Go Driving Academy LLC: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Real great experience there they helped me with everything I needed to know and I would definitely send my kids here
Fantastic experience: I had my 15 yr old son take the class, and he is currently doing the driving lessons. I love the people who work there, they make it fun and interesting. I definitely recommend them to teach your kids how to drive and learn the rules of the road.
Fantastic experience: Go driving is a great place with amazing instructors. It’s a shame that people like Erin dae spend false information about the driving school. Miss dae might need to take a few driving lessons.
Negative experience: I recently had a very disappointing experience with a Go Academy student driver vehicle on Wilma Rudolph Blvd. I was behind a student who repeatedly missed safe chances to turn, I’m fully aware students are learning. However, the issue was with the instructor, who should know better. After the second traffic light cycle, I honked my horn to nudge the driver, and when the turn was finally made, the instructor made an obscene hand gesture toward me. This is completely unacceptable, especially from someone responsible for teaching new drivers how to handle stressful traffic situations maturely and professionally. It could have escalated into something worse on the road. Driving instructors should be calm, respectful, and lead by example, not model road rage. I hope the academy addresses this, because this type of behavior is not ok.
Fantastic experience: From start to finish this school was amazing and helped me conquer my fear of driving! All of the staff are very friendly and made me feel comfortable behind the wheel. I would highly recommend this school for any teens/adults learning to drive!
Negative experience: I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Go Driving Academy for my daughter's Driver's Ed. She attended the class sessions on Saturdays, which did not interfere with her school schedule, but the driving portion has been a nightmare. There has been a complete lack of availability for months, with options only during school hours, which is unacceptable. I left multiple messages and sent emails but received no response. After calling four times in a row during business hours, I finally managed to speak to someone. Unfortunately, the woman who answered was incredibly rude and unapologetic. This kind of customer service is beyond unacceptable, especially when I was willing to pay for driving tutoring to ensure my daughter becomes a safe driver. I expected better from a driving academy, and I hope they can improve their communication and customer service for future students. It's frustrating to feel ignored and disrespected when all I wanted was the best for my daughter.
Negative experience: They don’t disclose anything in their website, they are actual scammers.
Fantastic experience: I purchased a package of tutoring sessions for my daughter and my daughter really enjoyed her tutor and felt confident going in to take her permit test. And now, I'm super excited to report that... my daughter has earned her learner's permit! I'm so grateful to the staff at Go Driving Academy. I had a lot going on in my personal life, back and forth between states for weeks and months at a time. They had no idea what was going on behind the scenes. But anytime my daughter needed to reschedule, they were accommodating and kind. I really appreciate their patience and grace throughout this entire process and I'm grateful that they were able to support her in achieving this milestone. I look forward to purchasing behind the wheel training from them to continue supporting my daughter's driving journey. Thank you, Go Driving Academy!
Fantastic experience: Good
Fantastic experience: Go Driving is a Great Academy that has the potential to empower you with safe driving skills and road/vehicle knowledge. You have the chance to learn about driver safety, road conditions, vehicle operations, and potential vehicle recovery methods in class. Lessons behind the wheel, you are taught the fundamentals of driving and how to be a safe driver. Then, you are taken out to higher traffic neighborhoods. After you show confidence and safety skills, you are taught many different forms of parking skills and how to navigate in different styles of traffic by recognizing road signs and how to properly lane change. Once you show those traits of safe driving, you are taught how to safely drive on windy, curvy, country roads, then how to correctly drive on the interstate. If you go through the course and grow in your skills through the process, you will become a better and much safer driver.
