Atlas Driving School: Reviews
Negative experience: If I could give zero stars I would one is only because it’s the lowest number. But Audrey specifically is an annoying instructor was on the phone as I was being so called taught and has a ego/attitude out of this world and doesn’t believe driving anxiety is a thing (how do you not believe that ) as a driving instructor? And says driving is easy and regardless of your opinion on that it doesn’t apply to us newer drivers so why bring that up ? Anyhow took the class last month or so but was reminded to give this review please go somewhere else pretty sure anywhere is better than this circus.
Negative experience: These people are never in office and ne er return calls. Been trying to contact them all summer for my son. Bad business!
Negative experience: Had driving lessons here a little over a year ago and still remember it well. The instructor became increasingly more short and frustrated with me every lesson. She gave me no solid advice on how to improve on the things I kept messing up, only ever repeating the same instructions. She'd also be on the phone for long periods of our drives. Never drove the test route before paying an extra 50 bucks for it, and she somehow got surprised and angry that I messed up. TLDR: bad instructor, waste of money.
Negative experience: Do not use this driving school. Unprofessional an no regard for getting your class an driving hours completed in timely manner. My son completed classroom hours then couldn’t get behind the wheel driving scheduled until month later. Has way better experience with 864 drivers Ed in Lyman SC
Negative experience: ur not the best school u seriouslly can do better
Negative experience: These people are horrible they don’t answer the phone and the take months to schedule appointments do not recommend going here at all.
Negative experience: Communication is limited. However, After booking and paying for drop off and pick up services for my son, on the last day they picked him from home and drove. They then gave him his 3rd party driving exam(extra fee) and left him stranded outside the office. Never told his parents they don’t drop off after exam even though they already charged for service..They picked him up from HOME and left him outside ALONE….
Negative experience: i wanted to make an appointment but they never answer the phone, and i called multiple times and they sent me to voicemail
Negative experience: I felt so horrible that my parents invested a lot of money to this place. I had no prior driving experience which was mentioned many times and I expressed that I am new to this and I don’t have a “drivers instinct” and every instructor I’ve ever had was very rude, aggressive, impatient, disengaged, I was literally brought to tears and apparently I’m not the only one that experienced this. The instructor/ owner has said that she “hates when people cry on her” ??? Which clearly means she’s the issue and maybe should work on some things. I also noticed that she was very rude to me when my parents were not around. But whenever they were there she was so nice and almost a different person.
Negative experience: Warning: Do not get fingerprinting done here unless you want to spend an hour watching the staff set up the fingerprinting equipment after you arrive at the appointed time.
Negative experience: Didnt actually use them . Dont think i will after the reviews . On top of the lady was suppose to send the paperwork via email so i could register and she never sent it . So im exploring other driving schools for my daughter.
Negative experience: Had no prior experience in driving and my instructor was passive aggressive. She acted as if I irritated her with things I didn’t know. (Which is the purpose of me taking the class hello)Very nice, nasty. Hire people with some type of patience. 300 dollars and I still don’t know what I’m doing. Waste of money. New drivers go elsewhere not worth it AT ALL. It was a hassle even getting an appointment scheduled because they don’t answer the phone.
Negative experience: The lady instructor that I had was very rude and didn’t pay attention to me while I was driving. She seemed very irritated with me and seemed to not have any patience and I had no prior driving experience. I paid for three sessions and only completed two sessions and decided to not got to third and I let them keep the rest.
Negative experience: Had fingerprinting scheduled for 2pm for me and my buddy. Go across town to pick him up and arrive at the Atlas Training school only to be told that the camera broke that morning. Ok, things happen but you couldn’t notify us by text or email that we need to reschedule? Instead we are told to make a new appointment which are a month out. Get to the police station today to do the fingerprints and the officer says she always hears about issues with the fingerprinting at atlas and said she believes they just don’t want to do it
Negative experience: I went here for both my driver lessons and my test for getting my license and had a terrible experience when it came to getting my license. The instructor was unprofessional and said things such as “your doing to much.” She had an attitude towards me and would shake her head and make sly remarks under her breath. It made nervous to drive and uncomfortable and I’m completely unsatisfied with my experience here. I paid online around June 25th and had to call them more than 3 times for 4 days to get a call back so I can schedule my appointment. Definitely don’t recommend this place. Your better off in the dmv and I’ve heard of people having better experiences at the dmv then I did here.
Fantastic experience: Great instructor! Helped me learn a lot and taught me how to drive safe!
