broken system. To be clear — the actual driving instructors were wonderful. They were professional, kind, and patient. The problem is entirely with the company itself. The scheduling system is broken, communication is nearly nonexistent, and the administrative side is a complete disaster. I’ve gone through this process before with two older sons using Advanced Driving School and Heights Driving School — both were fantastic. Suburban Driving School has been the exact opposite. ⚠️ Parents — if your child needs to complete their in-car sessions on time, do not use this company. Save yourself the stress, the wasted money, and the endless games of phone tag. Suburban Driving School is an absolute nightmare.

Negative experience: My son finished all his classes and we have been waiting weeks for the in car hours schedule to post to schedule his instructor time. He is now weeks from his birthday and no driving hours! Multiple phone calls to the school and no one returns calls. Complete joke, you pay this ridiculous amount of money for these classes and they do not even have driving instructors to provide. Highly recommend using another company!

Negative experience: Ripped my son off about $600. No availability for scheduling in person driving He called and checked online daily. 6 months were up and they said too bad. Wouldn't even give him his online lesson certificate that he paid for and completed. The company is a scam. Everyone him and I spoke to were horrible, rude and condescending. We went to Town and Country, great experience. He got his in person lessons quick and done. Hope Suburban feels proud for ripping off a 16 year old who worked hard to pay for it.

Negative experience: Absolute money making hack. Ivebeen driving for 22 years. I moved to Ohio and was forced to take the driving portion. The cones were entirely too close together and I did bump two of them. Automatic fail she said. THEN, she said I took a wide turn (in a Camry?!), didn't look both ways, which was another lie, I also moved hair out of my face, at a red light. I wasted 100 dollars for them to fail someone with 22 years driving experience. Now I get to pay for 4 hours driving instruction and retake my test in a week. Thank God I don't have to go back to this hack of a school to take it. Absolute garbage. 100% i will be trying everything i can to get my money back. I will be leaving a complaint on the BBB. They said my test would be taken in a completely different car than what they had. I feel so taken for a fool. I have lived in multiple states and I have never failed a driving test. These people are a joke.

Negative experience: Absolutely unhappy with their system. My bother had a last lesson today at 4:45 , as he was driving there at 4:30 he go a text message saying that it had been rescheduled for the next day at 11am while he will be at school! And if I cancel it now it will be less than 24 hours notice and we will have to pay $40 for late cancellation. What??? Absolutely horrible! If you can go somewhere else do so, save yourself some time and money!

Fantastic experience: Mr.Flynn is the best driving instructor he lets you drives what’s best for you and what’s gone to make you the best driver you can be. He also tells you right from wrong but it’s going to help you in the long run. The course and the scheduling my driving course was so easy and they were so respectable and easy to talk too.

Fantastic experience: We had a great experience with Suburban driving school. The Perry branch went out of there way to make sure my daughter could get her last driving class in when her instructor had a family emergency. Made a 16 very happy. Thank you

Negative experience: The in person driving is hard to schedule. Horrible customer service. When we scheduled the in person it was always random places and would tell us instructors names. First time we had scheduled was at rite aid in chardon at 8 am we got here early and NO-ONE came it is 8:15 and still no one we are sitting in the corner of the parking lot so we can see any of the drives they pull in at. They are not reliable. When you call you have to leave messages and hope they even call back after calling them multiple times. Left message about it being now 8:18 am and still no one came and no one here besides us in the parking lot

Negative experience: Terrible company with 0 customer service. They accept too many students and are only able to provide the in class work. impossible to schedule in-car instruction. Daughter had to renew her temps once and they have now expired again. Seeking a transfer and a refund. DO NOT USE THEM!!!

Peter Manring 2 years ago

Negative experience: The driving school does not have enough in car driving instructors so students are unable to schedule their in car instruction. They school will not return my calls and do not answer the phone. I’ve spent 415$ and have gotten 1/2 the instruction. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY WITH THIS COMPANY!

Negative experience: This company has no idea what customer service is. My wife and I have made several phone calls, left several voicemails (because no one ever answers) and we still haven’t received a call back. Our daughter completed all her online work but trying to schedule her actual driving portion is impossible because this company never returns a call or schedules on road lessons. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere, they will take your payment very fast but they will not offer the services you paid for anytime soon. I'm amazed they can stay in business at all.

Negative experience: There is never any behind the wheel instructors available. No one calls to tell you anything. When I called they said to just keep looking online until something become available…. 2 months later and still nothing. What a waste of money and time. My son wanted his license for his 16th birthday so we planned it out perfectly but this school dropped the ball and can’t provide the classes and instruction it’s supposed to provide. Do your job or close your doors!

Negative experience: If you leave a message it takes someone from another company that owns suburban to call you back and it takes 24 hours . To go online to sign up for the in class test is not every day . I was told only Monday and Tuesday. I would say go with a company that is locally owned .

Fantastic experience: Great school, great experience. Deborah was amazing, I learned a ton. So was Steve, I had him for one lesson. Prices are better than most. Would definitely recommend!!!

Judy Ray 5 years ago

Negative experience: They took my money quickly and without question. After my son completed the online classes, we never heard a word about scheduling a test or in car lessons. They don't answer their phone. I wouldn't use them again.
