Check Ride Driver Training Services

Negative experience: We almost got into an accident today at approximately 3:15 on Cathcart / SR 9! The trailer number was 4441-XZ. Whoever is driving that truck has no business driving it and needs to learn the rules of the road. The lane was merging and the driver almost crashed into us. My husband who is a police officer was driving and had to slam onto the breaks causing my children to fly forward. I understand whoever was driving is probably learning but maybe don't put them on such a busy road until they know a little bit more.

Fantastic experience: Just passed my class, excellent instructors dylan was super helpful and Lisa and don take the time to help you learn and understand. Glad I took the class at check ride.

Fantastic experience: This company and the quality people that make it run is why I hold my CDL A! Lyssa is the director of operations and always so helpful generous with her experience and time. Dylan is quite an instructor, really knows how to teach! He is also quite entertaining. His hands on approach got me through the confusion of backing skills. Quality instruction! Well run school!

Fantastic experience: I recommend Check Ride 100%, they have an excellent staff, starting with the instructor in classroom Dylan (Pre-Tip knowledge, backing maneuvers) and driving instructors Nicco, Slate, Lissa. Great people and plenty of opportunities to learn from them, if you're willing to put the time that's needed it to be successful. All the staff at Check Ride will teach you to Pass the Pre-trip Inspection, all the backing maneuvers tests and driving test. But it is your responsibility and you are accountable to learn and pass the CDL Test. I passed the CDL test in the first attempt. 3/22/23. Thank you Dylan and the rest of the staff at Check Ride.

Fantastic experience: recommend them 100% they have an excellent staff starting with Dylan the instructor, Nicco, Slate, Lissa are wonderful people who are going to teach you I recommend this school to anyone who wants to get their CDL I have not passed yet because the pre trip is difficult for me but one day I will achieve it with the favor of God.

Fantastic experience: Coming from the healthcare industry as CNA for 25 yrs, and a Phlebotomist/ Lab technician for 5yrs still not even making $23 hr, I needed to do something different to make more money, so I researched the trucking industry and what schools were best. I decided to go with Checkride Driving School. Their reviews are outstanding. I have NEVER been in a truck before nor ever drove one! The instructors gave me what I needed to succeed; one-on-one time in the trucks, gentle patients while I practiced driving and backing. Gave me materials that I needed to study, tips and advice on HOW to study, and a never ending positive supportive attitude from everyone! Also, I got some great advice from Lissa on how to look up a company's "SAFER" report to help navigate me to a great company to apply for my first driving job. I am so grateful to this driving school. I feel confident entering my new career as a truck driver, thanks to this school! They give you what you need, and YOU need to put in the effort! Passed my pre-trip 1st time!!! Thanks to Dylan's great study tips. Excellent School!!

Fantastic experience: The first thing you need to understand is this, you are paying to learn to pass the State's driving exam. 90° of that falls on your shoulders to learn the pre-trip. If you put the time in and learn it, you'll have plenty of time in the yard to gain the experience which you will need backing the trucks up. You're an adult, so take the responsibility and hold yourself accountable. The staff is great, knowledgeable and provides insight on what you need to know. I hadn't driven a manuel transmission in 30 years, let alone double clutching and I passed my CDL test today on the first attempt. Great people and plenty of opportunities to learn from them, if you're willing to put the time that's needed to be successful.

Negative experience: I do not recommend this place. they are racist. The boss of the place told me that if she didn't speak English well she shouldn't be driving a truck. she didn't even tell me her name. she is a woman with a bad attitude .. like trusting a place where she . They are supposed to help me.

Fantastic experience: I recently graduated, and passed my CDL skills test. I had a great time at the school, learned a lot. The instructors, and the staff are great. You get what you put into the school, come to learn, put in work and you'll have a great time. I can't say enough great things about the instructors and staff, wonderful people that made it a great experience.

Fantastic experience: I did not know anything about driving the truck at all before I attended this school and only in a short period of times, they turned me into legit truck driver. Thank you so much for Lissa, Jack, Aaron,and Tammy for all the hope and support. This is a very good school. I highly recommend!!

Negative experience: I don't recommend going here if your goal is a Class B license. You're very much treated like a second-class citizen, the teachers will drop you off at the bus and say have fun for you to practice your checklist alone while they go help the students with the class A practice. In order for you to do your backup training or any of that you have to wait until the field is clear of the Class A students. And you will be required to sit through stuff that's not relevant for your class B with the class A students. If you should have any trouble with your CDL test you just end up getting told that they can't have you taken the test forever and they say goodbye have fun not worth the money in the slightest. I was able to instead go get training from my eventual employer King County Metro directly and was able to get my CDL on the first try with flying colors. I have noticed that whoever manages their Google account likes to try to flag any negative review as fake so just to prove I've been there here is the training book

Fantastic experience: Tammie really set the bar for customer service, letting me know exactly what I needed to do, where I needed to go, and when it all needed to be done by, in order to be able to attend the school. This exactness is a rare thing these days, and it really made the paperwork side go smoothly. Plus she's fun to talk to! The instructors were great to work with as well! All of the instructors are very knowledgeable, covering an array of experiences within the trucking industry. There is a lot to learn in the 160hr course and they don't sugarcoat this one bit, I can respect the honesty there. If you're putting in the effort they're more than willing to be your guide, and to give you the knowledge needed to pass the DOL test in 1 shot (which I did). It was also great that the school supported having recruiters come in during class time so students have a choice in opportunities within the industry. Being able to learn what's available and asking the recruiters directly was an invaluable experience, on top of the already invaluable education. I'm sure there are cheaper schools, but the value here was worth every dollar I paid into the course. Thank you for the experience, and I look forward to starting my new career!

