Fantastic experience: Professional, kind, and extremely knowledgeable! Couldn’t be happier!

Fantastic experience: Tester was very nice. Most reviews are old, there is a different owner now and driving testers who are extremely nice!

Fantastic experience: Decent place she is a good teacher she'll give you things you need to work on if you fail and when you go to take it your second time just work on the stuff you failed on and you'll pass great teacher five star

Fantastic experience: My daughter completed her test this last weekend, She was completely at ease. The instructor was friendly, courteous and prompt. Definitely recommend to others needing to test.

Fantastic experience: We had the best experience with the road test this driving school offers. The instructor was extremely friendly, patient, and informative. We will be using them again for our next two upcoming drivers!

Fantastic experience: Was a little nervous to use this company since the reviews are bad, but we called Wednesday to set up an appointment and was immediately scheduled for Saturday at 11:15. When we showed up, the instructor was very friendly and patient with my daughter. There is not one thing negative that I could say about this company or the instructor. Not sure why they have bad reviews but I would recommend them. It’s probably the parents of the kids that are poor drivers that are leaving the bad reviews because they are mad that their kids failed.

Fantastic experience: Couldn’t of asked for a better driving instructor. Not sure how these negative reviews came about lady is very reasonable and seems to treat you accordingly to how you treat her and act.

Kimber Thompson 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: Very professional. Phone calls were returned, my road test was scheduled ASAP and the test itself was held on a bitter cold day, but the qualifier was super friendly and professional. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: Very rude. This is not the actual address anymore.

Negative experience: Took my test here and was failed before I even did the road portion.. i was told I was 1 foot away from the line and that equated out to 7 points! Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone I feel as if the lady is only out for money. When I set up my appointment I was told to meet her at 11am but when I got there was told she never said 11 but actually 12:15.. it was DEFINITELY 11 am but apparently she “doesn’t schedule for 11am” waited around for over an hour just to be failed in the first 2 minutes.. do yourself a favor and take your money elsewhere!

Negative experience: I would give 0 stars if I could. Lady was rude and condescending. She is only there for money. I would definitely not recommend anybody use her in the future. 8/12/21

Negative experience: My son did great in the parking lot, then she took him out on the road. They came back within 20 minutes and she failed him. She refused to tell my husband anything because my son is 18. When I asked my son what happened he said " I went 1 mph over the speed limit" When I called to talk to her I asked what happened she instantly got rude and told me she couldn't tell me because he is grown! I said why would you fail my son for barely going over the speed limit and she started getting extremely rude and loud telling me he was going 14 mph over! I have rode with my son the last 30 days and he has never went that much over, may be 3-5 over NEVER almost 15 over! This lady is the most rude unprofessional person I have ever dealt with! She is just out to take your money. I should have listened to the reviews online.

Fantastic experience: I was a little worried after reading the reviews about using this driving school but I'm glad I did. Susie was great. I would recommend this business.

Grace Snyder 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: I'm an incredibly anxious driver and was VERY nervous for this test, but the examiner (Susan) made me feel comfortable and almost made me forget I was taking a test at all. She chatted with me throughout the drive, was very understanding and fair, and really seems to want you to pass and become a better driver. Her instructions were clear and given well in advance and I was never confused about what I was supposed to be doing. I would highly recommend this place. I had a great experience!

Fantastic experience: nice instructor. Made her expectations very easy to understand. Daughter felt at ease while taking test. Would recommend this school for taking your final driving test.

Fantastic experience: Took the MI road test through this company today. This IS the exact type of experience you want from a driving school. Professional, knowledgeable, and in the business of putting safe drivers on the road! I only wish that I would've put my daughter through the entire school curriculum instead of another company. I feel that she would've been a stronger driver from the beginning if I had. Instructions were clear and I could tell that Sharon really wanted to ensure that my daughter understood all instructions and how to properly and safely follow the rules of the road. Wonderful experience. Recommend this company without reservations.

Negative experience: Sharon was the rudest hag I’ve ever met, she failed me on basic skills and didn’t even let me drive on the road. Worst $50 I ever spent. If there was such a thing as negative stars, she would get them. Hope she sees this too.

Kim Reason 5 years ago

Fantastic experience: The instructor was kind, calm and helpful. We have had two children take their driving test through Andrew Phillips. I was concerned based on the reviews but had a positive experience with both children 2 years apart.

