We make mistakes, as hard as we try not to, we do!
We encourage all our students to communicate with the office staff when scheduling in-car behind the wheel drive time. When scheduling instructor time with student time, mistakes sometimes happen.
Calling the office to inform the staff of the mistake is very much appreciated.
Once we become aware of the mistake the staff works diligently to correct the error and to review procedures so the mistake does not happen again.
Unfortunately, the office staff checked all past and current student while attempting to correct what may have gone wrong but there is no student with the last name beginning in Y, or a student with the initials of C Y, so we cannot correct our mistake.
It is our hope that if this review is from a past student that they received their Class D Massachusetts License. If it is from a current student, please contact the office 978-345-6200 so our staff can correct the issue.

Thank you for taking the time from your very busy schedule to leave a review.
Unfortunately, not every student passes the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles Road Test Class D Examination, there are various reasons for an individual failing. The most common are students that fail to complete 40 hours of supervised driving in addition to the 12 hours behind the wheel with a driving instructor or those that consider driving a right and not a privilege to earn, failing to practice skills and driving technique prior to the road test examination.
The individuals that conduct the Class D Road Tests are employees from the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles, they undergo very specific instructional and examination training.
As explained in the 30-hour classroom portion of driver education, serious safety violations or the inability of an individual to safely operate a motor vehicle during a Class D Road Test will result in an automatic failure, I’m sure you remember this information from Day 5 of the classroom session.
Just as during the classroom session I advise all students that the Registry of Motor Vehicles does not tolerate any type of abusive behavior towards employees. You might also remember that I inform all students that should such behavior be displayed as the road test sponsor I will verbally inform the student to cease such action. I understand that the verbal intervention might cause some animosity, however all of our instructors pride themselves on the professional relationship we have attained with all RMV Staff and believe that the professionalism we display creates a more beneficial atmosphere for future testing.
Undoubtedly, you may recall the procedure we utilize if as a sponsor we believe the RMV Staff was incorrect in their determination of a student’s ability to safely operate a motor vehicle upon a public roadway where they might be required to drive defensively to prevent injury to a pedestrian or bicyclist.
I am absolutely shocked at your accusation that the examiner displayed prejudice or bias of any type. This accusation is abhorrent!
Based upon my observation of the events that unfolded this past week, the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles Examiner used sound judgement in making a determination of your ability to safety operate a motor vehicle upon a public way with other road users such as but not limited to pedestrians and bicyclists.
Based upon your accusatory statement that the African American Male Examiner displayed prejudice and bias, I will be forwarding a complete incident report to the Director of Road Test Examiners as your statement is baseless and false.

Hi thank you for the review. Safely operating a motor vehicles is an important responsibility. All lessons are scheduled with the adult wanting to learn to drive and the office staff. All adult students are given a time and date of the lesson upon scheduling, it is often suggested that the adult student set a reminder in their phone or some type of calendar, so they will be prepared for the in-car behind the wheel lesson. When an adult learner misses a lesson we understand that life sometimes presents last minutes challenges, however when an adult misses a second or third lesson without any cause, simply because they forgot we do not refund the money for services that the in-car instructor was ready to provide. Our instructors wait no more than fifteen minutes for adult learners, as the lesson is only sixty minutes in duration. Unfortunately, our instructors do not knock on doors especially in multi-family homes, the instructors expect the adult student to be prepared for in-car lessons. Driving a motor vehicle safely is a serious responsibility which begins with being prepared for in-car lessons when scheduled. In 2021 the State of Massachusetts experienced 408 fatal car crashes, as of March 23, 2022, 77 people have died in fatal car crashes in Massachusetts. Safely operating a motor vehicle is a responsibility that requires maturity, which begins upon scheduling professional in-car behind the wheel lessons. Thank you for the review, however checking our computer system you never came through our program. Student schedules such as sports, after school activities and work often delay a person completing the required in-car lessons. Please contact the office with the name of the student as yours is not in our student database and we will absolutely help with in-car time. Thanks.

Unfortunately, you must have missed the sign in the office window, it indicated our office staff was on vacation. Please call our main telephone number at 978-345-6200, for any assistance you need. If our phone does go to voicemail please leave a message. If the office staff is on the telephone with the RMV which sometimes can be a very long time, they do not hang up as they will lose their place and be required to start over, so please leave a voicemail and the staff will always return calls between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM daily.

Drive time (behind the wheel lessons) priority is given to our students that complete the entire Driver Education Program. Individuals who request private driving lessons are usually completed at a time when the JOL Program Drivers are unavailable, most commonly during school hours Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The JOL Program Drivers also have weekend priority to help with their busy academic, sports, and work schedules.
