Rusty's Driving School, Inc.: Reviews
Negative experience: This place just randomly came to mind, so I'm writing this review from my experience there back in 2015. I only had my permit at the time and was taking their class to get my license. The instructors may know the rules of the road, but these guys don't know how to run a business professionally. Front desk lady was rude. The one on one behind the wheel sessions were a bit awkward. Instructors would jokingly call me "George", my name is Tom so I have no idea where he got that from, but it was weird for sure. After my final behind the wheel session, they weren't confident in my ability to drive and were adamant that one final session would really help me prepare for the driver's license test, offering me to take it with them in one of their vehicles instead of at the DMV. For context, they use Kia Souls while I drove a Ford Expedition that I was much more accustomed to. I declined their offer and felt like they were trying to rip me off as I was fully confident in my ability to successfully pass the test. I ended up taking the driver's license test at the DMV in my own vehicle a few days later and passed flawlessly. These people will try to scam you, stay away!
Negative experience: They never pick up the phone or call back had 4 other people trying to get they license test #Try RPM great service
Negative experience: Took money then never responded. Conferred with other parents of enrolled teenagers in the neighborhood and we're not alone. After a month of ignored calls and email, finally had to resort to merchant claim for failure to deliver services.
Negative experience: Went there for 4 lessons last one being my test and during my test he was on the phone the whole time hardly paying attention and when we got back he said I wasn’t ready to get my license but wouldn’t say why just kept saying I’m not ready but when I went to take my test else where I aced it and got a perfect score of 100/100 this place is terrible and I don’t understand how they are still in business
Fantastic experience: Very nice people, had a pleasant experience
Negative experience: The lady at the front desk is extremely rude. No Patience at all. Driving instructed Mr Mackie was very nice an helpful
Negative experience: This place is a waste of money , I have spent a total of 600 dollars for my license , and still don’t have . I seen them say I was practicing for two hours but reality I was only practice for an hour . Aj the man which is calls him self made me driving to him to run his errands . The lady at the front desk is rude and doesn’t know what she is doing . Rusty is an older man who is scam people and making him rich . Please don’t go her for driving school .
Negative experience: they litteraly rob you of your money they will make you take extra classes over and over again and say you can’t drive spent over 1000 for them to tell me i can’t drive then went to the dmv took my driving test and easily got my drivers license 0/10 definitely not recommended.
Negative experience: Just don’t go here for the sake of your sanity don’t do it would give negative 1 billion stars if I could this place is ridiculous
Negative experience: went through them because my grandfather said Rusty went to church with him. It was a mistake. He was very unprofessional and very rude. The way he taught came off very condescending and the questions he asked weren't coming from the actual book. They were just opinion based. Additionally, he interrogated me about my religion and whether i was vaccinated, despite wearing the mask like he asked. The woman who works in the office can come off very rude and also unprofessional. They consistently moved dates after planning, were late, lost my information, and trying to schedule the lessons we pre paid for was hard. I was licensed by then through AJ who was very kind, helpful, and professional. Overall unless it was just AJ teaching me I wouldn't do it again.
Negative experience: The lady at the front desk is so rude, she called me a. Dingdong and is always yelling. They are so rude and do not spend your money on this, and prefer to go to a different driving School. These people are the worst and have no respect for others. Sometimes they don't even know what they're talking about. And they don't even know how to do their job. They are both probably the worst people I've ever met.
Negative experience: office admin are rude, unprofessional, unorganized and has poor communication skills. We paid for the class, attended the 8 hour classroom and we never heard from them again. The day of the 8 hour classroom session they told us that we needed to reschedule and take my son to the eye doctor.. Did that and came back... front desk insisted that I had 6 months of my child on a permit that there should be no rush... once class was completed, they said they would call to schedule my son's driving lessons. NEVER HAPPENED. They do not follow up and they act clueless.THEY ARE NOT CLUELESS THEY ARE ROBBING PEOPLE OF THEIR MONEY. Do not give this driving school your money. They can't even shape a future for our children by running a business in this manor.