Fantastic experience: If you or your children want to learn how to drive safely and defensively , I highly recommend this driving school. I would like to thank Ms.Mary & Jessica for the flexible schedule , they will help you to find a schedule will fit you as long as you will tell them early, also to all the instructors Sir Tony and Chad & the rest of the Go Driving Family thank you, Now I can say I can drive safely and defensively with confidence because of the knowledge I learned in Go Driving Academy class.❤️
Fantastic experience: My daughter had a great experience, my son schedule was hard so the lady said she'd reschedule him but never did now they're not answering my calls or emails and I paid in full for my son lessons too. Just got off the phone with them and it was a big misunderstanding so he'll get his lessons
Fantastic experience: We had been driving with my daughter for months. She was still incredibly nervous about driving and we were very nervous as well. After the driving lessons with Tony she is now confident and ready to be on the road! They are very thorough and cover anything and everything your child needs to know to be a safe driver. Scheduling driving lessons can be difficult but they were accommodating and worked with our schedules. 100% recommend! My kid went from anxiety from driving in the neighborhood to driving on I 24! The peace of mind you get from knowing your kid is a tad more safe behind the wheel is priceless!
Fantastic experience: The instructors are so nice and patient. They truly helped with just 4 lessons. I would absolutely recommend going here, they go over the TN driving test so many times its impossible to fail truly. loved going here
Fantastic experience: We had a great first experience with our teenager who received her hardship license at 14 years old.
Fantastic experience: Currently taking the lessons, haven't done the driving part yet. I love the class, everybody's energetic and the teacher tries to make the class as fun as possible and still involving the lesson. I love it.
Fantastic experience: Such an amazing place, helped me prepare myself for my driving test, the driver instructors are super nice and helpful, they truly a blessing to help anyone get their license. Only went to 4 in door classes and 4 driving lessons that didn’t take long at all and was so easy there is no way you could fail unless you’re just stubborn.
Fantastic experience: Boosted the confidence not just for me as a parent but for my teenage drivers. Friendly staff! Would recommend everyone to go to this driving school when trying to get their license.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely recommend them to everyone. They are so kind and worked with me about my anxiety about driving. Such sweet people. All of the instructors are great but Jessica and Chad are truly angels. Go driving academy is honestly a great place. They were so willing and happy to help when they can. They’re good at communicating if anything changes. They make sure to tell you everything you need to know before hand you just need to read so you are mistaken on anything. I would recommend Go driving to everyone needing extra help to learn, relearn or even those like me with such terrible anxiety and bad experiences with driving. It has been a great experience.
Fantastic experience: My kiddo already had her permit when I enrolled her in the Go Driving Academy but she still took the classroom part of the school and the driving part. Chad was amazing with her (as well as Sam) and Jessica at the front desk answers any questions you have so that there is no confusion from start to finish! Super happy I chose Go Driving Academy!
Negative experience: How do you have a business where you have to pay to get a schedule for services. I cannot imagine this working in any other industry. ‘You would like to go on a trip, so you go to but a airline ticket only to be told that you have to buy the ticket before you know when flights are going to be available!’ And then are told no refunds, WFT?!?! This is an absolutely ridiculous way to do business.
Negative experience: If we could give a 0 we would. You have to pay in full before you are able to schedule. Schedule is full beyond 10 weeks out. Website indicates 4-6 weeks. ZERO refunds are given.
Fantastic experience: I attended the class sessions last year, but postponed my driving lessons until this year. They were great at helping me schedule classes. My instructor Wendy was awesome! I went from never even having turned on a car, to driving 70 mph on a highway in 4 days. She put my driving anxiety at ease and corrected any mistakes with patience and positive reinforcement.
Fantastic experience: Great staff, great instructors. My daughter greatly benefited from their driving courses and classroom instruction. Would recommend to all parents with their up and coming drivers. Definitely worth the money.
Negative experience: This is unequivocally the WORST experience I have ever had with any company. I paid almost 1k for eight lessons through Go Driving. I took a few classes in March and was told the rest of my classes I had PAID IN FULL for would be entirely scheduled in April. I then was told that April was entirely booked up and they’d have to revisit scheduling me in May. When I questioned why I was guaranteed April classes when they were all filled I was berated by a “part time” employee named Chad that works at Go Driving. This is one of the most disrespectful people I have ever spoken to. He talked over me, essentially blamed ME for the fact that THEY can’t schedule classes, and REFUSED to provide me a refund after failing to give me any insight as to when I would definitively be scheduled. Literally refusing to provide the services I PAID for and wouldn’t give me a refund for classes not taken. I was told by Chad they “don’t provide refunds”. So that should give you an idea of how this company operates… This company is extremely unprofessional and it’s no wonder they have trouble finding trainers to work for them. DO NOT schedule classes with this company, choose another! I’d leave negative stars but it’s not possible.
