Officers Driving School: Reviews
Negative experience: If I could give zero I would paid for the classes and couldn't schedule the last in car lesson, I was only able to schedule 3 of the 4 he needed in a six months span because apparently they don't have drivers and seeing as he didn't get his last in car lesson I am out the money that I spent and he will either have to re-enroll with the classes or wait til he is 18. And the in car lessons he was able to take were clear in Wadsworth even tho we are in Wooster.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely the best experience I’ve had with a driving class! They were chatty and made me feel super comfortable ! The owners have changed since the last year ( so ignore the bad reviews) I’d 100% recommend going there to do your driving test ! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Fantastic experience: Angie was such a nice person she had good tips and a good work ethic I appreciate all her help and training
Negative experience: I would never use this company again. It has been a very long 5 months. I used another company with my older child and will go back there for my youngest. This company has been a joke.
Negative experience: My son took online classes over the summer last year and he had to make up some. By September he was finally done. I have tried on countless occasions to schedule in car. Signed up for every email notification or any other notification I could get. Nothing not even in the spam folder. They said I need to check back periodically well I work 2 jobs i dont have time to check back periodically. I called today April 2nd 2025 and guess what his classes are now expired because I wasn't online 24/7. They won't refund money but they will definitely take more to do classes again. Even though his permit expires in April. This is by far the worst driving school I have dealt with.
Positive experience: I signed my grandson up for this class. Scheduling the in car is almost impossible. They almost never have slots open. I check daily. Then when they do have slots they are during school hours and you have to take the student out of regular classes to the drivers school then pick then up and take them back to school. The schedule is terrible and almost never available. He completed the in class months before we could even schedule an in-car. I think they need to hire more driving instructors. Just my opinion. Other than that the school is fine.
Negative experience: Extremely limited on in car driving schedule
Fantastic experience: Best driving school in town. Yeah it takes a minute to get in your drive time because they are busy. But they do go above and beyond to get things done for. My son is taking his driving test through them so we don't have to go out of town. Hands down amazing.
Negative experience: The gentleman who was an "instructor" that rode along for my test was completely lying about what he failed me on! Infact the actual BMV record of the test doesn't even show what he said he failed me for. There has to be a way to hold these guys accountable and prevent this thing from happening. Maybe a dash cam...idk??
Negative experience: This is nothing short of a racket and the owner is discourteous and unprofessional. Scheduling is random if not to the point of an impossibility. When called to seek information on how to find a way to function in this ridiculous system, we were told some clients are on their third round of enrollment and that our child is no more special than any others. Consider that each enrollment is $450 and lasts six months. He indicated he has no clue when the schedules open up, but advised us his school is a “family effort” and each member should check their phones multiple times daily to see if spots come open. His best guess is that they will open next “in several weeks.” His piece of parting advice was to sign up for multiple driving schools at once or wait until our child turns 18. These people are charlatans and thieves.
Negative experience: The man sitting at the desk with the eye disability needs to realize people younger ones and teens have never dud that kind of thing before paperwork test they're nervous and to talk to them rudly is uncalled for and ignorant. It's OK to calmly and nicely repeat or show not give attitude and act like the person is dumb. Don't work with public if you're going to be a prick
Negative experience: Keep trying to schedule the driving portion, but not enough spaces we’re created. It’s been months since the in class portion and we’ve only been able to schedule one driving session.
Fantastic experience: We did the online course, (not the online class) and my kids loved it! It was fun and informative, and they learned a lot. The instructors were kind and great teachers. 100%
Fantastic experience: Nice online system to sign up for in car time. Quick response time to email inquiry. This is our first time thru, so we are unsure and they have been very helpful.
Negative experience: Not a good experience at all. If you have any issues it is a 24 hour turn around time for responses. Don't expect them to be helpful or pleasant either.
Negative experience: I would look around for a better and different program then what this place has to offer. The in class goes fast but trying to get on the schedule for the 8 hour in-car lessons (for a class of 8-10) is horrendous and the worst. You have to stay logged in on their poor website that seems like was a child's unfinished project, to try to get on a schedule to complete the in car portion. My kids temps expired before completing the class during the summer break. Now they will have to miss school to get this completed. Look for a place that schedules its in-car according to the amount out of students they have. DON'T WASET YOUR TIME HERE!!!
