Fantastic experience: Awesome instructors! Huge thank you to Ms.Kathy, Jessica, Loyd, and Jamie. Y'all helped out my husband and I appreciated being included in the tour. 10/10 recommend! I also appreciate how detailed everything was explained and steps were made very clear.

Negative experience: They are committing fraud .I went in for an upgrade from a class B to a class A and they tried to charge the food bank $5,000 Didn't get that because they would not move me instructors after I asked two of the ladies .I ended up getting just a restriction removed for a manual vehicle and they still want to charge $5,000 how is this world supposed to be better with thieves. They also give the answers to the CDL questions to all their fresh students. That does not benefit anyone I promise you.They don't care about teaching you properly they care about getting you out so the next person who has some type of assistance can get in . I came in with a Class B license already . So I didn’t gradúate with a Class B I had an endorsement removed something you all charge couple of hundred for not thousands . Yes they do cheap rhey give you the exam with all the answers then test you and everyone passed this is what they do with everyone i didn’t have to cheap because i only had 1 exam to take to upgrade to a class A that was my intention but after being harassed i wanted out of their so the person responding to this review is the same person who told me not to care if they stole money .. nice

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience at Excel. The instructors were friendly and knowledgeable. They made sure we were ready to go on the road and helped us every step of the way. I would highly recommend Excel if you are looking to get your CDL.

Fantastic experience: My experience here was great! They have very good instructors with lot of experience. I will recommend this place to anyone that has zero knowledge of commercial driving and has never learned how to drive standard transmission, and these guys will train you to pass your driving test.

Negative experience: You can get your CDL, and training in 2 weeks, but do you guys show them how to drive a truck on the interstate and over the road, that's going to take more than 2 weeks,

Fantastic experience: I should’ve let a review a long time ago! I got my license 07/2023 and it was a great experience. Lloyd taught me a trick to back up the trailers and never forgot it Thomas taught me how to drop and hook trailers (not part of curriculum) and I’m glad I learned cause that’s some knowledge!

Fantastic experience: Wish I would’ve gotten My CDL through this company!!! I was in the process of transferring my CDL from another state to Texas and I needed to get the no manual transmission “N” restriction removed. After calling around to several different places that couldn’t help me and wanted me to go back through the entire CDL program all over again, I found out that an old neighbor of mine was a truck driving instructor, so I contacted him. He referred me to Excel Driver Services. When I called and spoke with Maria, she was very knowledgeable and knew exactly what I needed to do. She gave me step-by-step instructions on what to do to prepare and get everything ready. She was also quite patient and put up with me, contacting her several different times for little hiccups that I ran into. My trainer, Lloyd got me very well prepared for the test, and was very kind, professional, and most of all extremely patient!! I also got the opportunity to speak with other instructors about various topics within the truck driving industry, that convinced me, that the team this company has in place for their San Antonio branch is far superior to many of the other driving companies in the area! If you’re on the fence as to where to go to get your CDL, I definitely recommend Excel Driver Services!! This is an excellent place to truly learn!! Thank you so much Excel!!

Fantastic experience: I just completed My class A CDL Training. what a great experience Excel had to offer, less than 2 weeks hands on training w/ my instructor Janie was able to teach me all she knows gave me and my fellow student 100% and was able to complete and pass within the time frame Thank Excel

Fantastic experience: I started on Dec 18th and from the very start, Maria and Kimberly were amazing, very helpful and informative. They helped me with the enrollment process to ensure my success. These two were professional,courteous and always kept me informed and up to date. Karyn was my instructor during the driving portion of the class and was professional,courteous,and stern when need be. I also trained with Janie and James and interacted with Loy. They all are professional and respectful. The entire staff takes genuine interest in every student and works with each individually. These professionals care about their job and students as well as the company and equipment. I am greatful to each and everyone of you and thank you. I would highly recommend anyone to Excel driver services. Maria,Kimberly,Karyn,Janie,James and Loy are truly an asset to the company and should be adequately compensated for their commitment and dedication.

