Austin Driving School: Reviews
Fantastic experience: My experience was very good. The instructor was professional and friendly. I was well attended to. I recommend them greatly for others who want to get their driver's permit or license.
Fantastic experience: Ms. Shauna was extremely helpful and made this experience very smooth. More than anything… She was patient and kind.
Negative experience: Horrible customer service!!!! Went in today to sign my son up for his driving course. As soon as I walk in the gentleman at the receptionist desk said what can u help you with an attitude. I told him I’m here to sign my son up for the driving course. He said come back tomorrow I have something to do and walk away. I will not be signing my son up here. Very Rude and unprofessional.
Negative experience: Very poor lack of communication with the girl that works there I went there to ask questions about there driveing courses and got multiple different answers. The whole experience is very frustrating and waste of time going back and forth and the girl that works there is very lack on her skills and communication , needs improvement and better staff because that is ridiculous
Fantastic experience: Had lessons with Tom ! He was great, he helped me a lot and was very patient with me! I recommend
Negative experience: Look at all the bad reviews and seriously consider going somewhere else, I came for a simple driving test, and it was a waste of time, one weekend the instructor didn't show up, and I waited for more than an hour. next they moved my appointment 21 days from when I paid, I'm waiting for my refund, and went to another place, and same day passed my test. Thanks for nothing Austin driving school.
Positive experience: I don't recall Richard being unprofessional. However, he's done this for years and perhaps may just best considered, "old school." The school was very basic when I attended. I had no negative experience.
Negative experience: Elizabeth at the “Austin” location has horrible customer service. I called and asked politely how her day was and she ignored me and went straight to how can I help you with a disgusting attitude. So I proceeded to ask about DL information and she cut me off to attend another customer which I could also hear over the phone how rude she was to him. Lastly I couldn’t finish asking all of my questions with out her very impudently responding and cutting me off or talking over me. This place was highly recommend to me not only by family members but attorneys I work closely with. Very disappointing, please retrain phone etiquette and customer service.
Negative experience: Professional scammers
Fantastic experience: I wish some of these other reviews would make a note as to where they were located because our experience in Waco, Texas was phenomenal! I wish I could give it more than 5 stars!! Working with DPS to schedule a road test and then getting an examiner that was not helpful or able to communicate effectively was a huge letdown for my son. I called Austin Driving School and was able to get scheduled just for the road test...the SAME DAY!! Not only were they helpful and kind...the instructor went over the expectations prior to the road test and then encouraged my son during the drive. My son is a really good driver but was anxious after the experience with DPS. I have told everyone I know that if I had known about the option of taking the road test at Austin Driving School prior to the DPS experience..we would have done it months earlier!!
Negative experience: UPDATE +1 star. They finally processed my refund, which is more than a month since I first requested it. I scheduled a test drive with them only to see the test got pushed back. Having waited for too long, I decided to cancel the test and request a refund, and only to hear they tell me to wait for "the right person". It has been a month, I called them once every week and got the same, unhelpful answer. Now I don't even know if I can get my money back.
Negative experience: Their customer service is terrible
Negative experience: 0 star. Not recommend. This place won’t last in business.
Fantastic experience: I remember taking driving school here I loved it! The instructor is very honest and everyone need to know the truth.
Fantastic experience: Great instructor
Thank you Antoinette, we are glad to hear you had a great experience.
Negative experience: do not come here if you want to learn how to drive come here if you already know everything or if you're willing to be berated by insensitive comments. and certainly do not bring your children to this location you just come here if you want the license. Not a place to learn. Had to wait to post my review until after I left to avoid black ball
Negative experience: I would not recommend attending this driving school at all. The instructor made some remarks that were very inappropriate. Many people have experienced the same problem so it's not just a one time occasion. It is honestly a waste of money so I would suggest to attend another driving school were you won't experience the same problem.
Negative experience: The instructor is very much unpleasant shown by his negative attitude, unprofessionalism, and disrespect towards his students. You should not waste your money by attending this school and spend it elsewhere with a respectable instructor that has their best intentions for their students.
Fantastic experience: I had a great experience at Austin Driving School! The driving instructors are very informational and ready to help and answer any questions. The staff is also great at communicating with us about scheduling. I would definitely recommend Austin Driving School to anyone looking for a place to take driving lessons! : )
Thank you Lydia for your 5 star review
Fantastic experience: Instructor kept it fun, would recommend to anyone.
