Fantastic experience: This is the Best driving school to learn how to drive. Mr. Young was very professional, patient, knowledgeable and encouraging. I highly recommend his school. I took a few lessons and a 2 hr lesson this past Thursday and today which is Saturday passed my road test.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Fantastic experience: Mr. Bill was really helpful throughout my practice. He did a good job with going through the standard steps and letting me find my own flow. He was very patient, trusting, and he picked me up from my SE home. I passed my test with a 97%.

Negative experience: I called to get information about the service and Mr. Bill was not pleasant and appeared to busy to allow me to write down the information that he was sharing. Then he hung up on me and then called me back. Not professional at all. This is so sad that you missed a service because of the customer service skills.

They were patient and supported his needs and to all the families surprise he is now a proud DC License driver! Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with Mr. Young's driving school, and with Mr. Cheeks who gave me most of the lessons. I knew how to drive but hadn't driven in 10+ years with my main experience being out of the US, and left hand driving. Mr. Cheeks got me comfortable parallel parking and driving on the road. Plus, the conversations with him were most excellent. It felt like catching up with an older uncle who had many life stories to share. Plus, he never hurried me when we were at time and was always patient with the many mistakes that I made. I did have scheduling issues with Mr. Young, but my schedule was flexible enough to permit all the changes. Other than this, I would highly recommend getting a lesson with the driving school, and particularly with Mr. Cheeks.

Fantastic experience: Honestly one of the best schools I’ve been to. I’ve learned so much with the 6 sessions I’ve booked, I was able to quickly get the feel of the road, was given enough room to correct myself when making a mistake and was thoroughly able to process a lot of the lessons I was learning. Mr. Young was also very encouraging the whole process while teaching me. If you’re looking for schools to take driving lessons from I strongly recommend this one.

Positive experience: I ended up paying for 10 sessions with Mr. Young, and for me my experience with him was a great one. I gave a four out of five instead of a five out of five, because on most days, my nervousness got the best of me so my experience some days may not have been good as good as others. He eventually made me feel comfortable with driving, and when I first came to him I barely felt comfortable driving the speed limit. But, his calmness and confidence in me helped a lot with my improvement. The straightforward yet calm demeanor was what I needed when learning how to drive and I would recommend the sessions to anyone.

Negative experience: I booked 6 sessions and paid up front. My experience was good in the beginning. I was terrified to drive at first but I did overcome that with my first few sessions. However, my instructor Mr. Young canceled our sessions many times, which caused an inconvenience for me. It took me almost 2 months to complete 5, 1 hour long sessions with him. My 5th session that I had I was not even behind the wheel for a whole hour only about 20 mins. I felt ripped off. Lastly, I never completed my 6th session and do not plan to. The day of my 6th session he called cancelling again letting me know that he had to get his car inspected and will give me a call to schedule something I gave him 2 weeks and did not hear anything so I reached out asking for a refund for my last session and he responded saying they do not do refunds. I would not recommend this agency. Now I have to spend more money to take additional sessions with another agency because I am still not prepared to take my road test.

Fantastic experience: I attended Young's Driving School a few weeks ago. I selected three lessons. Within my three lessons I was able to learn how to successfully parallel park which was my biggest challenge. My instructor was kind, patient, and walked me through all of the steps. I passed my driving test on my first try thanks to Young's Driving School. I recommend this company if you need driving lessons.

Negative experience: I Had Mr.Greg Wish He Would Leave And Start His Own Company He Was VERY Helpful And Patient Had Great Knowledge But, Mr.Young Was VERY A Disrespectful And Rude A Few Times Last Incident I Was Asking Could I Get A Specific Day And He Got Snappy And Told Me We Don’t Just Have Cars Around When You Need Them. I Was Shocked I Wasn’t Asking About Your Inventory Of Available Vehicles I Just Wanted To Know If Possible Could I Do My Last Lesson On That Day I Was Requesting Thats All A Yes Or No Would’ve Been Good Enough. Since It Was Just That The Last Lesson He Continued To Be Rude And Does Not Care At All About Working With You He’s About Money. I Had Another Lesson And Decided To Say Hell With It And Let Him Have The Money Instead Plus His Janky Contract Says NO Refund But I Rather Not Deal With Mr.Young And Lose Money There’s Better Companies Be Careful. Wish Mr.Greg The Best

Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Young and Mr. Gregory learning to drive and in preparation for my road test. Mr. Young was very personable and even when I spoke with him well after my lessons (spoiler alert) and receiving my license he remembered who I was and answered my questions with no hesitation. Mr. Gregory was soo nice and extremely patient while also being very knowledgeable on driving. Communication was always on point and overall I had a great experience. My experience with young’s driving school was great!Communication was great Mr.young really helped me out and made sure I got my parking down pack after failing the first time taking my road test because of the parking but due to me being so nervous and letting my nerves get the best of me‍♀️. Took my road test over yesterday and passed parking on my first attempt so What does that tell you about young’s driving school lol.‍♀️ They gave me confidence in my driving and my parking .Really grateful that I had the opportunity to learn everything I know about driving from Mr.young and Mr.Greg so I highly recommend Young’s driving school !!!!!!

