Major League Driving School: Reviews
Fantastic experience: The lady that work here she has a lot of patience and she is very nice and explained very well ,She make me feel comfortable in my driving test . I recommend this school
Fantastic experience: We had a fantastic experience. My 16 year old flourished and passed his road test with ease.
Negative experience: For some context, last week on Monday I was supposed to have a two hour driving lesson along with a driving test from a driving school in my town, in which a few of my friends went to and claimed they had great experiences. I get there, my lesson was at noon so I arrived about five minutes before. The door is locked. Walls are made out of windows so I’m able to look inside and there’s no one there! Great. I call a few times, no response. I ended up going home and I messaged their FB, where a different lady answered and said she has no clue. I call about an hour later, my driving instructor answers, claims she got into a car wreck and asks me to reschedule. At this point I just shrug it off, sometimes life has their moments and maybe I just wasn’t meant to do my lesson that day. My week was packed so I had to reschedule for next week (today) Today I go again, arrive a couple minutes early, the door is locked, there’s a lil doorbell so I ring that, mind you it’s like 100°F outside so I’m calling her as well, no answer. I wait in the car, call her more, also message the FB page that answered pretty quickly last time, still no answer from any of them. After fifteen minutes, I go home, and it’s been more than an hour with no response or call back. UPDATE - As I was writing this I got a response from their FB page. I was put down at 1pm, despite in the phone call being explicitly told 12:30 to 2:30pm. Something I didn’t think was important to add prior but will be adding now, is that last time the FB page claimed there wasn’t anything written down for 12 (which was my scheduled lesson) and the only thing closest to it was a 2pm road test. If this is clearly a communication error/issue, that is something else to look into.
Fantastic experience: Very friendly and explained the process well.
Negative experience: (RANT/exposing) Not worth getting screamed at while driving, leading to my driving anxiety (and I’m only 15). Definitely not worth the money or the time. Go to a better place. (Edit/reply to owners reply) Trust when I say I’m over the entire situation that happened over a year ago, but I just saw their reply LOL and it’s awful, considering I didn’t add more details of that circus “school” the first time I left a review just to save them the embarrassment. But here it goes... So to correct that hilariously shady reply from the owners all I’m gonna say is: CORRECTION, you did not do anything correct! I could’ve learned everything about driving and more online, without the disgusting roach filled building, screaming when driving, and the stopping at fast food places so the instructor can get a bite. Oh and also, yes the big one is racist(Blackburn I think, the lady who used to be a second grade teacher which is hilarious!) . She may not see it but when she told a student to drive pass a purple house and then proceed to say, “this purple house either belongs to a Mexican or a black person because they love bright colors” then guess what, you're as racist as can be. Also while that lady is on the job she’s constantly on her phone talking to ppl and distracting the drivers telling them to look at her phone while they’re driving!! I literally cannot make this up. So to clarify the “certificate” thing, as the truth has it, everything was prepaid for (for anyone who wonders why I still continued there after all that mess; I don’t waste money, especially if its being payed to a place not worthy of it) so I sucked up the anger and frustration put on a smile at those two gross women, and got my certificate all by myself, they just make us watch videos and then give us print out tests. There’s literally no teaching. I could do that at homeboy a laptop. A student who was also attending this “school” told me the two lady’s in charge talked badly about me and my sister, and I’ve had first hand experience with them talking very badly about the students, especially the first time drivers, so it didn’t surprise me. Another experience I had was when a first time driver who had never driven before was driving with me and Blackburn, that lady yelled at that girl and then talked crap about her for not knowing how to drive!! I felt horrible for the girl, but especially awful that a driving school (which is supposed to teach teens to drive, judges their students!) of course I never saw that girl again, she probably ran for the hills which doesn’t surprise me I would’ve done that too if everything wasn’t already paid for. This may be very petty but because I know that reply was as shady, I do not feel bad one bit. Plz trust when I say go somewhere else or do it online! Once again people, not worth the pennies. *kiss kiss* for owners when they see it, say hi to the roaches for me!
Sorry, you weren't happy with your experience. You did complete our course and receive a certificate so we did something correct.
Negative experience: Very rude place and rude instructors
Nicole we do every thing we can to help our students. If you have an issue with one of our instructors please reach out to us directly and we will address it. We are NOT a rude business with rude people.
