Fantastic experience: I wish I could give more than 5 stars as Carolina Driving School deserves it! William, who owns Carolina Driving School, is absolutely a life saver, awesome, patient and cares about the "students" no matter of their age. (He's been doing this for over 30 years!) My daughter decided that she wanted to get her driver's license. We tried another driving school but the instructor wasn't the "right fit". My daughter researched and found Carolina Driving School. I saw the star rating and read the reviews but I didn't really care as he was willing to teach my daughter how to drive. William told us what he charges for 1 hour driving lessons. I felt that price was very reasonable! My daughter scheduled her weekly driving lessons with William. BEST DECISION EVER!!!!! I can't thank him enough! He gave her the confidence and encouragement to get her license. He even let my daughter use his vehicle for the driving test. My daughter passed the driver's test and is now a licensed driver thanks to William!!! I definitely recommend Carolina Driving School!!!! My daughter said: He was good. Very patient. Gave good road tips and offered guidance while on the roads!

Fantastic experience: The best driving school around the Winston Salem area. Driving instructor is always on time, gives notice if they are behind in schedule. Works with your schedule . The rates are great price compared to the competitors. ***** Plus they allow you to use there car for driving exam at the DMV. ***** (No other driving school offers this.) Thank you again "Carolina Driving School" for helping me get my license.

Fantastic experience: William is extremely nice and knowledgeable. I'm 19 and decided to take a lesson with him to gain some confidence and he went above and beyond. He made me feel very comfortable and I picked up some great advice.

Fantastic experience: My son took this class and driving class with Mr. Reagan. We loved that he was flexible and structure of the entire curriculum was great. My son was very comfortable with driving with Mr. Reagan. The cost is reasonable and no long waits. Would highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: POSITIVES: Mr.Reagan is a really nice and welcoming person, He knows that all of the new students he will be teaching will be nervous and anxious in class But he teaches as if you have been attending his classes for years and as if you know him as a friend. I found myself excited each day to go learn from him. The way he teaches is not stressful at all. He mainly shares stories that teach you to have common sense and shows really interesting videos to teach you on separate skills when you begin driving. He has over 30 years of experience, and I can tell he dedicates every day to teaching people how to drive! From about 7 am to 8 pm, he works his butt off to teach people how to drive, and not once has he been in a crash accident with a student! He is very knowledgeable in what he teaches! THE NEGATIVE: The only complaint I would have is that his classroom is in the basement of a home. I have heard stories of rats, and I personally have seen cockroaches in the corners of the room. The bathroom is really odd, the toilet is on top of stairs and is kinda hard to use, especially with the ceiling of the bathroom being about 6 feet tall. OVERALL: Even though the environment can be a little odd, I would say it is 100% better than any other course in the triad. Mr. Reagan himself makes everything a 5star, and I hope you will decide to choose his driving school over someone else's

Negative experience: I don’t recommend this place at all, he has 16 kids in a basement with mold, and a mouse interrupted the class, after the 1st I cancelled the classes for my daughter, I paid $590, and he only returned $440, he kept $150.00 for the 1st day and $30 for the application fee, he should be removed from teaching, the class environment is hazardous conditions is a Violation for these kids to be under.

Fantastic experience: Mr. Reagan was an excellent instructor with over 30 years experience. He understood that I was a little nervous but he was able to assure me that everything would be okay. He gave great tips and advice. Had a one hour driving session with him and even though I was nervous I started to feel a bit relaxed as we continued to drive. He picked me up at my home and dropped me back which was very convenient for me. At the end of the driving session he was able to tell me the areas I needed more practice on. I booked another session with him before my road test. I feel a bit more confident about doing the road test. Thank your Mr.Reagan!

Negative experience: Horrible communication. I asked Mr Regan months ago about drivers Ed for the summer and he didn’t reach back out to me until after all the seats were filled. A few people recommended me to him and they said they had a great experience with him but if I’m going to wait this long I’ll just go somewhere else. Don’t recommend this place at all.

Fantastic experience: My son went into the Military without his drivers license. He was coming home on leave and wanted to get his license and a car...in a week. I called around ALOT and couldn’t find any business willing to work with the time constraint we were under. I called Carolina Driving School. Mr Regan got out his schedule book and gave me a time slot for every day we needed. Mr. Regan spent 2 full hours a day with my son. Each day I would ask him what he learned and how it went. He said Mr. Regan was an amazing teacher who explained everything completely. When the day came for him to do his driving test for the DMV my son was very confident in his knowledge of the laws and the road. When the driving test was over the instructor told him he did an excellent job! That’s good since we had already bought his car and he had to leave for his base the next morning. A week after he got to his base they had a bad snowstorm. I held my breath.....but nothing. He’s doing great! I’m about to hire Mr. Regan for our next son. I’m confident in his ability to convey the information they need to be safe drivers. And he’s patient with questions.♥️

