Drivans Traffic Safety School: Reviews
Negative experience: I'd give 0☆ if i could.. this guy is so unorganized & at times can be very rude. In my opinion he should have not been able to teach at his age. And now i find out he has be shut down & out of business, we were given no notice or refunded our money..
Positive experience: BEFORE YOU GO THERE READ THIS. It was a little upsetting to look on the internet only because it says that this business is open and it's actually closed down. You guys need to write that this business is closed forever on this website, so people don't think you're still open and come there hoping to take classes retake the driver's test through you guys like I was trying to do.
Negative experience: He forgot to add my son to the roster so we were helped up getting the waiver for his permit, he left a no school sign up for a week which caused some students to miss too many days and have to make them up in the next session and then when I took my son in to take his written test for his license, the man did not put him in as having completed the class. The whole experience was a headache start to finish. He doesn’t answer his phone, respond to messages on his fb and there is no way to leave a voicemail. My advice is spend the extra money on one of the other courses. The money you save here isn’t worth the headache you are signing up for.
Negative experience: Terrible. Been trying to schedule my test for a YEAR and still hasn't. Unprofessional, went off route to his HOUSE during drives, and gives no proof of progress in class.
Negative experience: I paid for everything up to getting my actual license, after I finished drivers Ed he refused to get back to me or my family about finishing, it’s been over a year and i have to repay another place in order to finish it. He is a thief, if other options are available don’t go here! You will waste your money and time
Fantastic experience: Affordable, friendly, accurate, knowledgeable, understandable, and Ivan is the best instructor that gives us 2 extra chances to do both knowledge and skill tests with no cost at all. He's kind and he will go extra miles to help others. He has good morals and attitude toward everyone regardless where you come from.
Fantastic experience: Very nice and knowledgeable. I would reccomend Drivans to anyone.
Negative experience: I would not recommend this place to anyone! He is extremely disorganized, unprofessional, and completely backward. When I have a drive scheduled for 10 and I get there 20 minutes early, we leave at 10:30! I had to reschedule my 6th (last) drive 3 times! The first time he scheduled me for the wrong time (during school hours which I made sure not to do). The second time he had me DRIVE TO HIS HOUSE to check on his wife, I sat in the car for 30 minutes while he went inside to talk to her and we didn't complete the drive. The third time we arrived 20 minutes early and were there for over an hour and didn't even go on the drive because he could not find my information and was trying to figure out how to get relicensed to do the driving test. Turns out that months later he still isn't able to do the test! Talking to him gives me a headache and puts me in a state of disbelief about how horribly this place is run. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else!
Negative experience: This guy has no idea what he is doing. He's extremely rude, unprofessional, and is a thief. He has stolen money from people time and time again without ever getting back to them. He will verbally abuse your children if you enroll them here--that is, if he even responds to you so you can schedule anything. His vehicles are unreliable and he wrongfully docks students' scores for faults that his own vehicles have. If you have an ounce of love for your children you will not enroll them in his classes.
Negative experience: Signed our daughter up and she took the classes last September and we paid to have the knowledge and driving test done through Ivan, now it is her 16th birthday and we have been trying to get a test scheduled for a month now but he is having a problem getting recertified to even give tests.
Negative experience: I can’t seem to find the classrooms schedules, are they up yet? And where can I find them? Also do you have any classes open in the summer time past June? I tried contacting you a couple of times and no One has gotten back to me
Negative experience: If there was a way to leave no stars I definitely would. Ivan has put our children in wrong classes multiple times. I have been trying for months now to get ahold of him to get our daughter to do her drives as all the class work was done over a year ago. I feel real sorry for the youth that go through here and have to deal with no return calls. I have told Ivan several times to his face that he does not know how to run a business. Maybe it's time that somebody else takes over and he retires.
Positive experience: I’m one of your students and I’ve been trying to get ahold of you for 7 months now and I need to finish my drives and I need you to get ahold of me ivan please
Fantastic experience: Way more reasonably priced than cowlitz, I’d recommend this place for the driving and written test over any of the others.
Fantastic experience: and he helps unfortunate people like me, free of charge for the tests: knowledge, skill tests and driving lessons. He'll try his best to have time for you. He's affordable, accurate, understanding most of all helpful, kind, nice and friendly. He has very good customer service, communication, and driving skills. He's the most professional gentleman in this business overall.
