A & K World Class Driving School

Negative experience: Horrible customer service by the older person in the front desk. Lack of professionalism. I went to change my daughter’s corrected Texas Drivers Education Certificate. So this is where the problem starts. When I first registered my daughter the employees that were there did not mentioned that my daughter name had to be exactly like her birth certificate. She has three names and two last names so I just added her first two names and one last name. I go to DMV and they tell me that I have to put it exact like the birth certificate. I go back to A&K and this lady starts giving me attitude because I didn’t put it exactly like the birth certificate then she tells me that if I want the correction she’s gonna have to charge me $40 for the correction but she’s gonna ask Mr. Aleman. I don’t know the heck Mr. Aleman is but I’m thinking he’s the owner. So he gets there and then whispers that she’s gonna charge because it was my mistake. He agrees. I agree about the extra charge even though Infeel there could be better communication on their end. There is not a lower rating score and that’s why I gave him a 1 star rating. Horrible service. Lack of professionalism. Lack of empathy. Lack of Communication. Will not recommend this business to anyone ever!!

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with the A & K Driving School. I took the 6 hour class Adult Class (entertaining and easy to follow) after we took a test it was easy to do just had to have a little bit of knowledge before hand on the road signs. Then I also took my Driving test with them after getting my permit. For a heads up definitely learn how to parallel park and also always look both ways when driving through an intersection

Fantastic experience: The school was great! Mr. Aleman did an awesome work giving me advice and making me feel comfortable during my exam. The staff were very patient with me and really made me learn how do drive.

Fantastic experience: I am very satisfied with A&K Driving School , ,my teacher and evaluator was Mr. Efrain Aleman.Throughout my experience at A&K he fully prepared me for my driving test and went over the information I needed for DPS in a very detailed manner. He made sure I stayed on track with the steps required to reach my goal of obtaining my license. Thanks to Mr. Aleman I was able to get my license without any issues and I highly recommend him as a teacher and evaluator.

Negative experience: Worst customer service I have ever experienced. I drove in from San Antonio, Tx to register my child since he/she will be in Laredo with my parents for the summer. The lady (older lady) in the front is very unprofessional, lacks customer service skills, and is very rude. Her attitude scared off my child and he does not want to attend this driving school. The only reason why we decided on this school is because I myself took classes there and I was assisted by other younger lady who is extremely professional. Mr. Aleman I think you need to hire a better office staff that loves there job and is not rude to your customers. The customer service is amazing when the younger lady is there. But when this old lady is there we the customers feel very uncomfortable asking questions because she raising her voice at you or treats you like you're stupid!

The driving instructors are A1 at their game and help you so much alongside Mr.Aleman which is an astounding instructor/owner .

Negative experience: Very bad customer literally wasted my time! Do not recommend. I went 30 minutes before they closed left work early to get info no one could help me. I asked the lady if she could help me & told me a lady that should came in didn’t & she couldn’t help me.

Negative experience: Terrible customer service. I spoke to two different ladies and was told conflicting information during both phone calls made me wait six months unnecessarily to take a test when I called back to ask questions about the process because they were not being clear at all. They were very rude and aggressive the entire phone call and when I asked for help from someone else they were unaccommodating. I attempted to call again to reach someone else or get the name of the person working the desk and it was sent to voicemail seven times. I truly believe they’re avoiding my calls did not want to deal with their own consequences of telling incorrect information for such an important government process they need to get their business together.

Very active and helpful when I had questions and im super grateful for it! Mr.Gallegos also very great and patient with my driving, even though I came in here not knowing how to drive I learned a lot from them, Im glad I chose AandK driving school .

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend A&K school. I mostly sure I got the chance to communicate with everyone in the school - Audrey, Jesse (instructor), Allen (instructor) and Maria (instructor & examiner). Audrey is really friendly and will answer all your questions, help you schedule your lessons appointments, she is awesome. I produced a bunch of questions. All the instructors will provide you greatest advices to pass your exam with the minimal points lost and drive safe, just keep listen and follow as much as possible. I don't know about the other schools but to me it was a really cool feature to have the lesson just before the exam. It helps you to decrease exam anxiety. One of the major pros - everything can be booked online. The only con I found, they don't have the same day appointment. Thank you so much for your help, advices and lessons.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this school! Make sure to prepare your documents ahead of time for a smooth experience! Mr. Casillas helped me with 2 hours of driving instruction and Mr. Aleman conducted the driver's exam afterwards. They were very, very helpful!! A&K provided me with a vehicle of theirs for everything and explained everything really well. Ms. Flores helped me navigate the DPS website for appointment scheduling and through the whole processing procedure. 5/5 Stars! Thank you so much A&K!

Negative experience: I took the drivers ed course through zoom during covid and it was a pretty good program but i didn’t really learn anything. I learned most of the stuff i know on my own. I was the only person that wasn’t from Laredo and yet no one told me that i had to drive 7 hours with the instructor. My mom spoke to some lady and she was very rude to her and said that everyone else who took the course had done the driving but they were all from Laredo so i was unfair and the communication was poor. I waited more than 6 months because I truly felt that i wasn’t ready for the driving test. Now that i’m ready they said i have to pay all over again which is barbaric. I suggest doing the course through in person and not zoom or just don’t be like me and just go as soon as possible.

Negative experience: So I am a student that took the class and test for this school…it’s poorly planned, has no verification for whether students are actually learning or cheating and regardless of that…the lady at the front desk has no manners. This was my BIGGEST ISSUE this deskperson is very rude, unprofessional, sassy, and worst of all completely horrible at the work she does. You guys should honestly hire a new deskperson. (I say desk person because I don’t know how she identifies)

Negative experience: When I attended this driving school, I had to learn through zoom. It was poorly planned, and I basically had to teach myself everything on the last day, and I still passed. There was no actual driving practice. Dont come here

Fantastic experience: My teenager felt very comfortable taking the classes and driving with the instructor. I highly recommend this driving school. She got her license soon after the classes and is now driving her car. Thank you! By the way, I find the morning young assistant at the front desk very helpful and nice.

Positive experience: They are very nice at first, but once they get your money their demeanor changes. I wanted to give this driving school a try. I had taken my other 2 teenagers with this other driving school...I won't mention any initials :)(Gregory's). At A&K the lady in the front desk had a bit of an attitude problem. Complaining about how we are not allowed in the building after certain hrs because they are closed...well, lock the door lady! Or put up a sign. Anyways, I wouldn't recommend this place. They do alot of talking and not enough demonstrations which kinda bores the teen. Also not enough videos for them to observe. When it comes to the driving part, they say it's suppose to be 2 hrs but they cut into your teens driving time. They get 1 1/2 or 1hr and 45 minutes. If you are paying for something and when it comes to your teen learning to drive the correct way, I think every minute counts. At the end of the course my teenager wasn't comfortable with driving.

Fantastic experience: Very Great driving school! I took the driving class in 2017 ,and I didn't take my driving exam till 2019, and I didn't forget anything. Except for the nervousness because its a test but that's normal.
