Fantastic experience: Although I was not pleased to find myself in the position to seek and find the right approved provider for a Driver Improvement Course among so many that seemed "questionable" at best, the decision to choose WISE was the wisest decision I could have made. The course materials are presented in a clear, concise professional manner. The flow of information was well-planned, logical, and thoughtfully delivered in 12 narrated sections that were of ideal duration and pace. Especially helpful were the review questions at the end of each section so that I could assess my progress and also get a sense for how my comprehension would be evaluated. An experience I frankly dreaded turned out to be a refreshingly pleasant, valuable and solid investment of my time. At any cost (and the fee was significantly lower that I expected) the WISE course is a tremendous value. Negative experience: I wished I had read before..what a complete disaster...4 hours of math and speed....and the guys voice...I'm pretty sure I know more than this guy....It's a scam with FLDOT ...Do Not..this man will talk only to hear himself... repeat..but hey..he has to cover 4 hours.. I have wasted my time, I'm getting my money back..and the points I am willing to accept..this is a crime..being double convicted.. I accepted when I paid the fine... This is beyond crazy......this guy will probably tell you about sun, soil and air.... He getting paid for sure...
Mr. Menard, I want to assure you that our company and the course you took to have points removed from the speeding ticket you received are not a scam. Our curriculum is approved by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV), and the day you completed your course, our company notified the Florida DHSMV of your course completion, and the next day the Citrus County Clerk of Court received and filed your certificate of completion, adjudication was withheld on you citation, and no points were assessed to your driving record. We hope you will not ask to have the points added back to your driving record as electing the traffic school option, when you paid your citation, and then successfully completing your Basic Driver Improvement Course ensures that your insurance company cannot increase your rates because of this citation and, very important, if you already have a Florida SAFE DRIVER rating, it will be maintained.
While we know almost no one looks forward to taking a driver improvement course, we try hard to make this a positive experience for our students by providing well written courses and good customer service. We have received positive feedback from many of our students, and some have said while they were upset to have received a traffic citation, in retrospect, they were thankful because our course has made them safer, more aware, and more careful drivers; they are practicing safe following, and are not speeding because they realize that speeding saves little time (increasing speed from 50 to 60 mph only saves one minute on a 5 mile trip), and often the driver who speeds past you is back near you again as you wait together at the next traffic light.
In your review, you indicate that our course spent too much time talking about “math and speed” and you objected to the voice of the person narrating the course. We address speeding in the 2nd section of our 12-section course. At the end of the 2nd section, you had completed 21 minutes of our four-hour course. We fully appreciate that people are different and that we cannot please everyone. If you had simply called us, we would have quickly refunded your fee and you could have selected another course provider. Thankfully, only a handful of our 250,000+ students have ever asked for a refund. Also, we are thankful that the about 100,000 people who have listened to our video course, and our 10,000 in-person students, have not objected to the voice of the person who narrated and presented both courses.
In closing, while we regret that you believe taking our course constituted a crime, you also indicated that the person issuing your citation committed a crime as well. Our company is a supporter of and thankful for our law enforcement agencies and officers. We noted that due to the kind discretion of the officer who issued your citation, your actual speed was downgraded saving you $125 on your fine. Finally, while I fully expect you may know more than our company on many subjects, on the matter of driving safety, your just passing exam score does not support your claim.

Negative experience: If I could do no stars I would, the site says unlimited exam attempts which is a LIE because after you sit there for 4 hours of your day you only get 2 tries before they reset everything and you have to sit there another 4 hours to get back to the exam!!! Then they ask you a million math equations like how long does it take you to Brake if your going 45mph, WHAT! And they don’t show you a chart or anything to look at the ratio’s it crazy! They expect you to remember all of the information that you just read or watched! 0 out of 10 DO NOT RECOMMEND!
We are confused by what happened when you were taking your 40-question exam. To pass the exam, a student must correctly answer at least 32 of the 40 questions posed, scoring 80% or greater. On your first exam attempt, you submitted your exam after answering only two questions; both were answered correctly. On your second exam attempt, you submitted your exam after answering just 17 questions; you answered all but two questions correctly, scoring 88% at that point in the exam. Based on your excellent performance on the first 17 questions, had you simply answered the remaining 23 questions and not prematurely submitted your exam, you would have easily passed, just as you did when you previously took our course in 2019.
The two questions that you missed were straightforward and had nothing to do with math:
(1) Vehicle occupants who do not wear safety belts account for a disproportionate number of occupant fatalities. (TRUE or FALSE)
The correct answer was TRUE since, as you might expect, those who do not wear seat belts are more likely to be killed in a crash than those wearing seat belts.
(2) The distance it takes to stop a vehicle is based on which of the following:
a. Speed
b. Perception and reaction distances
c. Braking distance
d. All of the above
The correct answer was d. Our course does include charts and tables to help illustrate the well-known fact that higher speeds require longer stopping distances, and many of our students appreciate this level of detail. But, as you can see from this question that you missed, our exam questions are not meant to be tricky, do not require any math skills, and are often based on common knowledge about driving.
Once again, both of these questions were straightforward and neither required you to perform any math. We reviewed the 23 remaining questions that you did not answer. Not a single one involved any math.
We do offer unlimited exam attempts, and unlike some other schools, we do not charge additional fees for those additional exams. If, for some reason, you were unable to access an additional exam, we would have gladly reset the exam for you if you had simply called us.
We have worked hard to make our course a positive experience for our students, and through the years, we have spoken with many of our students who were very complimentary and believed that our course helped them become safer drivers. We regret that you did not have a similar experience.