Fantastic experience: Great staff. Very knowledgeable and patient. Highly recommend.
Negative experience: Never answer the dang phone!!
Fantastic experience: Friendly instructor, safe and clean environment, very knowledgeable
Fantastic experience: They are amazing and encouraging and kind. They are the best as well as professional
Fantastic experience: Very nice place
Positive experience: The lady instructor is a wonderful and knowledgeable instructor. Very frank and showed me what I was doing wrong! Both my kids are being trained by this school. Whosoever passes their road test is a 5 star Driver. I had so many things (bad habits) gained over 50 years of bad driving! So I fid not even dare take yhe test. Great place for both New and Old rusty drivers! I highly recommend this SCHOOL!
Fantastic experience: Very pleasant, price is fair with no hidden fees, they explain everything in great detail and had no problem answering questions i strongly recommend them and after my experiance i will be sending my 3 teenage kids thru their driving school program as well
Fantastic experience: Amazing, best place to learn driving
Fantastic experience: Great driving school with professional and hard working staff. They are the choice for teaching my children to drive. Thanks Atlas...
Negative experience: I had heard some good things about this place but my very disappointed upon my interactions with them. The first call I had in regards to fees and making an appointment was fine and I felt the customer service was sufficient. But later I had recieved an invoice for a higher price than what I had initially been told. I had meant to call back, but they got back to me first and when I had asked about the price difference I was told it shouldn't matter because if I wanted to learn to drive the price shouldn't matter at all. I felt like that was insulting due to the fact that unfortunately, money is an issue, not everyone is well off and I felt their classes would be beneficial due to discounted insurance (which again, would save me money in the long run). Overall they did not seem to care to apologize for a miscommunication error and instead tried to make me out to be the bad guy. If the situation was handled differently and had just apologized for a honest mistake I probably would have tried to get the money needed for the classes. But seeings how they just tried to make me out to be the bad guy for being frustrated over being told the wrong price, I don't feel theyd really help me out in the long run. Coming from a customer service background, I'm appalled that this is how they treat potential clients. I hope they work on that so their next students won't have to deal with being told they're in the wrong for a communication error.
Fantastic experience: My all family members got driving lessons from here. Very professional ❤️❤️❤️
Fantastic experience: Rick is absolute fire
Thank you, Tony!
Fantastic experience: Drivers Ed class was taught well. My son easily understood information presented. He came out talking about safety and other topics. Highly recommend this school.

Thank you for your review and recommendation, Mike!
Fantastic experience: Atlas Driving School was wonderful! I called them late in the week when they returned my call they were very nice, helpful, and professional. They also got my daughter in the very next class on a Saturday. She drove on the following Tuesday and Wednesday plus too her test with them. She said they taught her a lot and made her more aware and a better driver. Everything about them was awesome! I would recommend Atlas to anybody! Thank you Atlas! From The Chadwick family
Fantastic experience: Both of my boys went to Atlas apposed to doing drivers ed at school. Having the one-on-one time with the instructors helped them tremendously.
Negative experience: very unprofessinal
Fantastic experience: In response to Heart Sole's review. The staff at Atlas focus is to satisfy our customers. In the event of an unforeseen problem, we do the best we can to resolve problems in a timely and reasonable manner. Ms. Heart Sole, after her adult daughter's unsuccessful attempt to pass the road test, wanted all of her money refunded. We felt this to be unreasonable since we had given her daughter (3) two hour behind-the-wheel training lessons as contracted. We also gave her the use of our vehicle for testing at the DMV, at no additional charge. Heart Soles daughter had very little behind the wheel training other than the 6 hours we had given her. We can not guarantee a student a license because we can not control their performance while testing. An unsuccessful road test attempt is definitely disappointing. Therefore, we apologized to Heart Sole because we were unable to test her daughter as she had wanted. However, we would have given her the same test that the DMV had administered. We offered to refund the amount that we would have charged if we had administered the road test. Unfortunately, Heart Sole refused our offer.
Negative experience: Very unprofessional, we scheduled three classes and paid for my daughter to take the road test with an Atlas instructor. Day one went fine, day two the owner/instructor Audry was a no show. Repeated calls to the school and her cell phone went unanswered for more than 24 hours. On the third day she shows up at scheduled time and says that due to a domestic incident with her husband she was unable to make the class the previous day and apologized. However, she also had not submitted the proper paperwork to the DMV that would have allowed my daughter to take the driving test with her school, which is what we paid for and agreed upon. We were charged $250 for her services and she offered us a refund of only $35. Would not recommend.