Fantastic experience: I came from the aerospace industry in the midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic to start a new career in commercial driving. After investigating multiple schools in my area I chose to enroll with Check Ride because they were professional, thorough and helped with job location in the areas I needed to fit my lifestyle. As long as you put the time in, be proactive in your learning and take the training seriously, this is the school for you. I would highly recommend this place of learning over all others in the PNW. Thanks Check Ride for helping me with this new career path! You ALL are great!

Negative experience: If you want to get good training hands down Taylor Trucking up in north is better! Point one train on what your going to drive on the job! Point two Taylor Trucking is cheaper by over $1000. Point three if you'er having challenges on any part of the 3 phases of the test, Taylor Trucking will get you in a truck and driving! Woodinville Check Ride will say "You can show up but won't be guarantee drive time! I was out of work and didn't have money or time to waste at Woodinville Check Ride any more! I am a local kid from Woodinville and a USMC Vet! I always try to stay local but this outfit just isn't worth the local stamp of approval! Taylor Trucking School has weekend and week day options! Its over 1000 cheaper! Tons of instructors (Alot of Vets), tons of trucks, Also off site practice dock. For those shy drivers with testing issues!! But hey if you want to spend more money! Limited instructors (the few they have are good!) Limited drive time then go for Check Ride!

Fantastic experience: I just completed Check Ride's Class B CDL course in order to operate our new septic truck and the process was seamless. The level of service and support I received was exceptional. Tammy in the front office was extremely helpful and provided a ton of resources to help me navigate the various items I needed in order to enroll and complete the course. The instructors Bob and Jack were very thorough, professional, patient and provided a ton support and guidance. The course added so much value and I will certainly recommend Jeff (Owner) and his team to anyone seeking to get their CDL

Fantastic experience: I had never driven a “Big Rig” before going to this school. I researched what school was best for me and found them. They weren’t the closest school to me. I can’t say enough GREAT things about this school. It starts with the front office. I had no idea other than “I want to drive trucks.” The front office took time to talk with me and find the right course for me (class A). The instructors are very experienced with actually driving trucks and take the individual time to train each student and lord knows I needed it. The thing I really liked about this school was how much time I was given to actually drive and practice in the “yard”. I passed my State Test on my 1st try and that was a direct reflection of the training I was given at Check Ride. If you study what they say to study and don’t goof around you’ll be fine. I also came to this school without a job. Within week 3 I had job interviews lined up (thanks to the front office) with good paying jobs focused on my needs I had talked with them about. They never pushed me in one direction or to one specific job. They helped me understand what jobs I was looking at and I appreciate that. I started working the day after I got my CDL. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS School!!! They actually care about You as a person and a student. Mike a proud former student

Fantastic experience: I just completed the course at this school, and what a great experience!! The instructors are knowledgeable, professional, and really committed to helping each student succeed in obtaining their C.D.L. As a lady trying to obtain a C.D.L for class A, I was a bit anxious how it would pan out. Not once did I feel patronized, or pacified. The school from top to bottom was never less than professional, and helpful . They really go WAY above and beyond to help EACH student succeed! I cant say enough good about my experience, and encouragement if you are looking to obtain any class of C.D.L, this school is the TOP of Class!!

The instructors were very knowledgeable and professional and taught me everything I needed to know to pass the CDL class A tests. Fantastic experience: As a former student for CDL class A, this school was amazing with great instructors, office personnel and a caring owner. They were always on hand ready to help, train and be supportive to be successful in reaching my goals. Number one priority was safety not only for me as a student, but also for the public out on the road. The classroom was fun, but know your going to get out what you put in, so don't be lazy and not do your classroom work, practice driving and homework. I cannot express how important it is to study and restudy your pre-trip inspection. I would highly recommend attending the school to help you for your career future.

Fantastic experience: My employer sent me to this school and upon completion of the class, myself and my classmates that tested in the automatic volvo passed with flying colors. Plenty of time behind the wheel is provided in this course, whether it's in the yard of the school, or on the road with an instructor. I worked with multiple instructors and in trucks pulling varying lengths of trailers. The instructors are knowledgeable and hardworking, with a wealth of information to give. The school schedules the test for you and provides the truck for you to test in, which is a load of pressure off of your shoulders. I am glad I took this course, and was able to obtain my class A CDL.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Checkride for CDL training. Jeff, the owner, has several decades of teaching students and is a great instructor both on the road and in the yard. The other instructors (Bob C, James, and Aaron) are top notch in their training techniques and will have you comfortable in cab rolling down the road in no time. Big shout out to Tammie in the front office who keeps everything running smoothly. And last but certainly not least, Handsome the Wonder Cat, the true boss of it all.

Fantastic experience: Excellent course with knowledgeable instructors! If you want to earn your CDL this is the place! Every member of my class passed including one fella that struggled. They got him where he needed to be.

Fantastic experience: Today I completed my road test with the DOL and the examiner was very pleased with my high scores on the three phases on my road test. These high scores are directly related to the training I received at this outstanding school. It is simple, do exactly as they instruct, do not try and rewrite the book. The students that had trouble where the ones who didn't want to listen and learn. This school was worth every dollar I spent and is run by a group of really good people.
