Cypress Driving School

Fantastic experience: Had my third lesson with Mr. Gooden. Really nice guy, taught me how to reverse park, parallel park well and really smoothly. Would recommend for anybody looking for a school with good instructors.

Negative experience: I registered my daughter to take classes and driving. Classes went well but booking the driving lessons is a nightmare. Long story they keep saying you need to email the driver - they interchange when they post availability. I called to ask the lady why they have spaces available for external people but have nothing for those who paid a long time. She went on to tell me its my fault we have not visited their website. On friday i took a screen shot of the calendar ( which said nothing is available for the next month) and the external link they sent to my daughter - which requires an additional $250 ( which we had paid before) to be paid. The lady shouted that i should check the message on the board which will tell me when there will be availability. The board said first thursday of the month - she then said no they have changed it to friday so all the drive times for them month have been filled. I told her this was disingenious since their website clearly stated first thursday - she told me to refresh my screen ( she made the change in the back end - which she clearly thought I did not know) - she changed it to third thursday - still inconsistent with what she was shouting about previously. Dont bother paying for the driving lessons because you will never get one .

Fantastic experience: My daughter only took her driving test with Cypress. We were able to schedule the same day. They were extremely professional and helpful. I would recommend them to anyone who needs a driving school.

Positive experience: The online program was good. Some of the videos are very outdated but it did get the job done. Scheduling my teenager's road test was easy and quick. The only reason I did not give Cypress Driving school is because one of the staff members, Jane or Jan, whichever her name is, should learn better customer service and customer resolution skills. When my son and I walked into the office, there were a few families ahead of us. Ms. Harris, who was super nice, asked Jane/Jan a question and she [Ms. Harris] obviously was trying to confirm what "yes" meant. Jane/Jan healed/screamed "YES!" in a very agitated manner. For me, coming from a customer facing background myself, I thought it was unprofessional. Although, that could be the dynamics of their working relationship I believe it spoke to her personality because not shortly afterwards, when it was my turn in line, I felt she was rude and made a snarky comment regarding a discussion I was having with Ms. Harris. So she is solely the reason why I did not give the school five stars.