Fantastic experience: They have been around a long time. I went here when I was a teenager, my oldest daughter did a couple of years ago now I putting a second child through. Never had an issue.
Thanks so much Syliva!!
Fantastic experience: I'm glad I selected Major League Driving School for my son. They have been really great throughout his driving experience.
Fantastic experience: I have nothing but great things to say. I've had a license for 11 years and it expired, thanks to covid and my own stupidity, and I had to redo everything for the greaaattttttt state of Texas. Due to the driving portion tests being booked until the end of November at the DPS, I opted to pay to do one here. Anyways, they were very friendly and informative. The instructor even taught me how to parallel park. I highly recommend this location for any of your testing needs. The woman was so friendly. Such a breath of fresh air.
Thanks so much, glad we could help!!
Fantastic experience: She is a great instructor. I will definitely be sending my daughter to learn there as well.
Fantastic experience: Very knowledgeable and helpful getting my son started in class.
Fantastic experience: Second time around, good group of people that own/run it very friendly too.
Thanks so much!!
Positive experience: Both of our sons attended the school and we would recommend it.The classroom portion was good but the drive time with sweet, patient Ms. Blackburn was amazing! Our son's confidence behind the wheel just grew daily because of her in car instruction. We split the cost 50/50 with our sons so they took it seriously and had an investment in doing well. Parent taught is becoming popular but don't gamble with your child's safety.
Fantastic experience: I love the teacher. She is so nice and she is a fantastic teacher.
Negative experience: If I could give zero stars I would. We just went in to schedule drive time for my daughter that already has her learner's permit and the lady working the would not even schedule it. So unprofessional!!
This person is not our customer. We are more than willing to have a someone pay for driving lessons and we will schedule them. We are NOT able to give a certificate for a parent taught course which is what this person requested. Our employee explained what we are legally able to do which is the professional thing to do.
Fantastic experience: Great program. Very well scheduled and good at giving material. Learned so much about being safe on the road. Would very recommend this!
Fantastic experience: best driving school ever!<3
Thank you bunches
Fantastic experience: Mrs Blackburn is absolutely amazing the only reason there are bad reviews are because ignorant teenagers think they can get by with the minimum and put no effort and get offended when they are called out on it if you want a good experience act like an adult be respectful if you cant do that beg your parents to teach you
Thanks William!!!
Fantastic experience: Don't listen to negative reviews, I went to school here and had no problems, I was even a bit sad when I left, the ladies that work here are not "rude" They just don't let kids get by with minimal effort. They do their best to make the student understand and act according to the rules of the road. If you acted professional, and were not goofing off, you would have gone through the class with no problems.
Thank you Jayson!
Negative experience: Don’t come here a waste of money and if your a beginner driver they’ll complain about it....
We offer both classoom and behind the wheel lessons for all levels of students. If you had a bad experience by one of our employees please direct it to ownership, as we have not had this complaint.
Negative experience: Seriously terrible people. Rude, unprofessional and a total scam. DO NOT!!! SERIOUSLY DO NOT GIVE THESE TERRIBLE PEOPLE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY. They give driving classes at night.....that is so unsafe and unprofessional they need to close down before someone hurts themself under their supervision.
We apologize if you did not have a good exoerience. We have been in business for over 20 years and are not running a scam. As the owner, I would have addressed any issues had I known. All students are required by the state of Texas to drive 10 hours at night. Since, many of our students are in school during the day we drive in the evenings as well as on Saturdays.
Negative experience: Honestly it isn’t worth the money. One of the ladies working is horrible. The other isn’t so bad. One of the teachers actually hits you, not hard but little swats. I feel like the screaming isn’t worth it. I would suggest another driving school. Plus one instructor is always on her phone while we are driving and preaching about god and how great her family is. I would really say to go elsewhere. I also believe the ladies are lowkey racists. They treat us people of color differently then the white kids. Again, put your money elsewhere!!
Sorry to hear you had a bad experience.
We do not condone the behavior you mentioned and have addressed it accordingly. All of our instructors have many years of experience educating students. We have over 20 years in Kaufman County with a sound reputation and have and would never treat ANYONE differently!
Negative experience: They teach the kids about DEATH here, tell them while they are driving that they are going to die, kill other people and will end up in the morgue... Not much learning otherwise ....
