Negative experience: Honestly, I would not recommend Mark to anyone looking for a driving instructor. My experience was extremely disappointing and uncomfortable. To start, he showed up three hours late to our lesson without any communication or apology. That alone already felt incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful of my time. Once the lesson began, things only got worse. Mark was impatient and quick to anger, constantly snapping at me over small mistakes — even though I’m a beginner and obviously still learning. I understand driving can be stressful, but his energy was intense and made it really hard to focus or feel comfortable behind the wheel. What really crossed the line, though, were the inappropriate and racially insensitive comments he made during the drive. It was shocking and made me feel disrespected and unsafe. That kind of language has no place in a learning environment, especially one where trust is so important. Overall, this experience felt more stressful than helpful. I left the lesson feeling more discouraged than when I started. If you’re looking for someone who’s supportive, respectful, and actually wants to teach — I’d suggest finding someone else. This was not it.

Fantastic experience: Mark and Trish are absolute sweet hearts. They take great care for their students. Mark taught me everything I needed to know about driving. Especially when coming time to take the road test Mark calm down my nerves and I passed my road test. Highly recommend using Mtv!!!

Negative experience: I registered my daughter to receive driving lessons from MTV Driving school only after getting rave reviews from a bunch of friends. They lied to me and scheduled my daughter with an instructor who no longer works there and who also does not currently have her license to teach.  On the day of the first scheduled lesson, I received a phone call saying that the instructor was sick and they had to reschedule my sessions.   Meanwhile, they had not prepped her permit and had no intentions of providing her the service that was promised and paid for.  They have since denied my request to be refunded.   Do yourself a favor and stay away!    Don’t get tricked by their false kindness and lies.  Go somewhere else! If I can give them 0 stars for lying, stealing and doing nothing they promised, I would.

Negative experience: If I could rate MTV Driving school with zero stars, I would. I took a recommendation from a reliable source to use this company. Unfortunately I am not having a good experience. First off, I walk in to book my appointment for my child and was not offered a seat. I sat on the floor to fill paperwork out while the secretary's daughter stayed in the only seat available. That should have been my first red flag Second, due to unfortunate circumstances with family I had to cancel the lessons while they were paid in full with cash. The school did not have to go to dmv and lessons were canceled days after appointment was made. I asked for a refund and was told yes by the secretary. When trying to collect payment I was told the person has covid and would not be in the office for 2 weeks. I waited the 2 weeks contacted again and was told the owner Mark has to meet me in person for a refund. It has been over a month and the owner Mark has not called. I have gone to the office during regular business hours and no one is there and I have called multiple times with no answer or response to voicemails left. How this company is still in business is beyond me. Now on to the Better Business Borough and Middlesex County Small Claims. I would NEVER RECOMMEND this driving school.

Negative experience: Horrible company and customer service Mark is a disgrace.. I have been waiting for driving lessons for 7 months for my son and they have not set up anything and have had tons of pathetic excuses. Do not use this company or deal with Mark

Negative experience: The time spent with this lovely instructor named mark was just insane. The first time meeting mark and doing lessons was not fun. He become aggressive with me when I accidentally went straight instead of left. Then told me I’m going to take you home. I asked him why and gave me a vague response. For someone who claims to know customer service and understands, I didn’t see that. Then he asked me do you have a mental disability? I couldn’t believe the words he said out of his mouth. I told him no. I got harassed by men online, in person you name it, but this was way too far and rude. I never met a instructor in my life that was rude to a extent. So I went to a different instructor named George he was a lot more patient with me and I appreciate it. For months I doubted myself thinking I can’t do this. But I did after practicing on my own I got the hang of everything let alone parallel parking. I would suggest a different school over mtv. I wouldn’t like a instructor whose way shorter then me to think he’s a tough guy. Telling me all these rude comments.

Fantastic experience: Anyone with a child about to get their learner's permit, I cannot recommend Chris @ M.T.V Driving School enough. She was absolutely amazing with my son!! She has a very calm and warm demeanor, and is very clear and throughout in explaining everything to each one of her students. We can't thank you enough, Chris for preparing my son for this next journey!