Negative experience: If there has been a zero star I would have chosen it! They took my son’s money but never returned our calls or scheduled any drivers training.
Negative experience: Llamo para hacer Cita y me dejan en línea. Cuelgo y marco nuevamente y cortan mi llamada
Positive experience: Not very professional they never taught me how to drive in the freeway nor did they take me.
Negative experience: Worst driving school ever!!! The instructor is SO VERY RUDE and yells at the students. And the staff is careless and does not know anything about customer service. Take the advise from a frustrated parent with this so called driving school. DO NOT ENROLL YOUR KIDS HERE...PLEASE FIND SOME REAL PROFESSIONAL PEOPLE.
Negative experience: They don't answer there phones
Negative experience: We didn't have a good experience. Kept rescheduling drive times.. and inorder to get anything done had to call location call main office.. My daughter took the driving class the beginning of 2017 and still so Driver's license.. cuz we can't get the driving school to give her driving certificate so she can get there license
Fantastic experience: I moved from Austin to Mc Kinney due to my dad's medical condition, and because of this, I had to get my paperwork transfered from the Austin Driving School on Slaughter Lane to this one in Garland. I moved in June and it took nearly 4 months for the school on Slaughter Lane to transfer my papers here! Furthermore, they also lost my timecard, which meant I had to redo the three instructional hours that I originally had done. However I did not mind this problem, because my new instructor, Richard, has taught me a lot about the roads and driving skills that I had never learned from my other two instructors in Austin. He gives me very insightful tips and I actually enjoyed driving under his guidance! Although the lost of my timecard was unfortunate, I was able to further improve my driving and learn more from my instructor in this location. Highly recommend!
Negative experience: First of all, I would give zero stars it were an option! First I enrolled my oldest son, then my daughter shortly after. My son finished his class work first and started his driving part. It took a while to finish due to constant rescheduling by the school. My son decided he needed extra lessons, and Richard said he would help him out if he paid him "cash under the table" .My son agreed, and paid him the extra 200.00. He constantly pulled a no show or cancelled minutes before the lessons. It took several weeks and a phone call from me, when he stopped even answering the phone to my son, to get him to finally finish these extra lessons. Meanwhile, my daughter finished class work and started the driving lessons. The same thing starts with her. Constant cancellations! She constantly scheduled them according to their schedule, and guidelines. Still more cancelations. It literally took from March 18, 2017 to Nov. 15, 2017 to get them to finish her lessons, that technically she was not allowed to finish..And this is the part that made me the saddest of all. My daughter had been trying to schedule her final 2 lessons, and they were cancelled by an employee. The school called my daughter after she finally got a schedule date, and told her to make sure she brings a " no show fee". My daughter tries to tell them that the employee called and cancelled ,they said you have to pay, as you have no proof. Since I was present when the employee called on MY phone, I went in with her. I told Richard that I was there when his employee cancelled, and that she was not going to pay the fee. He said she will pay or she don' t drive. I told him that is fine . Since you did the same with my son, you can take it up with my attorney. At that point he told me that I was getting smart with him, and if I did not get out of the building he would call the police on me. I told him I had a right to complain as I am a customer, and he was trying to scam my daughter. Again he told me to get out now or he would call the police. I complied and stepped out, but watched my daughter through the window. He had his finger in my daughter's face, I open the door, but did not go in, but told him not to take it out on my daughter. He said I am giving her her last lesson, and you better close the door now. Keep in mind he still owed my daughter 2 driving lessons and 2 observations. She gets back from her lesson, he gives her the driving certificate and told her not to come back! This has got to be the most ridiculous, and sad situation I have ever been involved in , and over $15.00. The money obviously was not the problem for me, but the last straw, and on principal, I had to call him out. You would think, he would have agreed to talk to his employee first, before acting in such a rude mannerI Unfortunately, that is the only way he knows how to behave, as has been my experience over the last months. I have 3 more kids who need driving lessons, but you can be sure they won't be going to this scam of a business!
Fantastic experience: Class was really easy and the teacher was nice and funny. The only thing slowing the class down was the other students that were in my class.
