Fantastic experience: I Just finished my MSF course with Teri and Al and it was amazing. They really work closely with you and take the time to explain what is needed for the course and more importantly what you need to work on. I would highly and I mean highly recommend this course and the Silver State motorcycle academy to anyone looking to get there Nevada motorcycle endorsement or just learn more about the safety and requirements of riding in our awesome state. They are truly the best instructors in the Greater Reno area Thank you Al and Teri You guys are the best

Fantastic experience: Today I finished this class, absolutely incredible. I have nothing but the highest praise for Teri and Al's professionalism, knowledge, expertise, and comedic premise. These guys are a solid 10/10 and have an astounding gift for teaching. I came into this course expecting to be given a brief example of our path of travel followed by an example and then a "give it your best, don't fall over" because it's, well.....Silversprings. However what we ended up with is best described as a class that is expertly tailored to each student as an individual despite there being eight students, and two instructors. They were able to identify even the slightest thing you were doing incorrectly, or an area where you need direct improvement, and massage it into better habits. Coming out of this class as one who is now far more prepared for on-road motorcycling, I genuinely feel blessed to have been taught by two dedicated and marvelous instructors. Thank you. I have every intention of retaking their class in a few years assuming they're still instructing.

Fantastic experience: I just took the class and let me just say it's pretty straight forward, one of the best classes you would ever have. We have had a little humor but also serious talk aswell. Definitely worth the money but also some basic skills. Hope to see you guys soon and thank you for having me.

Fantastic experience: This thank you is long overdue. Thank you Al and Teri First let me say, take this class. It's worth every penny, especially if you value your life. Do not take those words lightly. Wear full gear! Myself and a friend attended the academy offered by SSMA back in March 2014. I still to this day recall and utilize many of the things they teach, and more so reinforce. I constantly have referred and recommended to people I've come in contact with to take this course with Al and Teri (this is who taught it back when I took it). The biggest thing I gained from taking this course was putting my own ego into check, and getting help to develop skills to break bad habits I had developed over riding for years. I am by no means a perfect rider, and at times my ego creeps in (we all have one), however I can certainly say with great confidence their course gave me numerous tools that have kept me alive, and kept me riding to this day. Prior to the course I had no MSF training and rode for years with a super inflated ego. Taking their course helped put that in check, it helped wake me up. They really opened my eyes, and my mind to new things and were able to show me problems with my riding skill that I had assumed was really good prior to the course. After the course, and many years later I am still riding, and I am a much different rider than I was in 2014, and a literally not the same person prior to taking their course in 2014. I've been through my share of mishaps, and even through those I was able to take away lessons to be learned, and this again came from the MSF opening my mind. I now ride and own several Aprilia's, I've traveled all over the states on the back of a motorcycle, I can ride on street, track, and off road and continue to develop, and break bad habits as I grow. Sadly I have also watched, and lost numerous friends and acquaintances. Many of which refused to take an MSF... I want to stress again, this course is worth every penny of your life. If you want to ride, and if you already ride, just take it. Leave your Ego at the door, never take it with you on a bike. Wear full gear! This course should be mandatory. Thank you Al and Teri

Fantastic experience: My Husband & I completed our motorcycle academy yesterday & passed! We wanted to thanks SMA for their professionalism and safety. We had such a good time with Jim & Dave. They were great, and we can’t say enough good things about them! Their teaching style was on point and encouraging, even when some skills felt challenging. They were kind and had a professional sense of humor. Most of all, they shared their lived experience to discuss safety, and this theme was woven throughout the course. I’ve attended a lot of training over the years with a long career in law enforcement, and this was one of the most comprehensive courses I’ve taken. My Husband had been riding most of his life & still found the course valuable as he was able to sharpen his skills & learn new things. The course was challenging and yet they set us up for success! Fantastic experience: Everyone at Silver State is fantastic! I had no clue what I was doing the first time I got onto the bike, but they walk you through everything to make sure you are comfortable. The classes are smaller so you do get 1 on 1 time with the instructors if they see something you can improve on and they encourage questions. Since you have the smaller class, you get to go through the exercises multiple times to really get a good feel for what you are doing. Thank you Silver State Motorcycle Academy!

