Fantastic experience: I can't find enough words to express how thrilled I am with this driving school. From the very first call, my experience has been fantastic. They patiently explained every step, time frame, and expectation for my 16-year-old's first driving lessons. On the first day, an incredible instructor named Brian picked up my son from our house. His calm and cheerful demeanor immediately put my stressed teenager at ease. The lessons were straightforward and easy to follow, boosting my son's confidence with each session. The permit arrived in about a week, which was impressively quick. Now, my son is on the road, all thanks to the exceptional instruction and guidance from the school, especially Brian. And I must mention, the pricing is very reasonable. I highly recommend this driving school!

Positive experience: I absolutely did not like the instructor who helped me learn in October 2024. All he did was shout at me and was rude. He helped me with parallel parking and 3 point turns which i was most grateful for but I didn't appreciate how he shouted at me. I had never driven before and on the first day he was going of on me as if I had driven before. I only didn't appreciate his rudeness but aside that I have no problem with the school.

Fantastic experience: I can not express how wonderful First Time Driving School was. Marty and his staff were extremely helpful and answered any questions that I had. After the lessons my child felt very confident and comfortable on the roads. Both my husband and I learned how to drive with FTDS and when it came to choosing a school for my son it was an easy decision.

Fantastic experience: They did an excellent job getting my child to drive. On top of the 6 hours on the road, they handled the paperwork filing with the DMV and provided extra practice right before the road test. Everything was done quickly and to fit our schedule.

The owner of the school, Mr. Messano was great too. He was quick to call me back to answer any questions I had and was very helpful. I highly recommend them.

Negative experience: Extremely rude employees. Find another driving school. Edit: I didn't leave a fake review. I called you guys back in 2020 and just remembered how rude you were. I have no interest in calling your number. Your school is a joke. Edit2: Just doing what I should've done years ago!

Fantastic experience: First time driving school is absolutely well organized and reliable. They helped me a lot with my road test even though I gave them a really short notice. My instructor Tom could not be better and of course big thanks to Martin who organized everything in really tight time. Do not look somewhere else and definitely rely them on!!!

After asking friends for recommendations seems most parents referred to First Time Driving School. I came to learn why it's a family operated business and they have the best working for them, the instructors were always on time and encouraging.  which is great since you still receive that undivided attention and care required. Marty, who is the owner, went above and beyond to help my son in obtaining his permit. Marty is amazingly professional and returns calls immediately, Marty has the patience of a saint and takes time to discuss and describe every detail involved and genuinely wants to help. This level of customer service rarely exists anymore which is great since you still receive that undivided attention and care required. Considering COVID and how everything is on delay and especially when dealing with DMV Agency the turnaround time was incredible, my son couldn't be any happier. Everything they promised was delivered and some from the trust to supporting the parent and child. Highly recommend don't look anywhere else, book this place with your eyes closed and First Time Driving School will be the best choice you make. Best of luck to your teenager in this next milestone.

Fantastic experience: First Time Driving School was one of the most professional and well organized places I have ever been to. After my school cut Drivers Education, I was able to take my written test at the driving school, and they were always available to assist me. My driving lessons were wonderful, and my instructor Ozzie could not have been better. He was very helpful and calm, always making sure that I understood what I was doing prior to putting it into practice. I credit him with my ability to parallel park today. One of the most incredible services of First Time Driving School is the road test service. I was very happy that they provided a vehicle with a backup camera, and that they take you to practice prior to the road test. They explained how to use the backup camera to ensure that the car fit into the spot on the road test, and how to get through other issues people have faced like running stop signs and staying on the right side of the road. Thanks to this service, I passed my test on the first attempt. A big thank you to Martin, Ozzie, and everyone at First Time Driving School for a wonderful experience.

This man deserves all of new Jersey to take his driving service. I simply cant explain to you guys whats hes went out of his way to help me secure my license and my future. He really came threw for me, and let me just say I SWEAR TO GOD YOU WONT FIND any car service like martins. If your in need for a First time driving service his bussniess is the place to go. Best in the country hands down !!!!!! Im gonna be straight with you guys, this is the best Driving school to take your kids. The owner himself drove me out to wayne. Let that show you something about how personal these instructors get with there students. I did indeed fail my test, but martin was there all the way threw even to agrue a little on my behalf with the tester. Sat in the car with him for about 4 hours straight. Not for a minute did i feel akward or unsafe. Martins cars are all up to date in every shape and form. He always makes it a priority to get you there on time and to squeeze in extra practice, aswell as to fix or work on any last second request by the student. He spoke to me every minute of the way on how to succeed on the test. Hes a professional and a great guy. He even canceled his dinner in order to not make me feel rushed or unwanted. When hes on the clock he makes it his main priority to be professional and not let his personal life interfere with his work/students. I failed twice but i will continue to go with first time driving until i pass. Fantastic experience: Martin and his team of driving instructors have been amazing. I used them for both of my sons over a three year period and worked with at least 4 of his instructors over that time. Besides the fact that he takes all of the hassle off of the parent's back, he also has great relations with the DMV staff and that helped us on two separate occasions. Would highly recommend, and in fact, I have given the company info to many other local parents.

Fantastic experience: Amazing step by step procedures. The driving instructor spoke well and slow. No intimidating atmosphere, just as if you were driving with a friend. Responded to anything and everything even if it was off topic. I highly recommend this driving school to new drivers attempting to get their license from my own personal experience. Fantastic experience: Excellent instruction. Coming from a person who's greatest fear WAS driving, I now can say I've become comfortable on the road (including the highway). My instructor was Ozy and he was calm, informative, and was very accommodating with scheduling. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: Absolutely rediculous. I don't understand how the previous ratings are so high. Everything takes so long and is not efficient. I started the process of calling for my first lesson and it's been nearly 2 months of telling me that I am going to be called to set up my lesson "sometime this week". I've been told that I would get contacted this week way too many times. It's a pretty outdated business as well, its hard to contact the driving school and call back time is too long as well. Not to mention it takes 10 minutes to have my yes or no question answered because the man helping me is talking 1 word per minute. Example: I had to mail in all of my information to the driving school on July 1. Instead of dropping it off at the DMV right away the school decided to wait a few weeks to do so, the reason - 4th of July (That's one day!!!) Instructors seem nice though with that being the only positive. This school will put you through hell until your lessons are finally set up, then it's pretty smooth.

Negative experience: After receiving mail from this school for my son i called and was told they couldnt help me.. found that to be weird.. but found another school.. no stars for this school from us.

Fantastic experience: My daughter loved the driving school and after the six hours she got her license. But the real reason I am writing the review is the service they gave us AFTER she got her permit. Her permit was lost or stolen and they promptly gave us the necessary paper work. Now that she has her license we needed the proof that she completed the six hours for our insurance company. It took them less than 3 hours to provide us that document that will save us hundreds of dollars. If I had more kids I definitely use First Time Driving School a second time.

This instilled confidence in me that not only helped me during my road test, but also made me comfortable driving alone.
