Fantastic experience: First of all, I don’t think you’re going to find a more convenient driving school on the island. Between the weekend hours and home pick-up, the convenience can’t be beat. Lessons are extremely easy to book online. There’s no need to buy a preset number-you can book whatever hour works for you in a few clicks online. They’re reasonably priced too, probably cheap all things considered. Apart from the convenience, Rob is a good teacher. He knows what he’s doing and will tell it to you straight. I would recommend Rob and this school to anyone looking to get their license or brush up on their skills.

Fantastic experience: This school is great! I passed my driving test first try, my instructor was Robert, great guy. Very straight forward and to the point. can almost guarantee a pass with him. Highly recommend to everyone!

Fantastic experience: Before I took lessons with Delight Driving, I took lessons with a different driving school that didn't help my driving skills at all. For a long time, I was a frankly unconfident and bad driver. For a while, I had also lost hope, as I had failed the road test twice. As of writing this review (8/8/25), I have taken over 10 lessons with Rob. My experience has been wonderful so far, and I am looking forward to completing the last few lessons I have booked before I attempt the road test again. Rob is an extremely patient teacher and is great at making sure that I not only properly grasp the rules of the road, but that I understand the gravity of the mistakes I make while driving as well. I've seen a lot of people say that Rob is harsh, and while he may be tough on his students, I believe it's been the best way to learn how to drive. He is extremely direct. He will tell you exactly what you did wrong and do his best to prove it to you through giving you real examples while you are on the road. My first time I went driving with Delight Driving, I explained to Rob that I had failed my road test prior with over 50 points... he told me that he wasn't going to look at the sheet and simply help me fix my mistakes, and taught me more in that first lesson than I had learned in both Driver's Ed and my prior driving school. That, to me, was the moment I knew things would be different. If you're serious about learning to drive and are willing to put the effort as well as money forth, drive with Delight Driving. All of my praise goes to Rob for being such an amazing instructor!

Fantastic experience: I passed my road test on the first try and although I was kind of a slow learner, his teaching style helped cement a lot of things into my mind that I ended up using to pass. Getting my license was quite important to me as I have a job opportunity lined up with Peterbilt in September that required me to get one. He’s very laid back and takes the time to help you realize not just how to do things but also why, people call him rude and say he makes you feel less confident but on the opposite hand, its quite effective at helping you develop discipline. After Rob had also went through a hard time with his health, he still remained active in communicating with me regarding money that was left on the table due to the school temporarily ceasing operations. I appreciate the lessons as well as Rob and Vanessa for helping me out and helping connect me to this future opportunity. Thanks!

Fantastic experience: After my son started driving, having finished a season of driver's ed, he was in an accident within a month. This had me worried. I talked with other parents, I discovered that this was a common theme among students who did driver ed, and were new to driving. I looked around for answers. I was told about programs with Delight Driving, so I signed my son up for a package with this school. I can say I'm highly delighted; my son is a much more proficient driver. He knows how to take safety seriously. I give my praises to this school. They're very serious about what they teach.

Fantastic experience: The instructor, Rob, takes his time to help you understand each and every part of driving and makes sure you understand even the seemingly minuscule details.

Negative experience: Bad teaching with an old, broken down car. Instructor drove himself half the time.

Negative experience: I'll just start by saying, run away and don't use this driving school. At first glance I saw some good reviews so I assumed I would have a good experience. WRONG! It was a nightmare. The vehicle smelled like old milk, so whatever I'll deal with it, but then my steering wheel came off! Yes, it came off and I thought I was going to die. Then when the dust settled from that, I felt like I was being drilled instead of taught. If you're teaching someone you should be calm and collected, not being yelled at and made to think you are always wrong. The pricing wasn't what I was told either. I feel like I was way over charged after finding out what other places offered. I won't be afraid to share my experience with others so they can know what "delight driving school" is all about. Nothing about my experience was a "delight."

Negative experience: I cannot express how unprofessional this place is! I am very displeased with the lack of professionalism and miscommunication. I wouldn't recommend coming here. Look at how he speaks to people who have a differ of opinion from him. Instead of being professional and speaking to people with respect, he is rude. I wouldn't want someone teaching me how to drive who can't be respectful to others.

Fantastic experience: Delight driving is so good! I was literally kind of "scared" to drive & just kept renewing my permit. Finally took classes with Malissa & she taught so well that im actually liking it. Needed someone to match my vibe of learning & that she is! patient, consistent, & willing to want me to pass on my first try of the driving test! (lets hope i do)

Fantastic experience: Delight Driving is a good driving school. Very informative and helpful with improving my driving. But there’s a WONDERFUL GEM, Melissa who is the BEST most caring and gentle instructor! She teaches with the kind of patience and encouragement you’d expect from someone teaching their own kids—and that’s exactly how she treats her students. Melissa genuinely cares about your progress and confidence, not just passing the test. Her guidance gave me the skills and reassurance I needed every step of the way. I’m so grateful to have learned from someone who not only knows how to teach, but how to truly support you. Fantastic experience: I recently took my first driving lesson with Melissa, and to say I’m impressed is an understatement. Being someone who didn’t grow up around people who drove and was never exposed to driving a vehicle, Melissa made my experience one to remember from the minute we began she was kind, patient and very clear in every explanation. I honestly never believed I would ever be able to drive but after this lesson I now believe with Melissa as my instructor I’ll finally be able to achieve my dream of having my license. I am very grateful to her and look forward to our lessons in the future!