Fantastic experience: They are amazing people I got the confidence to get back on the road no issues at all in the car while getting that back very encouraging no negative at all! never thought I could ever parallel park and I did on the first try with help but it was still me behind the wheel and leaning new things form each instructor was amazing!
Negative experience: The program was okay. The in class sessions were informative and helped me so much. When I started on road practice I had to spend 3 of 4 sessions in the neighborhood because my instructor wouldn't really give me a chance to do other things. I struggled with perfecting my turns at first but I finally learned, but anytime I would ask my instructor about learning something new (parking and going on the main roads) it would be dismissed. My very last lesson was with a different instructor, Tony, who helped me the most and let me practice on the main roads. I finished the program not knowing how to park because I wasn't given that chance to learn from the first instructor I had. More lessons are expensive and I had already spent too much money on the program. I recommend the program but I don't recommend having Jamie as the instructor to teach you.
Fantastic experience: Best driving school, friendly, respectful and teaches you a lot
Fantastic experience: Great place to learn to drive
Negative experience: I was excited to start driving lessons in June but everything is way too expensive. The package driving lessons plus the 8hr courses were $600. There's no more available driving lessons in July and the first week of August is already all booked up. So that's almost two months without having the ability to practice driving . See how this can be a rabbit hole for some people . Just keep spending more and more money There's no lessons available for months. So good luck if this is your only way to practice driving because your lessons will be spaced apart by months. Incredibly frustrating and I was told I would have get 4 more lessons which is additional $300. Just know you're probably going to spend a fortune on 1hr driving lessons. They charge you if you show up late and they charge you if you're a no-show. More money to spend. For the amount of money I've spent on driving lessons. I could have already started saving up for a car. Can't see any appointments for the rest of August or September you're better off learning when school is in session so you can actually have a chance at learning something. Some people have to work full-time and pay bills and rent. Just know if you try to book now you'll never find anything available probably until the end of 2022. It's $75 per lesson. Some people aren't as fortunate to have someone to practice with outside of driving school or a vehicle available to them practice with. So as you can see in credibly frustrating when you have to spend $800 plus dollars just learning how to drive. They should have weekend availability as well because not everybody can come through the weekdays.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts it seems like you have some frustration with getting schedule for lessons and pricing. In regard to your post we at Go Driving we are concerned that we have no record of you being a student in rolled in on around June of 2022. Also the cost for the Driver's Education package was $450 not $600 as you quoted. Which leads us to ask the question if you are leaving your review at the correct Driving School? To help bring understanding to your post a few points that we can address, because we strive to help all our customer to have a safe and enjoyable experience. At the end of each of the 4 driving lessons that that come with the drivers Education Package for a total of 6hrs of driving (not 8hrs as you stated). Our instructors give you a detailed assessment of your progress on skills covered in that lesson. If a student struggles with new skills the instructor will stay in the same driving phase until the student can safely accomplish all task necessary safely and not move to the next set off driving skills. Example if a student can not safely make right and left turns with out hitting mailboxes in a Phase One lesson we are not going to let them drive on the Interstate on their next lesson which is a Driving skill in the Phase Four Lesson. And after four 90 minutes lessons if a student is not ready to pass the Tennessee driving Test Go Driving will give the student/parents the option to purchase additional lessons. Each student will progress at different pace in mastering new driving skills which is why it may cost more money to safely accomplish your goals of gaining new driving skills. In regards to booking lessons we stay book at least a month out in driving lessons and two to three months for classroom lessons due to Go Driving being in high demand in our region of middle Tennessee. We offer lessons from 8am to 8pm during the summer and 8am to 4:30 in the winter (due to safety for new driver not driving in the dark). We explain to customers, they should book their driving lessons on the first day of class to get access to the most availability of open lessons, but when students wait until the last day to book their lessons there is not as much choices open for lesson. We have made it easy for student s and parent to book their driving lessons by using the online student portal. We even email out any lesson cancellations which can be also schedule through the student portal. Thank you for your understanding and please drive safe.
