Fantastic experience: Took my Son (16 y/o) to PTC for training and SCCA accreditation. The instructor staff are highly decorated professionals with decades of experience from many different disciplines of pro racing. I was honestly quite jealous he had such an all star squad for his first time in an open wheel car. Huge thank you to the whole team for your professionalism, how invested you are to see the students succeed, and your dedication to safety & doing it right. Fantastic experience: Awesome experience! The track and setting are wonderful and unique. The managers, instructors and staff provide great instruction and support. Very seasoned crew of racing guys who have loads of experience to share. E.g. a lot of the team here have connections back to the original Skip Barber School. If you are serious about racing come here! Or if it’s on your bucket list, do it ! Can’t go wrong. They offer a lot of seat time for the price.

Fantastic experience: Had a blast, learned a lot. Keith and his staff are GREAT teachers with lifetimes of experience. I'm a big guy (6'3, 250), and I fit in the cars. My friends and I did the 2 day school, and had as much track time as we could handle. The cars are fast, and fun. YOU WILL LEARN A LOT! Check them out, I'm sure you'll be as satisfied as I am.

Fantastic experience: I had not been in a racecar or on a racetrack in many years. I've been thinking of getting back into it and wanted to make sure I brushed up on the fundamentals before I start going wheel to wheel again. Polecat's two day racing school provided the perfect opportunity for me at the right price point. The instructors had me feeling up to speed and comfortable in the car again after just a couple of exercises. I was even learning things I had not learned before as a championship winning driver. I will say I would have liked more open lapping during the program but I think that's expected more from the two day advanced school type stuff.

Fantastic experience: The instructors and staff were great! I had an operation a couple of months ago, and gained some weight as I was healing. The staff helped me get into the car and buckle up! I barely fit in the race-car! After the driving experience they helped me out of the car, brought me water (It was hot) and fed us all lunch! We learned the correct lines of the track from the chief instructor driving around the track in a van. We also were able to view certain portions of the track while the 1st group negotiated the curves and elevation changes. After lunch we were awarded a certificate of completion!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely my best driving/racing school experience. Not only do all the instructors have world class pedigrees in all forms of racing (road course, endurance, oval, historic, open wheel, karts etc), they are so welcoming and bring a great sense of humor. What makes this school stand out to me is the amount of time in the car you get. Yes, there is some initial classroom time (~1-1.5hrs top) to go over the basics and introductions of the instructors, but after that it is teaching on the track in the cars. Starting with the controlled laps behind the pace car to learn the track then slowing progressing. The cars are so much fun to drive and you get to use a real sequential gearbox. The biggest takeaway for me from the school is car control. Whatever they have done to the cars it works for teaching better than any other car I have driven, to drive them you have to balance them. Amazing experience!

Fantastic experience: My wife and I are true novices to racing, and we couldn't have felt more at ease with Keith and team despite driving a real race car on an unfamiliar and very challenging road course. The instructors are knowledgeable with incredible pedigrees, and they truly want to share their passion for racing with others. Very quickly that passion became infectious. You feel like a kid trying to impress a parent when you come back in after a session and the instructor has a big smile on their face because you incorporated their feedback. This is a real race car without modern comforts or driver aids like ABS but by lunch time on the first day of our 2-day adventure, it feels like the only way to drive...period. The worst part of the whole experience BY FAR is hopping in your street car to drive home. It feels so slow, unresponsive and lazy, like you are driving a city bus. I cannot wait to get back out there with Keith as fast as I can. If you are nervous that it's too much for you (or too basic), don't be. My wife and I had virtually no track experience and my buddy had 3 years of racing in these same cars. Despite such a wide range of experience, all 3 of us had an amazing time and received great instruction along the way.

Fantastic experience: From the first inquiry this team responded and made the booking process so easy. They worked with me to make my husbands 60th birthday extremely special. We all went to watch Wade race and the team (especially Keith Watts) was so engaging, making sure our kids and grand kids got to sit in the race cars for pictures with their Papa L!! :) We made friends and tons of memories. The instructors were some of the nicest and coolest people I have met and were incredibly good at translating their extensive experience in racing into feedback that was easy to understand and then implement. Every session I found myself getting more comfortable, confident, and understanding everything better and better. If you love racing and want to race, this is the place. No egos just a pure love of the craft. I always felt safe and ready to push harder. Thanks PTC! Ready to come back already.

Fantastic experience: Coming into this experience as a total novice, I was surprised at how fast I learned to comfortably maneuver the car and feel confident on the track. There was lots of one on one to get directions, pointers and feedback. The instructors were really fun, and invested in us having a good understanding of the car, and making sure everyone was safe. Would absolutely recommend to anyone of any skill level, me and my girlfriends had a blast!

Fantastic experience: I had a blast doing the PTC Driving School! I was a little nervous at first and after a few laps, quickly warmed up! These instructors are the best in the nation and made us ladies feel so comfortable! This track and the grounds are beautiful and definitely first class. If you are interested as a beginner or an advanced driver, you have to sign up for a class and check out this school and track yourself! I can’t wait to go back for my next class!

Fantastic experience: I recently attended the 2 Day Beginner Racing School at PTC. After a couple of years of playing racing video games and racing simulators (iRacing, Gran Turismo, Forza, etc.), my wife pushed me to make my dream a reality. Holy cow, what a life changing experience! The iRacing Skip Barber "Skippy" car that I had driven virtually for 2 years behaves exactly like the real thing! The classes include instruction from championship winning coaches. The cars are freshly rebuilt from the ground-up, and in phenomenal shape thanks to the crew that they keep on standby during class weekends. The whole operation is a shining example of what a racing school can be when you have a dedicated private world-class 2.1 mile beautiful asphalt ribbon built in the middle of the rolling hills outside Lynchburg. Who needs an exclusive golf course when you can rip around on just as beautiful of a venue as PTC? Some people may be a little skittish at the price, but due to everything included in the weekend (the gorgeous track, the crew, the cars, the food, etc. etc. etc.), this race school is an absolute bargain. PTC is amazing and I frequently scream it from the rooftops to all who will listen. If you're a gearhead, a car nut, or a just race fan who has dreamt of what it feels like to drive a formula car, do yourself the biggest favor and save up your pennies to have a life changing experience.

Fantastic experience: The equipment was flawlessly prepared, the staff was helpful at every level, the instructors were masters of their craft and the race track itself was a hoot to drive. Probably the most outstanding part of the experience was the instructors ability to communicate with us in a way that was extremely insightful and understandable. Almost any racer would benefit from the Polecat Academy experience.