Positive experience: I think the price and text/content was decent, however at times my practice Q set didn't match the section I was on. I also didn't find it convenient that it initially states the order/number of sections but that isn't able to be accessed while testing. So for example, I knew I was on section 8 but not out of how many sections. At times it'd say the timer was resetting soon and then it didn't reset.
Fantastic experience: This school was clear, to the point and cost effective. We got the certificate within minutes and it was filed in the Brevard office by 10 AM the next morning (which was great as we waited until the last day!!). Hopefully I won't need them again but if I do, I will surely use Wise!

Fantastic experience: I did a course on this side to get a discount on my traffic ticket. I can't compare the experience with the course with other sites. However, it was easy to use the website and the best thing is than when I finished the course I got a call from someone from WiseTrafficSchool, I am sorry I don't remember his name. This person explain to me the next steps. A couple of days later I call back since I was not able to find the information on the county to pay the ticket and the same person helped me again. He walked me thru the website and was very nice and professional. I definitely recommend their services.

Fantastic experience: My biggest concern with these traffic schools is that we're sharing a lot of confidential information. I called in advance of signing up, (was able to actually get through and speak with someone) and the gentleman on the phone was courteous and assured me that they do not share any of the information with third parties. He also informed me that the data they needed was birthdate, DL number, citation number....and of course, credit card and address info. That turned out to be 100% accurate. Personally, I think they need to advertise the data security aspect of their service more, if they do protect customer data. I could not find anything on their website. Other schools did have references to the personal data disclosures, and I did not like that they shared info, pretty much as their discretion. Cost was really secondary for me, but at $25, it's just as reasonable as anyone else. (I took the reading version) So the 5 stars is for that commitment on data security that they provided, albeit verbally, and the ease of the system. I found that the time allotted per section was just about the perfect amount of time to read the section and complete the questions. I did have extra time in some sections, but the law is to take a 4 hour course. Final exam followed the course material very very well. Now it's my assumption that content and quality of the systems are probably fairly similar among these schools. I selected Wise as they seem to specialize in just three courses and they are Florida specific, in addition to the data security. The completion cert was super simple, and just as they described in the advertising. Someone complained on a review that they kept sending him mailings after the completion of the course. Yeah, I'd downgrade my review if I start getting mailings and can't shut them off, but I get the feeling that won't be the case. Time will tell. In summary, positive experience.

As we discussed on the phone before you signed up for our course, we do not share the data provided by our students. We do ask for name, date of birth, driver license number, citation number, and the county where the citation was issued as the Florida DHSMV requires that this information be provided on the Course Completion Certificate we issue when a driver completes our Basic Driver Improvement (BDI) Course. Without this information, submitted correctly, the Florida DHSMV will not issue a Certificate ID number for the course that has been completed. I believe the person you mentioned was concerned that she received a post card from us after she had already completed her BDI Course with another company. Unfortunately, when we send our post cards, we do not have the ability to know if a person has already completed a BDI Course with another company.
Negative experience: Take their Basic Driver Improvement Course if you want to be forced into HOURS to complete it!! OMG - it will NOT let you scroll ahead. Find another company!!!
We are sorry there was an apparent misunderstanding about the length of the Florida Basic Driver Improvement (BDI) Course. In order to be an approved provider of the 4-Hour BDI Course in the State of Florida, the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles requires that the course include timers that will not permit moving to the next section of the course until the time designated for that section has elapsed. In other words, if a section is set up to last 30 minutes and a student is a quick reader and completes reading it in less that 30 minutes, the course timer precludes moving to the next section until the student has spent at least 30 minutes in that section. About 200,000 students have taken our courses and exams. In a group that is this large, there are some very fast readers and others that are not. It is a blessing to be a fast reader.
All BDI Courses in the State of Florida must met the timing requirements described above, including using timers to ensure students spend at least four hours completing the course.
We highlight on the post card we send to prospective students and on our website that the BDI Course is a 4-hour course. Also, on the course procedures page that students review before starting the course, we provide a chart that shows the time designated for each section of the course and we include the following statement:
Section Timer
Each of the 12 sections of this course will be controlled by a timer that will keep track of the time you have spent in each section. You will not be allowed to progress to the next section of the course until the timer indicates that you have spent the required number of minutes in the section and you have answered the required Section Review Questions.
I believe you called our office after you completed your course and we attempted to explain these requirements. Once you started the course and realized the section timing requirements, if you had decided not to continue, we would have gladly refunded you fee. Sid Wise, Co-owner