Fantastic experience: Amazing driving school. When taking my lessons, there was no doubt in my mind that I would pass the road test. WHICH I PASSED 11/12/24. In comparison to Island Driving School, I noticed with Delight Driving, Rob was extremely attentive and constantly providing constructive criticism in my driving. When I took a lesson with Island Driving School, I received absolutely no critique or method of driving, just 30 mins of silence. When I took my first lesson with Delight Driving, the difference stood out. Thank you rob!!

Negative experience: Stay far far away from this place. The owner is rude and completely unprofessional. He demeans and treats you like trash on ur lessons that just kill ur confidence. I expressed my feelings about my frustration about how I wasn’t treated well and the owner threatened to leak my phone number so out of fear, I deleted it. Don’t even bother, I know he’s gonna respond back because he’s insecure and I don’t care. Show everyone how fragile ur ego is. This is constructive criticism. I don’t like how when I asked him simple questions, he instead of answering them, just decided to ignore me and kept replying with “go to our website.” That’s unprofessional behavior, ur job is to help ur customers in any, way, shape or form. Kamilla was amazing, she had faith in my driving. But then the only available instructor left was the owner. He was a complete prick and showed no respect to me. Then out of no where, he blocked my account and phone number after I pleaded with him if I can take lessons with another instructor but he refused. Also his techniques were just so bad that made no sense. He make you confused and counts ur movements on the wheel which is just completely unnecessary. I went to another driving school on Victory, and they were honestly so loving and kind. Taught me every technique on how to pass the exam and I did on my first try, I wasted $200 on this school and walked away with no skills or knowledge.COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!

Negative experience: Don’t book this school they so unprofessional I had a class at 3:00 they text me 2:32 saying my class is cancel due to the driver at an appointment no problem . Now I have an issue where I got stuck at work so I had to cancel do you know they try to charge me a cancellation and I called to cancel 2 hours before now I’m trying to call to contact somebody now they not answering .

Negative experience: I can only review as an onlooker. At the date of the 9/5/23 road test the individual in this vehicle proceeded to double park in the middle of the street blocking traffic for a good ten minutes and forcing her way into the lineup of cars waiting their turn for the other test takers instead of getting in line like everyone else. Now is this a horrible thing? No. But for a driving school to show this type of aggressive behavior to a student I feel is ridiculous especially the way people are driving today. Everyone may be posting five stars because they were called back, and passed their tests but in reality im concerned with the quality of teaching. What are they showing these new drivers? Oh yes, not to mention that the rear right taillight is out on the car they are using for the road test. Does make you wonder.

Fantastic experience: I am so glad I purchased the ten-lesson X-tra that includes 10 driving lessons, a 5-hour class & quick road test. In addition to that, I will also be getting the 90 minutes highway lesson. I have been taking driving lessons with Mr.Tom as my Instructor, a thorough gentleman. Mr. Tom is highly professional, experienced, polite, immaculate, and an outstanding Instructor. It was my first time behind the wheel, but he made me very comfortable and gave me the confidence I needed. I truly appreciate him, and this driving school. Hands down, Delight Driving School is the best driving school on Staten Island. I also took the 5 hours class with Mr.Rob. My review won't do enough justice, Mr.Rob is the best of the best! Highly professional, knowledgeable, and thorough. He gave us real-life examples, demonstrations, and a lot of cross-questioning during the class. He made sure all of us were on the same page. The list can go on and on. His 5 hours class was extremely informative, engaging, and interesting. He has a great sense of humor but at the same time, he maintains discipline, punctuality, and decorum in the classroom. He answers all your questions in depth. Mr. Rob always responds promptly. Fantastic experience: I’ve booked over 10 lessons with Delight and had Yuri as my instructor for most of them. Yuri was extremely patient and kept his cool each time we were in the car, he built my confidence when I needed it most and helped me get through each lesson without my anxiety taking over. He put up with my insistent questions and always encouraged my instincts - he’s also a great conversationalist. Delight was extremely accommodating when it came to booking lessons, doing my 5 hour class, and setting up a road test - thanks to Rob I had help through the whole process. Can’t say enough good things about them.

Fantastic experience: Kamila is a wonderful person. I can only count on one hand the number people that I would allow to teach me to drive, and she would take up at least 3 of the 5 fingers. She is reliable, patient and won't waste your time. If you are willing to learn, she is more than willing to teach. Even if you don't want to learn, she will still teach, but it will be more difficult for you to pass your test. So be willing to go in with an open mind, and it will be much easier to pass your test. Kamila is the best!!!