Fantastic experience: My support towards this business is gleaming. I love MTV. The teaching technique is unique to other driving schools because you are taught defensive driving and little tips and tricks to pass the road test effectively. I don't think I would've been able to get through parallel parking without Mark's cone trick. I was recommended by a friend, and I'm so glad I listened. Mark is hilarious but firm, and I think that's why my driving is as perfect as can be at 17. Reading through the reviews, I see a lot of complaining about his harshness, and I think I can honestly say that it’s a little ridiculous. Mark is firm in his teaching because people underestimate how much others on the road disregard their safety. With all due respect, I highly doubt that a driving instructor emphasizing safety on the road can be anywhere near as emotionally damaging as a, God forbid, brutal car accident. I had initially booked six hours for my permit, then another six right before my road test. I passed my road test the first time around. I am very grateful for MTV and think not enough credit is given. I am not a parent giving their hearsay opinion; I am a student who experienced all of this first hand and I am telling you to Book with MTV, Book with Mark.

Fantastic experience: Dear MTV Driving School, I want to thank Diane and Mark at MTV Driving School. When I called the school to schedule lessons, Diane scheduled me right in and was very professional and pleasant to speak with. She made me feel like I could really do this, Mark was my instructor for all of the lessons. Mark is a very good teacher and he is very straightforward, clear and direct with his guidance. Driving on the roadways is a very serious thing, it is important to drive correctly and safely. If you want to learn how to drive and learn a lots of tips about the roadways that you wouldn’t typically think of.. then, call MTV Driving School for the best results! I want to personally thank Mark again, for really helping me overcome one of my biggest fears and for teaching me how to drive the right way and how to drive safely. And now.. Negative experience: place literally just does not answer the phone and if they call back, it's days later. supposedly opens at 9am yet no one is there until the late afternoon.

Fantastic experience: Mark and his staff have helped 200s of kids in Old Bridge get through this process...during the pandemic some people want everything now, but aren't smart enough to know that the school is at the mercy of the MVC hours and rules

Negative experience: I do not recommend this school. Communication is very poor. You can never get a hold of anyone, all calls are directed to voicemail and they will call you at some time (if ever). I had to call MarK back a few times because he never called me back after leaving a message. He also stole my money after I gave him a check, in good faith, but he never provided driving test car nor the 1hr refresher. I don't know how he stays in business. My daughter passed her driving test, no thanks to this school!

Negative experience: Don’t communicate with customers at all.

Fantastic experience: MTV was highly recommended to me by several parents. From my first phone call with Mark to meeting with Brenda to get a schedule for my 16 yr old to begin his 6hr driving sessions MTV has been excellent. My phone call was returned within 3 hours and I even received a call back off hours. Brenda takes time to explain the process from beginning to end and offers helpful insight. My son couldn't have been happier with his instructor Mrs. Hilfman. She was easy going, encouraging and puts your child and you as a parent at ease. They even worked his lessons around his baseball schedule. At the conclusion, you receive a phone call regarding how your child did and where extra attention needs to be paid if necessary. Thank you Mark, Brenda and Mrs. Hilfman for making our first experience on the road a positive one!

Negative experience: My daughter came home crying because of the instructor was yelling and cursing at her. Do not spend your hard earned money at this school. Pick another driving school who really care and have patience to teach your teens. I will give zero star if that is allowed.

Fantastic experience: I've had great experiences with MTV Driving School. They are very helpful, answered all my questions and put my mind at ease. I've used Mrs. Hilfman for my son and will be using her again for my daughter. She is patient, funny and helps the kids relax and enjoy their driving experience while learning how to drive.

Negative experience: Terrible instructor

Negative experience: The driver pulled out of a Walmart parking lot cursing off another driver for being too slow, if you're looking for a driving school please choose someone who has some decency. You'd think a driving instructor would know better.