Fantastic experience: Great school to get your CDL. Instructors are friendly and full of knowledge and driving experience. Examiners on-site and test on-site. Very thorough on the tractor and trailer. Remember FOLLOW THE RECIPE!!!

Negative experience: I do not recommend this school. It was a failed experience and a waste of time and money. You lose $5600 for less than two weeks of training with unprofessional trainers. The treatment is rude. You do not take theoretical lessons and the trucks are worn out.

Fantastic experience: Awesome CDL program you get it in 2 weeks. All the instructors are great and have more then 10 years experience Loy G. Is a great instructor. I recommend this place all trucks are comfortable and easy to learn. You get on the road right away they show you the right amount of tough love but when it's all said and done it is worth it.

Fantastic experience: Mrs. Maria and Kimberly Are Amazing, unlike other schools they help us get our permits and work diligently to help get our appointments with DPS. The whole program is super fast paced once you get going but you'll definitely earn your CDL. Before getting to Excel I dealt with two other schools and a couple other programs. Excel made the entire process so much easier. Thank you guys for the amazing job y'all do.

Negative experience: Worst place to go to, all they want is your money but won't help you save, save your money and don't go with these people their equipment sucks they are scammers!! Don't ever do buisness with these people please run away from buisness don't do buisness with them because of their fabricated good reviews. The bad ones are the original reviews. They are very unprofessional and rude. Their focus is to take $5,600 from your eldt class

Negative experience: This school was horrible. It’s all smiles when signing up but when it’s driving time. The workers are very unfriendly. Trucks outdated. No pavement. They don’t even want you to use they indoor bathroom.I felt very uncomfortable on my second day I was left to back up in truck by myself. That’s not safe at all. And when I when our ordinal truck broke down they put us in another and I’m 5’1 I could barely see over steering wheel . I thought I was doing damn good . I did tell lady I did not want to turn into the school in truck cause I could not see and the lady act like I had too. Then she got freaked out and told me to stop. This lady reported to Maria like I was gonna flipped the truck. Not my fault y’all have old outdated trucks. The seat adjusters didn’t even work for me to boost the seat. I came to get class A they tried to suggest me get a class B. Ik what I want. I didn’t return. My other classmate they had her in tears. They made her feel bad. I begged her to go back and finish then turn around Sam thing happened to me. I had Karen and from day 2 I felt she disliked me for some reason. I wouldn’t recommend this school. My Nephew runs a school in Austin and I told him how they did me and he said that is unfair treatment and to report them. I don’t know how they in business. All workers rude except Gil especially the women instructor. They bate you in to get your money then bam they don’t care. Also this was my last option school cause school I wanted was backed up. And they tell you, you can use simulator that’s a total lie. Attn school don’t try to contact me either you should have done the job you was paid for. I felt bad cause a company helped fund me. I really believe they racist to be honest. Thank God I will be finishing my cdl at a new school in Houston. Don’t put your trust in this school. They have they fav. The website reviews are fake I believe. Also they only have clutch most places don’t even use that so why train us in that.

Negative experience: There is no need to lose a large sum of money in this school, The number of training days is few, The trucks are dilapidated, And the principal, Maria speaks to the students with a lack of respect.

Fantastic experience: All staff were great and helpful, and I couldn't ask for a better teacher. They all genuinely want the students to properly learn how to drive, they don't do just the barest minimum like a previous school I went to that I won't mention. Thank you all!

Fantastic experience: Coming from another trucking school in San Antonio, that I won't mention, (let's just say their name is also a spice), I can say with full confidence that I eventually made the right choice to prepare for my truck driving career. The instructors care and the office admin are always there, if you have any concerns. Once the driving segment starts, it is fast paced but it's all to prepare you for the real world. You'll be behind the wheel from day one but you can be reassured that you are never alone in the process. If you're looking for a school to get your CDL, this is the place. I was glad I made the switch.

Fantastic experience: Very professional, fast and efficient, Kimberley Cantu was extremely helpful, she made me and the others of my class feel comfortable, and wanted in their courses. She provided me with every piece of information I needed to succeed, I highly recommend excel as the the best driving school in San Antonio area.