Fantastic experience: The state of Ohio has made the procedure of obtaining a drivers license a challenge, thankfully Schwartz/Officers Driving School is there to help you navigate the process. Anytime we had a question they were to give us the guidance we needed. They went over and above to get my son through the in-car driving so that he could take his driving test and pass the first time with confidence. I highly recommend Schwartz/Officers Driving School!
Fantastic experience: Super nice driving instructor!!! Highly recommend!
Negative experience: Have contacted several times regarding BTW sessions. So far we have only been able to schedule one session, which came available after I contacted the BBB. They refuse to even answer the BBB, and will not keep up on scheduling sessions. Now their site says they aren't accepting 8 hr BTW program, and that it will take 8 to 12 weeks to complete. Still not communication, and when asked about when more drive times will become available, they say that the scheduling manager needs to put more on the schedule. The BBB has advised that I contact the Attorney General, which will be my next step if they do not start communicating, and allowing people to schedule for the future.
Negative experience: They will not return phone calls to schedule in car instruction. They take the money and do not deliver.
Fantastic experience: Very professional and friendly staff. Answered emails and returned phone calls in a very timely manor. My son's driving instructor Kellie was great. I love the fact we could schedule our own drive times and was able to get them done within a couple of weeks after I had paid. Worth the trip from Ashland to Wooster for drive times!!!
Negative experience: I took my drivers test recently after I took my in car lessons. I never drove down town Wooster. I automatically failed my test due to the fact that I was never taught how to drive down town. I had 3 in car sessions, 2 out of the 3 we're cancelled and rescheduled. I was taken on a road that I have never seen. I failed my test because I was never taught how to correctly drive downtown Wooster. I have to take a remediation course and more in car before I am allowed to take my drivers license test again. I think this is completely unfair. I paid to be taught how to drive. The driving instructor I had failed to do their job as an instructor.
Negative experience: I was tried to contact the officers driving class in month of May and they mentioned that there was no slot available untill September. I was looking for the BTW training for 2 hrs. Then I tried in september after calling and emailing many times , finally I got one slot ..I was mentioned to them clearly that I need driving experience in downtown, wooster and I am working if possible kindly schedule my appointment in Saturday or Sunday but they denied. Finally , I booked my appointment on Tuesday to take off from my office. The lady who came and taught me, she was really nice but she took me in outscut of wooster and near by areas. I mentioned to her , I need experience to drive in downtown because the test will have in that areas and I would like to know the rules though it is new for me and not familiar about roads too. Then, she told me then you should book your appointment in weekends. I got only 10 minutes chance to drive in wooster downtown. But I told her , I would contact the classes back if I have any trouble to get my liscence. I tried yesterday to call them, again the situation was the same....I would give only 2 stars for this classes.
We're sorry but we have indefinitely suspended in-car offerings for adults. We must first provide the services for teens who are required to take the program and are currently working on recruiting and training new instructors. We hope to be fully staffed and ready to serve the adult public by January of 2020.
Fantastic experience: I signed up for adult behind the wheel lessons with officers and also paid to use their vehicle for my driving test (which i passed on my first attempt!) I would like to commend Officers for their punctuality, accessibility, communication and driving test tips. Thanks guys!
Thank you for the kind words. Congrats on passing your test on the first attempt! Continue you drive safely and be well.
Positive experience: I signed my daughter up for in car and scheduled all 4 leasons. The day of the first lesson they canceled, without a reason. I rescheduled that lesson. Now a couple days before the scheduled 2nd lesson which is now the 1st, it was also canceled.... so if keeping a schedule is important to you then you may want to look at other options! Update: They took care of the situation in a professional manner!
Thank you for your comments and for working with us on a solution. The cancellations were unusual and even more so that it happened twice. They are definitely the exception and not the norm for us. We sincerely apologize that this happened . I am glad that we were able to come to a solution and hope the rest of the training and service at Officers is nothing but a 5-star experience for you and your student.