Negative experience: I wish I could say something positive but I can’t. I got into a 5 vehicle car crash (100% my fault) after they gave me paper work to get my license. I was excited I didn’t have to go to the DMV for the road test after paying for the full course. But looking back now, had I had to do the road test with the DMV I would have totally FAILED! Thank God I’m still alive and no one was severely injured…. Parents please know just because you’re paying for your child to get driving lessons doesn’t mean it is adequate driving lessons. Stay safe out there.
There is a couple of problems with your review, 1) You were never a student at Go Driving, the State of Tennessee requires us to keep records of all students for auditing purposes, and you are not one of our past students. We have the proof. 2) All of our instructors take multiply State tests and go through training to be certified by the state of Tennessee, and our driving skills tests are audited by the state, Go Driving has to use the same test and criteria as the Driving Service Center, so basically our driving skills test are the same as the test at the Driving Service Center.
Positive experience: I have sent my own kids and know 11 others that have attended Go Driving Academy in Clarksville Tennessee. I have found the instructors and staff to be knowledgeable, polite and professional. The classroom instructions were well rounded. They included information that is in the Tennessee Driver's Manual, information on how to be a good / better driver and the things NOT to do when driving. Not everything on the actual Tennessee written exam will be quizzes or tested on during this course, as it is not known what will actually be on one, but the students took three quizzes and a final test during the four days of education that covered the basics. I suggest the student does not depend on what they were quizzes on at the academy, but study the actual manual, as the academy instructors have directed them to do. The only complaint I have is that it takes usually over a month before the students can schedule actual behind the wheel training. This is a bit ridiculous and why I gave 4 stars. I think the academy needs to cut down or stop taking in students that want both the in class and the behind the wheel training for a bit so they can catch up on them. I don't know their logistical numbers, but maybe differentiate the classroom instructions into ones for classroom only and ones for students that want both. Opening more seats for classroom only training and a bit less for those that want both would work to solve the problem. Thanks Go Driving Academy for coming to work and doing your job well.
Thank you for your review, we have been hiring and training more Driving Education Instructors to keep up with the demand and increase population of the Clarksville Region. It takes longer to hire and train instructors because of our high standard for safety and only accepting quality employees. We hope to have a shorter waiting list soon with the addition of new employees.
Negative experience: Don't text and drive in a company car while the light is green. Glad I had a horn to remind you how to drive! No student in the car thankfully
Thank you for your concern. We do not tolerate any of our instructors to text and drive. We also teach our students of the consequences of texting and driving.
All of our cars have GPS and cameras inside and outside, which allows us to monitor our vehicles. At the the time (and around the time) of your post all of our vehicles have students and instructors in them. We often have people mistake a student as an instructor because about half of our customers are adults learning to drive. It can be difficult to tell how many people are in a car when you are behind them at a light.
We ask the public to have patience with our students as they are leaning to drive, many are slow driving and slow at lights and intersection because they are working on their skills and confidence. Blowing your horn at them doesn't help student drivers and their anxiety.
If you would contact our office at 931-802-5467 with the time and location of your encounter with our vehicle it can help us address your claim and concerns.
Thank you - Go Driving Management.
Fantastic experience: These people care and can teach anyone with or without any learning disabilities. When I first got behind the wheel before the lessons I was scarred to touch the wheel and now I can drive confidentially.
Thank you, it was a honor to help you learn to drive.
Fantastic experience: Courteous, Friendly, and Decent Rates
Positive experience: I need get CDL
Negative experience: I enrolled my son through the academy for the month of March, Saturdays only. He needed it because of his learning disability. It was a great learning experience for him. I helped him study hard for his permit and so today I took him to take his permit test and that's where things went downhill for me. First of all, when I say I helped him study, I mean we studied a little everyday after school and some during the weekends. Anyways, it took my son more than an hour to complete the written test and that's because I told him to take his time. He also said that most of it was different from what he took at the academy. He has never encountered those questions or anything close to it when he went to the academy. Anyways, I got the opportunity to actually see the written test to see which ones he made mistakes on and he was right. What I saw on the test was not even close to what we studied in preparation for it. Everything that your daughter or son needs to know is in the book. I highly recommend studying more about right of way and alcohol sections. Also study up on the signs. You will come to learn that failing the permit test is okay because it will tell you specifically the areas that your child needs to study up on.