In the State of Florida, if a driver receives a traffic citation, the driver has 30 days to pay the ticket/citation and to notify the Clerk of Court in the county were the citation was issued that the driver is electing to attend traffic school. Once the ticket is paid and the election is made, most counties give the student 60 more days to complete a Basic Driver Improvement (BDI) Course. After a driver receives a citation, our company, and numerous other companies, send post cards or letters informing the driver of the option to elect traffic school and to advertise our BDI Courses. Apparently, in your case, you paid your ticket immediately and then quickly completed your BDI Course. We regret that our post card arrived shortly after your course completion. Unfortunately, we do not have a way to know if a student has already completed his/her course because if we knew a student had already completed the BDI Course, we would not sent a card. For most drivers who have received a traffic citation, our post card arrives before they have paid the citation and many appreciate the information we provide about the option to attend traffic school to keep points from being added to their driving record and about keeping their insurance rates from being raised in cases where the ticket did not result in a crash where the driver was at fault.
Fantastic experience: There are a lot of choices when it comes to choosing a good school for passing both the TLSAE course and the knowledge exam, and I made the best choice by choosing the Wise Traffic School. Initially, I was concerned that the low price offered by the Wise Traffic School would be increased by sneaky hidden fees that some companies charge. In fact, just the opposite is true of this exceptional company. I had a lot of questions, and when I called this fine business, Sid (who is the owner) took the call and addressed all of my concerns, which is remarkable as I called him on a Sunday. Not only did my son pass the TLSAE course very easily, but he passed the knowledge exam the first time. It could not have been easier.

Fantastic experience: I definitely would refer wise traffic school to anyone who needs to take the course! After taking the course I am very happy to say I did well thanks to the course being very easy to comprehend. I was recently diagnosed with TBI due to a severe car accident but the way the course is designed with the questions and answers at the end of each section it made it easy for me to review and retain the correct answers. I also want to add that customer service couldn't be better, they practically answered on the first ring each time I called and immediately knew who was calling . Negative experience: DO NOT pay these people without reading the website!!! They send a nice little card in the mail with false information! I made the mistake of believing what the card said and simply signed in with our reading the web page, that was my mistake. Their mistake was sending an advertisement claiming no license or insurance points. Nowhere on this card does it say the are any acceptions!!! I now know there are. Wouldn't have wasted my money for sure! Very rude woman on the phone as well.
We regret that you did not understand that your insurance rates could be raised if you were at fault in a traffic crash, even if you completed a Basic Driver Improvement Course. However, we believe our website is very clear regarding this issue. Also, many students who are at fault in crashes choose to take our course because they want to have their traffic points eliminated and adjudication withheld on their tickets. No points were added to your driving record.
Also, our customer service representatives work hard to provide polite, helpful, and courteous assistance to our students, and in the past 14 years we have received very positive feedback from many satisfied customers.
In the state of Florida, if a driver that receives a traffic ticket elects and completes a Basic Driver Improvement (BDI) Course:
(1) traffic points will not be added to his/her driving record, and
(2) his/her auto insurance rates cannot be raised unless he/she is at fault in a crash.
At Wise Traffic School, we make every effort to ensure that our students understand the traffic school process. As such, the information above is posted in four separate locations on our website:
1) In the Frequently Asked Questions tab on our home page, the first question is:
“What is a Basic Driver Improvement Course (BDIC)?
In the state of Florida, if you receive a traffic citation you may chose, or elect, to attend a Basic Driver Improvement Course to keep traffic citation points from being added to your driving record. Also, completing a Basic Driver Improvement Course will prevent your auto insurance company from raising your insurance rates based on a traffic citation unless you were involved in a crash.”
2) At the top of our Basic Driver Improvement Course main webpage, we state the following:
“As a WISE graduate:
* Traffic ticket points will not be added to your license
* Your insurance rates cannot be raised unless you are at fault in a crash”
3) During the registration process, we asked, “Why are you taking this course?” and you selected the following statement which clearly describes the benefits of attending traffic school: “I received a Traffic Ticket, and I have elected to attend a Basic Driver Improvement (BDI) Course so that points will not be added to my driving record and my insurance rates will not be raised unless I was
at fault in a crash”
4) And finally, in the second paragraph of Section 1 of our BDI Course, we state, "Once you have completed this course, the traffic points for your traffic citation will be eliminated, and adjudication will be withheld on your ticket. Also, your insurance company will not be able to increase your auto insurance rates unless you were involved in a traffic crash where you were at fault."