Negative experience: The receptionist is rude. The instructor is unorganized, and if you actually succeed in scheduling a driving class with the obnoxious woman that answers the phone, the instructor makes up reasons to cancel said class... "Your child needs glasses before we can continue the next class" so now you're either annoyd enough to be out $500 .. Or you fork out another $200 to get an unnecessary eye exam ... Horrible experience!!! If i could give zero stars i would...
Negative experience: Very disgusting and RUDE to my little sister & that Rusty guy need to learn how to talk to people with his uptight self
Fantastic experience: I don't understand why this is rated a 2.7 right now, but rusty's driving school has been amazing! We had a completely opposite experience of the negative review. At the 8 hour session, my son was told to call in a couple weeks to get his classes scheduled, which was his responsibility. Scheduling was easy and convenient. There were many openings and times that we could choose from. The woman whom runs the office at the location we went is straight forward and friendly but doesn't bs...which is something I feel you need when dealing with people at times! Rusty's taught my son about safe and defensive driving and I feel comfortable with what he has learned and knowing that he is going to be a safe driver, or at least was taught properly how to do so. It helped me clean up some of my bad habits that I have developed over the years as I watched my son develop skills from learning from Rusty's school. Definitely worth the money and time to make sure your teen, or someone who needs refresher lessons, knows how to do it safely. One thing I did like was that I feel like my son might have been a little bit cocky thinking he was going to be getting his license at his last lesson, but the instructor did not feel comfortable licensing him and gave us the option of practicing more or scheduling a couple more classes with him and coming back to get his license. I opted for 2 more classes with the instructor as I felt that was the best thing for us.
Negative experience: We had a terrible experience with them. The owner and office admin are rude, obnoxious, unprofessional, unorganized and has poor communication. We paid for the class, attended the 8 hour classroom and we never heard from them again. The day of the 8 hour classroom session they told us they would call to schedule my son's driving lessons. They do not follow up and they seem clueless. Do not give this driving school your money.
Negative experience: Very rude office worker. Not enough information when signing up for the course.
Negative experience: First off the lady that picked up didn't know nothing and the man she cut me off to talk to was rude he told me give him 155 for a day class and i might get my permit I clearly started I needed my license and i was trying to explain it again he started to over talk me and was rude NEVER AGAIN
Negative experience: They’re very rude and obnoxious. Don’t go.
Fantastic experience: Staff was very nice explained everything very clean.i recommend them for first time drivers and any who need help getting their license back.GREAT JOB A.J.
Fantastic experience: Very professional business and staff who are also concerned with making sure each student learns the rules of the road and safe driving. I'm 28 years old and I just completed an adult driving course taught by Mr. Rusty Hires which brought me up to date with today's driving laws and also sharpened my driving skills. I thoroughly enjoyed his class. I feel so much better on the road now than I did before. He is a great instructor with many years of experience teaching young people, seniors, autistic, and even deaf. I highly recommend this school to young and old alike.
Negative experience: People can be rude.
Negative experience: Do not .. I repeat ..... do not use this school. Office admin is extremely rude, and the owner is very very unorganized. Clueless operation and waste of my money
Fantastic experience: My daughter just completed the course. Rusty and his staff are very friendly and professional. My daughter is certainly a better driver because of the class.
Fantastic experience: Great local people and teachers with heart. I highly recommend over the chain places. Agree?
Fantastic experience: My son took his driving lessons here. He is now on the road and doing a great job. I was worried for him when he first started but Thanks to Rusty’s training he is doing well. I will now be sending my two daughters soon. Thanks again
Fantastic experience: Rusty was very nice and did a great job teaching Dafighter. Thank You
Fantastic experience: My son completed driver training in November of 2016. We felt he had excellent classroom and vehicle instruction. Over a year later we learned my son could get academic credit for his class because his school does not offer driver training. We contacted Rusty for a duplicate certificate with a grade and Rusty handled this promptly and with follow-up after I initially contacted and to make sure the certificate arrived. Great instruction, great customer service. Great value! What more could you want?
Negative experience: I've talked to the office clerk twice and she doesn't seem pleasant at all. My teenager hasn't started the program yet but I hope the clerk isn't a reflection of the school.