Negative experience: Please contact me as soon as possible. My son has been trying to get in touch with you to have you fill out an insurance form that shows he did indeed attend your driving school in 2015. You have said you would as soon as you open back up (via email) but he needs one box, just one, marked on a form to give to his insurance company. I have sent you a message on Facebook and my son has sent you several emails. Your voicemail does not work at your business so I'm not sure how to get in touch with you
Negative experience: When I took my driving test with him, the car's breaks didn't work properly. Before we were even out of the parking lot, I said "Ivan, the car isn't breaking right, there's something wrong." In response, he told me he would check after my driving test. I failed that test due to inability to stop fully. A few months later, his car broke down with students in the car. Might I also add that for all 6 required drives I did with this man, and for my driver's test, every single warning light in his car was on. Every single one. Additionally, this man also routinely lost people's papers and didn't put people's info on the computer. When I went to another driving school to retake my driver's test, 6 months after I had first enrolled at Drivan's, I discovered that Ivan had never actually entered my permit information into the computer, and that I had been technically illegally driving and didn't have a valid driver's permit. He is also very difficult to contact, and forgets everything you've previously talked about. There were also several things this man failed to teach my class, such as hand signals or parallel parking.
Positive experience: Hard to contact, friends have had issues with missing paperwork.
Fantastic experience: It may be difficult to get someone on the phone, but I found that to be true about all three of the driving schools in Longview. I had tested at other schools in town and have had a negative experience across the board. But at Drivan's, everything was polite, professional, and welcoming. I cannot say enough good things about this place. I wouldn't dream of referring anyone elsewhere! Driving test is $35 for two attempts. I don't think you will get that kind of offer in the entire state of Washington. Can get anyone on the phone? Please don't let that deter you, just walk on in!
Negative experience: HE STEALS YOUR $ THEN IGNORES YOU!!! Ive been trying to reschedule my written test for over 8 months and STILL HAVENT GOT AHOLD OF HIM. Ive called multiple times a day DURING business hours and they dont answer. Ive gone to the office and its always locked and/or closed. Ive left multiple notes under the door with my name and phone number and they end up disappearing the next day. Ive still yet to get my $20 back or a reschedule.
Fantastic experience: Must walk in. Super nice and helpful. He earned his 5 stars.
Fantastic experience: My boys love his classes and he is wonderful to work with! I have recommended him to several others also. Best driving school in town!
Fantastic experience: Very nice guy, highly recommend him over the other driving instructors in town (from expierence).
Fantastic experience: Ivan *the ivian in driVIAN* was a very patient teacher and very calm deemer. The class room was very nice! Sorta had a like no distraction and hyper docked in feel, like you were gonna learn! If you want a calm place and perhaps if you or your child us nervous about driving.... you are basically going to a guy who comes off as patient and knowledgeable as a 60 Buddhist monk. Plus he is affordable! (: wish I could relearn to drive to go back. Summary! Patience, knowledgable, and affordable.
Fantastic experience: I highly give this place a F.I.V.E star! (N.O.T) because, I passed the first time. But, because, it's $65 dollars and IF I were to of failed the second time is FREE! Hes in it for you're best interest as apposed to the money. I went to the Cowlitz Driving School before hand. It wasn't all bad if I was able to pass my written. But, then again the guy giving me my final was not the same guy teaching my classes eaither. I paid him $80.00 which he said they'll be counted as sessions because, I needed "more time on the road" while he on the other hand would let his phone ring and answer calls and if they didn't hear him he would raise his voice & he would be writing things in his notepad. So, it's like how would you even know.... I FOUND THAT V.E.R.Y DISRESPECTFUL! So, I saved $15.00 on top of another $80.00 because, he never told me the second time would be free. (N.O.T that I would go back anyway I feel hes in it for the money as apposed to you're best interest. When it comes toward anyone taking there finals I will only ever send them Ivan's way!! :)
Fantastic experience: Ivan made this a great experience! Learning to drive was fun, but a good teacher made this time i spent here was amazing!
Fantastic experience: Absolutely the best and most affordable. Wants you to pass, and gives you excellent feedback to move forward. Absolutely a great experience.
Fantastic experience: This place is great for many reasons. First of all it's affordable. I took the written and drivers test there. When taking the written test you must pay for the first one but if you fail the first time the other two tries are free. When taking the drivers test you have to pay for the first one but if you don't pass the second one is free. Not only is it affordable but the instructor is great. He is friendly and very helpful. I will definitely be recommending this place!
Fantastic experience: I personally went here and he was extremely helpful and good with feedback
Fantastic experience: We have had 3 of or kids attend. They all loved this class. Instructors kept classes interesting and enjoyable. We are getting ready to send #4 though. We have received very positive feedback from other families as well.
