Greg's Driving School of Frederick: Reviews
Negative experience: Unimpressive. Scheduling in car lessons is very difficult and nearly impossible to do close to the school portion. Further, they advertise 2-hour in-car driving lessons. My child has been dropped off and picked up within 90 minutes for both lessons she’s had so far. That’s an hour of driving she’s already not been provided as advertised.
Negative experience: betty is a terrible and mean instructor. made me feel stupid even though i was new to driving and made a innocent mistake. literally left the in person driving lesson crying and she couldn't be bothered to apologize. if you want a pleasant experince, dont book with her.
Negative experience: My first two lessons were great with very friendly and helpful drivers. My last day, however, i had a stiff gas pedal (which the instructor was aware of yet still let affect my grade), misaligned wheels that my instructor didn't listen to me about, and my instructor kept telling me to go over the speed limit.
Fantastic experience: Daughter had a fabulous experience with both Steve and Ethan. They were both amazing and helpful instructors. And I couldn’t be happier with the experience that she had. They were patient and gave her tips for the driving test and made her feel just more confident behind the wheel.
Negative experience: Worse place ever. Go at your own risk. They advertise that you get 6 hours a session on the road after you take the virtual class. My 17 year old called me after 30 minutes saying they were bringing her back. Now mind you she’s with the driving instructor. He put the child on the road first instead of taking her to a parking lot to see her driving levels. RED FLAG…Then he lied and said he took her to Nymeo stadium parking lot and too many cars was there. Not true because I just drove over there as soon as I left and there were hardly no cars there. The child’s confidence went down through the ground after the 30 minute lesson with this so-called instructor. The child had no confidence at all. He killed it. She was not the same when she returned. Please help me understand a child with a driving instructor and does not have a solid driving foundation get returned 30 minutes after what should have been a two hour session and claims he’s afraid for his life. That’s Bull ****.The child had driven the day before with her father and it went well for a student that was trying to get a driving foundation. The instructor took advantage of my daughter by giving her only 30 minutes if I had not called Customer Service she would’ve been out of two hours scandalous.
Fantastic experience: I had my second in car lesson (parking) with instructor Ethan Weiss and he was a really good instructor. He was really chill and understanding, even when I hit the curb. I'm pretty nervous during these in car lessons but it was fine this time.
Positive experience: The Dark Hair girl in the front is very RUDE... I had to ask questions regarding my daughters attendance, mind you I'm 36 so apparently things have changed drastically in 20 years.. the Instructor and the other girl at the front are kind, but that Dark Haired girl needs real training because I asked 3 questions over 3 days based on my MIL needing to know etc... my first 2 questions the Blonde/Brown hair girl answered (They No Longer let you use the Greg's cars for your MVA Driving test which used to be at an additional cost, my daughters attendance would be taken so she's accounted for properly) pleasant... The Dark Haired girl acts like she CANNOT BE BOTHERED with anything but whatever book she was reading and how rude of us to have questions for her when we've paid almost $500 for our children to attend... The nerve of the parent to need clarity... So my questions to her were can I schedule my daughters in car with the instructor? She said nobody put up their schedule so she doesn't have any dates.. so I asked, "You don't do 3 consecutive days for 2 hours? That's how it was when I was in school" her response was "I don't know how long ago you were in school, but I said they don't do it like that, it's like Uber they make their availability when they want" so I'm like "So it's just up in the air, no real schedule or anything" to her reply "No, look on your portal for availability" I forgot about the portal I created when I signed my daughter up so I asked for the password.. her response "When you signed her up for class and created a portal, that one" I eventually walked out and said have a great day because like Tabitha Brown says "EVEN IF YOU CANT HAVE A GOOD ONE, DON'T YOU DARE GO MESS UP ANYBODY ELSE'S" the look she gives you as if you're the dumb parent asking unreasonable questions is beyond me... BUT she needs Customer Service training and I will not allow her to take away from the other young lady, and instructor that represents this location well...
Negative experience: Customer service is very bad.
Negative experience: Poor customer service. Specially front desk supervisor. Stay away
Negative experience: My daughter went here in fall 23 it was a terrible experience!! The instructor wasn’t a good teacher talked to my daughter about everything but driving.