Fantastic experience: This place is the best. The instructors did such a great job going over all the exercises. They were very patient and the advice they gave when correcting mistakes was superb. You can tell they want you to succeed by how much effort they put in. Id never even been on a motorcycle before this class and now I wish I'd done it sooner! Fantastic experience: You will be hard pressed to find a more experienced and dynamic motorcycle educator duo. Al and Teri are great! Their class is professionally delivered, with just enough humor to keep you engaged, and the perfect amount of caution to be real about the inherent hazards of this exciting mode of transportation. Their facility and equipment is excellently maintained. You will have a great time and be well prepared to start riding safely.

Fantastic experience: Teri and Al are the best! Not only are they both absolute professionals when it comes to bikes, but they know how to translate their decades of experience into helping riders of literally any skill level. I had never been on a motorcycle before this class and both Teri and Al walked me through everything step-by-step, encouraged me to develop good habits and safe driving skills, and boosted my confidence. They seriously will do everything they can to make the course fun and to ensure that you have the skills and mentality needed to enjoy riding and stay safe doing it. I can not recommend this program enough if you want to ride!

Fantastic experience: I took this class August 1 and 2. Teri and Al are absolutely amazing. Teri does the majority of the class coordination and she is so kind to talk to. She works with you and your schedule to get you into a class. Al's teaching style is very real and the examples they both give are great in relating to real world scenarios as you work around the track on the asphalt. They really want you to succeed and work hard to make you do so by understanding the instructions, the bike and the cone layouts. They're very thorough and know the curriculum well. They're great at complying with the current COVID standards too. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend their class. If you're in Reno like I am, it's SO WORTH the drive to Silver Springs. My only complaint was the too hot weather but Teri and Al made sure there was plenty of water bottles and breaks in the shade to allow us to cool off. They even provided a hose off their RV/toy hauler to wet down our own bandannas to keep around our necks.

Fantastic experience: Teri and Al have the most beautiful personalities I have ever seen, they really know their stuff, they are good teachers, they make their course fun but most importantly they really do care about their students. They will teach you so much but they will never be judgmental, I am so glad I got to be a part of one their MSF courses I am glad i got to meet them.

Fantastic experience: It's way more fun than you would think it was. Teri and Al are super enthusiastic and like to joke around a lot which makes everything way less stressful than it could be. The first day is really learning the basics and the ergonomics of whichever bike you choose to ride for the two days, and then it really gets interesting the second day. This class emphasizes low speed maneuvering which is much harder than controlling the bike at a higher speed. I'm glad I took the class because there were many things I didn't realize were so important when riding a motorcycle. At the end if you pass the test, you will get your motorcycle endorsement for your license. It was definitely one of the most fun things I have done in my short life so far.

Fantastic experience: Teri & Al at Silver State Motorcycle Academy (SMA) are absolutely fantastic instructors & business owners. I had taken an MSF course previously with another institution in the past, and this was honestly a night & day difference. Where the prior class had little instruction and was hardly any fun (felt like detention), this class felt like educational recess! Safety, fun & learning are their priorities, which resulted in the best possible learning & performance I could've possibly experienced. I've taken now the MSF Basic Rider Course with Teri, and the elective Dirt course with Al, and both have their unique strengths in teaching. They definitely know their stuff, and by the time you're done with their class, you will too. Book your class ASAP, as they fill up quickly (and for good reason). It's worth every dollar, mile & minute of your time!! I could not possibly recommend Teri & Al any higher! SMA earns a A+ / 5-Star FOR THE WIN!!!

Fantastic experience: Have you ever hear your friends talk about an awesome MSF course that was fun, they learned a ton, and passing the test was a breeze because of how thorough the instruction was? Well this is that place! The instructors are super chill and it was as close to one on one training as you can get. Every time you got a maneuver right they would be just as excited as you where! I went in with years of teaching myself how to ride and all the bad habits that come with learning the hard way. They immediately seen where i was struggling and corrected it. Motorcycles are these peoples lives and i really got the impression that they just wanted to share that with me.

Fantastic experience: I took the basic course they offered and was absolutely pleased with my experience. Not only were they proficient in there teaching but did they also have a great time teaching. You could tell the instructors Tery and Al both love what they do.
