San Marcos Driving School

Negative experience: My child completed their lessons in 2022 and still has not received their completion certificate. I have tried emailing, texting and calling to get the completion certificate with no response. I have offered to meet him wherever he wants. Trust the bad reviews. The man who runs this place is a criminal and should be prosecuted.

Negative experience: Lost paper work. Trash people don't answer their phones.

Negative experience: San Marcos driving school is the worst ever!!! I cannot believe the names that man called myself, my daughter and my mother in law!! All because we wanted a partial refund and he doesn’t like my reviews!! He doesn’t have a valid license to be teaching children either!! Don’t know how he is still in business!!

Fantastic experience: Thankful for the driving school and helping teach our teen to drive. Like other business they are short staffed and doing the best that they can. Communication may take a little more time but patience is a virtue. Thankful for this school and helped my child not feel so nervous about driving.

Fantastic experience: Sam Marcos driving school is awesome!! My instructor mr.Daniel Perez, and even Mr.Perez Sr. were great at helping me and teaching me how to drive. Mr.Daniel was there for me when I showed up in tears and whenever I was upset at any time, or was worrying about driving anywhere. He Always tries to make everyone in the car comfortable and calm even though learning how to drive is Super scary for some students. They work very hard and they are a great establishment!!! Love this place.

Negative experience: This place is a total rip off! $400.00 for a test that can be done for just the cost at the DMV. No cars for people to practice in... Was not told this up front. Then was told I would have to provide my own car for practice? What did we pay these people for? I'm a commercial driver. I know quality training when I see it. Save your money and do this yourself. RUN from this place! * Edit LOL -The response from "The owner", is a perfect example as to why one should stay away from this driving school. An ad hominem response isn't the best professional approach. (Is that grammatically correct enough for you, "owner"?)

Fantastic experience: I’m one of the students that paid for 6 day driving and 10 out of 10 would recommend. Coach Mr.Perez is very sweet man and help me learned to drive every day and helped me step by step! Thank you Mr. Perez ~aaliyha :3

Negative experience: Is it possible to give zero stars? Booked an appointment online to take a road test for my daughter. Showed up at the scheduled time and the guy in the office had no clue why I was there (he's the driving instructor, not the test administrator). The instructor took off with some students and left us alone in the office. Nothing was secure; information was just sitting out in the open. Waited an hour and the instructor came back. Gave me the test administrator's cell number. No answer and no response to text. The fact that it's cash only should have been my first clue. Oh, and the instructor couldn't hardly walk so when everyone (him, us and the other students) were in the office, the phone rang on the other side of the room so he made one of the students answer it. Definitely not going back and based on my limited experience, I would not recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: Bring your kids here, take yourself here if you need driving lessons.. Mr. Perez is the best. I took the 7 hour driving course and went from being completely confident I would never be able to drive to confident that I can safely drive myself around to all the places I need to go. They are reasonably priced, accommodating and all around really great. 10/10 would recommend.

Fantastic experience: I recently got my driver's license and I have the instructors at this school to thank for it. They were so patient and Mr Perez was so helpful! He guided me through the requirements and made sure I took the right classes. Its truly a good place!

Negative experience: Instructor was practically mute, other instructor coughed and sneezed in car with no mask, very rude and disrespectful both in person and on the phone, still like 20 years behind with poor quality VHS.

Fantastic experience: They were great and helpful. The one who gave me the test today gave so much feedback on how I should drive safely on the road. He looked serious and mean at first, but then he was actually really nice as soon as you talk and drive with him. They really care about the students and to those who are taking the tests. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: This place was great. Took both of my kids here. I contacted 5 schools in Hays County, this was the only one to call me back and did so immediately. Accommodating and helpful every step of the way. Being able to take your test here is such a bonus. It made the actual trip to the DMV last only 20 minutes. Made my kids very comfortable behind the wheel. We were also allowed to use their facility to practice parallel parking as long as we needed. Nice people I recommend.

Negative experience: The hours listed are incorrect. The office is only open from 3:00-6:00. The man who answers the phone is very rude. This business takes advantage of the fact that they are the only driving school offered in San Marcos. Prices are ridiculous. Teach your child how to drive, or make the trip to a New Braunfels or Austin location. Stay away!