Negative experience: I just called to sign up my son for Driving lessons. The lady on the line was rude and condescending. Since this is the first time trying to sign up my son, I had some questions, I guess she didn't have the patience for my questions. Need to have better customer service. This place would have been convenient for me because of proximity. I took my business somewhere else
Fantastic experience: Our driving instructor has been wonderful for our teen! He enjoys going to his lessons ❤️
Fantastic experience: Great place to go for driving school
Negative experience: Passed one of their vehicles on Rt15 going 68 in a posted 55 and driving in the left lane, when not passing anyone. No wonder the driver's in MD are horrible!!!!
Positive experience: The classes behind the wheel are understandable and the staff there are good for help needed.
Negative experience: Bad experience getting the license is important it’s not fair waiting for months and months just get hours in your practice . Licenses is a necessity that everyone needs not everything is about money.
Fantastic experience: This crew has by far the most chilliest in car instructors, the amount of patience they have is beautiful. Also my online teacher Mrs.C.C you are truly a beautiful spirit and I’m very thankful for you! Thank you all
Negative experience: appointment at 330 on oct 16th .no one there.left at 4pm with no one available....horrible experience...double checked my appointment and it says clearly 330 pm oct 16th
Fantastic experience: My daughter is taking the driver’s ed class with Ms. C.C. It’s a virtual class and I’m happy to say that for two weeks we get to hear Ms. C.C.’s cheerful voice echo through our home. She is such a kind, cheerful and positive teacher. I’m so grateful that she’s teaching my daughter!
Fantastic experience: Our daughter had an excellent experience (in-class and in-car driving lesson) with Greg’s Driving School. For schedule changes we needed for in-car driving, Greg’s customer service was responsive with great follow up and we were pleased with safety protocols (Covid) that are in place. Really appreciate Greg’s teaching our daughter to become a great driver. Would recommend Greg’s!
Fantastic experience: Convenient online course. Very instructional in car experience. Friendly and knowledgeable.
Fantastic experience: My daughter had her first In-Car lesson last week and was so nervous. Patrick at the 7th Street Location was great!! She loved having him as an instructor. She even went in after and asked if she could have Patrick for the rest of her lessons and they said he was already scheduled to take her out.
Fantastic experience: I kept putting off driving school because of my apprehensions with being an older person learning to drive. Every single staff member at Greg's made me feel welcome, and treated me and my classmates with respect. I came in thinking I already knew everything and going to GDS was just a formality, however, the staff at Greg's East were very knowledgeable and patient. I learned so much pertinent information not only about signs & signals but also how to handle emergencies and indicator lights. This class was well worth the money. Thank you to Ms. Julie, Ms. Tracie, and to the gentleman who's name I feel horrible about forgetting (he taught class despite having a sick infant at home). Thank you all for being so welcoming and making me feel comfortable and confident in my driving knowledge.
Fantastic experience: Teachers keep the information up to date and fun for learning.
Negative experience: So we get there, ready to sign up for driving school, no staff was there when we walked in, except for one guy, who rolled his eyes and shook his head at us when we walked in, clearly disatisfied that there were customers. When we did ask to sign up, he told us to leave and go do it online, apperantly their open on the weekends with no staff?? Wont be going back there again.
Fantastic experience: Rusty (Jonathan) was my teacher. He made learning about roadways fun and easy. He is passionate about his job. He was encouraging and motivating. Mrs. Betty was my lesson instructor. She made me feel confident and gave me room to make mistakes and learn from them. This school is wonderful. They will help you any way they can. If you read awful reviews it is because those people didn't follow instruction. They will help you become a safer and more coordinated driver. I will forever encourage people to come here.
Negative experience: This is for the one on hillcrest! That Colombian woman who i think is the boss in that place or whatever she is! Well she is the worst teacher, very rude, didn't teach me anything while driving, she was angry and was in her phone for the 2 freaking hours of driving practice she was in facebook! Wth! I didn't learn anything with her.
Positive experience: Great program.
Negative experience: The teacher really needs to understand that immature behavior shouldn't be tolerated. If you have students that aren't mature enough to sit and pay attention for two weeks, no way in hell should they be allowed a driver's license.
Fantastic experience: Great!
Fantastic experience: Great! Practicals and theory!