Negative experience: Mr. young is very rude and has lack of communication. I paid for 5 lessons and he continuously to reschedule with late notice, and make excuses as to why he can’t take me to drive out. I let him know I would like a refund since he can’t handle all his students and personal life “ as he say “, He also decided to make smart remarks via text messages. I will be taking him to court !!!!!

Negative experience: beware do not book a driving lesson with Mr. Young. my lesson did not go well due to poor communication, he can't control is anger, he used profanity towards me throughout my lessons and also during my third lesson he yelled at me to get out his car my lesson is over and he would be taking me home. I got out the car and walked home I was extremely shocked by MR. Young professionalism. I do not recommend him to continue to run a business. We're in a pandemic I had to remind him to wipe down the steering wheel and everything you use to maneuver a car. Mr. Young shouldn't be in the customer service business.

Fantastic experience: Certain things represent a quintessential native Washingtonian; an appreciation of Go-Go Music, a love of chicken wings and mumbo sauce; and an embedded reliance upon Metro that sometimes renders said quintessential native Washingtonian unable to operate a motor vehicle well into full-fledged adulthood. Alas, Metro isn’t what it used to be (neither are chicken wings and mumbo sauce, for that matter), and after freezing through another morning commute, thanks to Metro’s insistence on running the air-conditioning in the middle of winter, I decided that I needed to learn how to “run a car.” I “sampled” three of Washington’s top-rated driving schools before I found Young’s. I was referred by my niece, who learned to drive under the tutelage of Mr. Young himself. Today, a little more than 24 hours after acquiring my Driver’s License, the only regret I have is that I didn’t discover Mr. Young and his team sooner. The first thing that really set Young’s Driving School apart from the trio of other schools I tried was the fact that all preliminary lessons begin in the safety of Anacostia Park. This greatly diminishes the potential for mowing down a cyclist or rear-ending a BMW. You would be surprised the pressure that takes off a girl. Young’s was the only driving school in the city I was able to find that does not take a novice driver and immediately toss them into the Gladiator School that is DC traffic. I was trained mostly by Mr. Greg. He has the patience of Job. A native Washingtonian, like me, he brings a wealth of knowledge about how to safely navigate our city’s streets and highways without ending up wrapped around a tree. Before placing me behind the wheel, Mr. Greg drove approximately one mile; identifying each driving maneuver he was making, as well as his reason for making that maneuver. Again, this sets Young’s Driving School apart from others where I’d received training. I wasn’t just thrown behind the wheel on a wing and a prayer. They’ll take you on runs of the test route so that you have some familiarity with it. But, as beautiful as Brentwood is, you won’t be driving that same route your entire life. Thanks to Mr. Greg, I had the opportunity to drive in Downtown DC, areas of Northeast and Southeast – even on the highway. I also received parallel parking training. I wasn’t just trained to pass the Road Test. Young’s cares about training defensive drivers. That’s a skill that extends far beyond the mere minutes you’ll be tested on proper use of turn signals and making complete stops at stop signs. I can’t say that I ever heard a harsh word from any of the three Young’s instructors who worked with me. I have struggled - a lot – with learning to stay centered in my lane. Mr. Greg picked up on that almost immediately and explained that failure to correct this could result in my hitting something one day. Mr. Young caught it too. He offered that focusing on the center of the lane, not the front of the car, is a great aid for staying centered. So, if you commit an act that would be considered a Critical Error on the Road Test, they will offer additional instruction. After all, a Critical Error on the test is often a serious injury or a one-way trip to meet Jesus in real-life. They have to tell you these things. At no time, however, was I harshly admonished, berated, or otherwise made to feel like a chewed-up piece of Doublemint stuck to the sole of a shoe. If anything, they went out of their way to be accommodating; for instance, picking me up at home, which is outside of their homebase of Northeast/Southeast. Here, you will not be made to feel like another cog in a wheel, a paycheck, or just another client of a large mill operation. At each turn, I felt as though Mr. Young and Mr. Greg (and later Mr. Agustin, who was with me on Road Test Day) were invested in making sure that I acquired my long-delayed license. I can’t recommend Young’s Driving School with enough passion. They’ve taught me a skill that will stay with me for the remainder of my life; even if I am a couple decades behind schedule .