Fantastic experience: I contacted Mr. Reagan for driving lessons for my grandson who is 19, just graduated from high school, had not had the in-school driving lessons or classes as he was an athlete and had conflicts due to practice, and had never been behind the wheel of a car. He was somewhat nervous about driving because of this but was excited about and anxious to get his permit and eventually his drivers license. Mr. Reagan supplied him with some questions to study to get his permit. He studied those as well as the driving book from DMV and was successful in getting his drivers permit. He just completed his driver lessons with Mr. Reagan after about 2 months of training and is continuing to practice with me and his mom. All of us were extremely pleased with the driver training Mr. Reagan offered my grandson. Mr. Reagan offered him excellent training lessons, was very patient, gave great advice regarding driver safety and practice, and most of all, he helped my grandson to feel comfortable and more relaxed behind the wheel, and helped him to gain the confidence he needed to move forward. Thank you, Mr. Reagan for all your help!!! You're the Best!!!

Fantastic experience: We decided to use Carolina Driving School for our teen daughter after it was highly recommended to us by a friend of ours. Bill was very accommodating between mine and my teen's busy schedules. You get what you pay for within the school system, which is why we chose to look for a privately owned driving school. His directions were clear and concise for the in-class and driving portions of the course, (which is why I was quite surprised by the other reviews, but I suppose not everyone is capable of following directions). Bill was very flexible with his schedule; we decided to complete more than the six hour minimum of driving time, so our daughter could have more time practicing with a professional. Our daughter also commented that Bill was very patient. We greatly appreciated this, due to her being a bit nervous in the car. Our experience with Carolina Driving School was wonderful, and we plan to keep using his services for our other two children in the years to come.

Negative experience: Had a poor experience and would not recommend. Initial quote for 2 sessions was one price and we ended paying double the quote. Unfortunately, after 4 hours of teaching, felt there was very little instruction provided.

Carolina Driving School

The price was quoted for a two hour session, we did another two hour session, that translates to four hours. Actually, they have only paid for a two hour session. The other two hour session has beeb billed to them.

The person being taught was an "aupaire" from a foreign country and was in dire need of acclimation to NC driving. If they wish their children to be safe.

The wife was informed of the situation and was the only one talked to, not the husband. So I don't really know what she discussed with him!!

Having instructed over 6000 students, my skills are valued by many.

Negative experience: I don't normally write reviews on businesses but for this particular business I thought it necessary to do so. While the course itself is applicable to North Carolina law and most of the students passed her permit test the first time it is probably the most unprofessional business I have ever dealt with. While applying for the course it took several days to get a reply back just to get my child scheduled and signed up for the course. After the written portion of the course we were told the grades whether it be a pass or fail would be available within a day . This however was not the case it took almost a week and multiple phone calls and emails in order to get the results of the test . When I did finally receive an email back confirming that my child did pass the written portion it was a three worded email . The email it's self and I quote this from the email it's self " a pathetic 73 ". That is all that the email enclosed nothing for the student needs to study or the student pass the students failed I had to review and do my own research to determine whether or not my child past. Which she did pass It would just seem that a business that is been in business for over 30 years would be a little better and a lot more professional than to send an email such as that to a 15-year-old The website says pick up and drop off but I had to take my student to every class every time which is not an issue and was easily done with the help of family and friends but if a business advertises pick up and delivery of the students you would think that it would do it And from the instructors words himself only about 50% of the students pass the test the first time I understand we're dealing with teenagers but it is a driving permit test if the instructor is doing his job with his classroom portion then it should be about 80% passing and the other 20% would be from students not starting a 50% passing rate is a reflection of the instructor so in keeping with the mind of the instructor and email I received for the pathetic 73 I give them a pathetic one star Have a good day

Carolina Driving School

1) All students are given a packet of questions and answers (STUDY MATERIALS), on the first day of class. The class duration for the weekend classes are three weekends. If a student is interested in doing well , then studying is the logical progression. Those who study do very well, those who don't (?).

2) My students do very well at DMV very seldom failing the permit test, at least 98 percent passing and maybe higher. Feedback from parents confirms this!!

3) Actually two autistic students in a class together scored an 86 and 95.

4) The class in question, one failed (autistic student) with a 65 but was allowed to retake the test, one with a low score of 73, one with a high score of 96 !! This was a class of 18 students.

5) Teens coming to class certainly must have transportation furnished by their parents and/or guardians. School buses don't service us.

6) DMV employees state that around 48-50 percent of their clients fail the permit test the first time. These are the kids from public schools.

7) I never send emails to the students, only the students' parents or guardians!!

8) All final score emails have the next steps listed on the emails. These are steps that must be completed before the driving is scheduled.

9) The student in question was offered a study guide and a requirements sheet, when she received her "certificate", but she stated that she didn't need it!!