Thank you for your reply, and giving us a chance to help teach your student to drive. We tell students the 1st day of class that we can't as the same questions verbatim as they are presented at the TN Driving License Center, for obvious reasons. All our questions for our practice test come from the TN Drivers License Manual, which also has practice question in it after each section. Because of TN state regulation for Driving Schools we have to teach from the manual as part of our curriculum. Our goal in teaching is not for the students to memorize answers to only regurgitate the answers, but instead we teach the concepts behind the answers, that way no matter the form the question is phrased on the knowledge test, the student understands the concepts as to why it is the correct answer. We have also found that this form of teaching helps students become a more safe and defensive driver. We also stress to the student to study and focus on sections on Alcohol in the TN Drivers Manual, because many fail the Knowledge Test because of not knowing this section. In the Classroom we spend 8 of the 30 hours on alcohol, the effects, the consequences, and the penalties, because the number one cause of death for Teens in Tennessee, year after year, is car crashes, with almost 50 percent of those crashes being Alcohol related.
Negative experience: Almost got hit by this driving instructor. I would not hire him ever! Edit: We were exiting a parking lot when the driver (who was alone in the car so it was not a student) almost hit us while we were pulling out by turning in too quickly. A driving company should hire people who drive responsibly all the time not just when they students in their car.
All of our cars have GPS and inside and out side cameras. We monitor our cars when both students and instructors are driving. We do not allow our instructors to be careless in in their driving which includes years back ground and Motor Vehicle Reports pulled and verified. If you we to see an instructor doing something you think is unsafe please call our office so we can verify your claim by pulling the video and make any corrections that are needed.
Negative experience: Got behind this guy on the road at 6pm so I assume it wasn't a student. He drives 10+ under the speed limit and rides his brakes 90% of the times. I wouldn't want my child learning from this idiot.
We drive from 8am to 8pm so this was a student that you were tail-gating. Please be patient with our students as they are leaning to drive and many have fears that they are learning to over come.
Negative experience: This driving school claims that it works around your schedule, that's if you can even schedule an appt....I've been trying for a couple months to get a 1 hour class and they give me the run around. They try to get you to pay for the $300.00 course and never have instructor's available for the $40.00 1hour course.
During the Summer months we are booked out all summer due to many teens being out of school and trying to get their drivers license.
Positive experience: My son had no driving experience before taking this course and that was told to the school. I would ask the driving instructors how my child was doing after each driving session and they would tell me he was doing well. After the course, he was given the documentation to go to DMV to get his driver's license. After driving with him, I realized he was not ready to have a driver's license. He still lacked the driving skills needed to pass at the DMV. If he had taken the test at the DMV, I'm pretty sure he would have failed it.
Fantastic experience: Awesome Program!! The instructors were NOT ONLY professional, thorough, and patient; everything they taught (in class and driving) was relevant to becoming a SAFE DRIVER. The only way someone would not pass is if they had their head buried in their cell phone, did not study, and just completely did not paying attention in class. On a different note, the students in the class I attended were an assortment of cultures! It was also very interesting to learn about different cultures while we had breaks. I would recommend this class to anyone who needed to learn how to drive.
Fantastic experience: We had a great experience with Go!! Our daughter thought out would be a "yawner" and was not thrilled about giving up Saturdays for classes but really liked them and the creative way they shared the material. She learned a lot and was glad it wasn't just regurgitation of a driver's manual. She really liked her driving instructor,Sue. Our daughter was super nervous before the first "on road" but that lasted just a few minutes. Sue made her feel very comfortable behind the wheel and made sure she got a variety of driving experiences and gave her time to feel comfortable and ask questions about different situations. She went the extra mile (pardon the pun) to make sure she felt ready to hit the road on her own when ready. We have referred several friends to Go without hesitation.