He arrived before me , and he gave me some instructions about the road test. He is respectful and cooperative. I highly recommend Mr Bill .

Negative experience: Mr.Greg was a great instructor but Mr. young was unprofessional and a bit rude. Got a bit rude when I requested to be instructed by another one of the driver instructors in the company. Also when it was time to take my road test, He confronted me in a rude manner about not using their car rental for the test and asking for tips from an instructor from his company after I had already paid a high amount for my lessons.

Fantastic experience: I was terrifieddddd to drive when I started. I drove with Mr. Young on my first lesson and he was just like the intro. But all of my other lessons were with Mr. Greg and he is what I needed. He pushed me past my fears. Compassionately convinced me to hit the open road when I wanted to stay in the park. He was persistent but so supportive at the same time. And I definitely needed that. There was a few lapses in communication but not too bad. I would definitely recommend this driving school to everyonee! Its affordable and you learn what you need to learn. I think I paid for six lessons. I passed my road test on the first try. Mind you, I'm 27. So a very late bloomer, but I am so happy!! Bought a car a few months after I passed my test so I am eternally grateful to them. Our meeting points were always convenient...I always felt comfortable (even though I was super nervous). I am so happy. As we all know, driving changes your life. So they blessed me with the tools to help me change my life. I am eternally grateful to them for blessing me with this lifelong skill.

Fantastic experience: Mr Young was awesome as well as his associate I forgot how name but their comminication was wonderful and they worked around my schedule the they both were extremely patient and firm and gave me the confidence I needed to drive (never drove a day in my life) I was so afraid of the car with 6 lessons I was confident enough to buy my first car. His prices are fair and his intruction is just perfect for someone just learning how to drive

Negative experience: I passed my test which I'm very grateful for. But I didn't feel awesome throughout the process. Mr. Greg was a kind and invest instructor, and who I worked with mostly. That was good because Mr. Young was impolite when I struggled with some aspects of driving. Certainly the most affordable driving school, but you get what you pay for.

They work well with any driver and will make sure you are comfortable behind the wheel in any situation. Every instructor gives you all the necessary tools needed to pass your driving test on the first try, as well as the support needed to feel confident.

Fantastic experience: Very proficient driving school. Customer friendly. I was in the process of trying to become a metro transit police officer. When I was first called out for testing, they rejected me and told me to come back when I had a full drivers license.i called Young’s driving school and enrolled in their 10 day package deal ( which is $395.00 ). I had little experience driving prior to taking these courses.i found that after the 5th day of class, I was very much confident in my ability to drive.i decided to finish out my classes anyway for the added experience on the road.Young’s school suggested that I save one of my classes for the day of my road test ( which was scheduled for 9:15am ).on that day, I passed my road test and received a full license to drive.i was scheduled two days after that for another shot with metro.they did not deny me this time and I passed all the test that were given that day.i am highly appreciative of Young’s driving school services and would very much recommend them to anyone looking for a good driving school.

Fantastic experience: Mr. Young, Mr. Greg, and Mr. Augustin were the best driving instructors I could have asked for. They are all willing to work with YOUR schedule and are really understanding if you need to reschedule. I had a lot going on, juggling school and work and needed to find time to get a driver's license. Mr. Young was very accommodating which allowed me to get a couple of lessons in each week. Before YDS, I was so sure i would never drive, but these instructors gave me great instruction which has given me the confidence to drive.

Negative experience: Unorganized and money hungry. VERY unprofessional on the day of my road test. Showed up late which resulted in me loosing about 30 minutes of instruction time before my test, and when I mentioned his tardiness, I was brushed off. He told me ‘I gave you a $10 discount or your car rental, that’s enough’ I was appalled because I didn’t know $10 equaled a half hour of lessons. All of this resulted in me failing. Another time, I had lessons scheduled and we agreed for me to pay upon the instructors arrival which was a Tuesday, MR YOUNG calls me on Sunday while I’m at work, demanding I stop what I was doing to pay him at that moment. Very unprofessional!! The only gem in this school is Mr. Gregg. I wish he’d leave and work for CAS. Mr. Young is terrible. Would not recommend.