Jess Hazen 5 years ago

Negative experience: This disgusting old woman will fail you for literally anything to make more money she’s extremely condescending and rude the fact that she’s even allowed to teach people it’s appalling I do not recommend this place anyone. If I could give a rating less than one stars I would.

Negative experience: The test administrator lady... Was extremely impatient.... I would not recommend this place to nobody

T. Ryan Keough 5 years ago

Fantastic experience: No problems - she helped get my son scheduled in after another testing provider cancelled at the last minute. I will definitely bring my other kids here for their testing.

Candy Griffin 5 years ago

Fantastic experience: My son took his test in August here. Sharon was awesome. She gave my son a few tips and told him what he did right and wrong.

Josh Flynn 6 years ago

Negative experience: Took the test and passed but the woman made me feel really stressed and not easy going at all. Her mood swiched instantly. Woudnt reccomend.

Negative experience: I would not recommend anyone use this place and I am sure glad I found out before I paid. I called the number listed in an attempt to schedule my sons road test. The Owner called me back several hours later and did not even announce who they were when she called or where she was calling from, I just happened to recognize the number from when I called earlier. I then explained I was trying to schedule a road test and she asked me what MY schedule was. When I tried to explain that it would be better for me to fit into her schedule she became very irritated and frustrated with me. She did offer up Saturday and I said that the time she had available wouldnt work. Then she said I guess I have a cancellation on a Tuesday you could have. I said I'd take it and will try to make it work. Well, apparently that was bad as she she must have 100% confirmation. Well, I am one who would cancel with notice if needs be, but she wasnt having it. So I will take my business elsewhere, as this business isn't customer friendly.

Fantastic experience: Just took my test a couple days ago and passed. Sharon was a very nice woman and professional. If I was doing something a little wrong or needed to change something, she would be sure to tell me what it was, so I could fix it. She was never mean, just fair.

Rebecca Warman 6 years ago

Negative experience: I asked a question she didn't like and I've never seen someone's demeanor change so drastically in an instant. Became extremely unesccesarily rude and unprofessional. Believe the reviews, she only has one star for a reason! Save your money and go elsewhere!

Todd Schurig 6 years ago

Negative experience: Most intimidating, condescending person I've encountered in ages. I rode with my daughter in her test... She drove fine, safely executing stops, turns, parking. She was failed for "speed". On the 69 entrance ramp she was dinged for going only 37 mph before the final curve of the ramp. Then dinged for exceeding 70 as she was trying to merge into traffic that was going 75. Then again for speeding up to merge onto I-94. I don't know what world this woman lives in, but if you don't get up to the speed of the flow of traffic when merging onto the freeway you will cause an accident. What a waste of time and money. Do. Not. Go. Here.

Fantastic experience: This driving academy is great. Sharon is very helpful. Come test time she is tough but fair. The last thing any parent wants is an uneducated driver on the road. Know your stuff and you will do great.

Marco Lang 7 years ago

Fantastic experience: She was a very fair and nice instructor.

Negative experience: I went back and forth about writing a review for this driving school, but after taking my Driving test with a different driving school and explaining to them the set up this school had and watching how the course is really suppose to be set up it was easy for me to decide that other's need to know about the school and YOUR rights as a driving student "18 and older" And No I am not someone who wants to write a bad review because this women failed me, but I was failed for her own opion of me and not my driving skills, If I felt I failed for my mistakes and I wasn't smart enough to bring a witness with me then this review would not be posted, I was a lot like everyone else and thought these reviews were angry people who failed, but this lady is really sweet on the phone but after you hand her the money she changes and is not as nice as you would think. So for one I will start off with what happened at her "Driving school" with forward stop line she said that I needed to get my tires as close to the line as possible "Which the book states that you are to be within 2 feet of the line and when I did that she tried to tell me I went over it, while in the middle of the test which was not correct since I brought someone with me because I had heard of her practices and even my witness told her that was not true. But you know I shrugged it off and tried to continue with the basic skill part of the test "Even tho I was more nervous now since she felt it was right to tell me every mistake she thought I did not according to the book but according to her during the test. Then with the parallel parking she did NOT messaure my car. The space she said for me to do that in was set up for something that was way smaller then my car and when I realized that I tried to ask her and to show me "The secatary of state and other driving place I attended and PASSED said that was the law and we as the people paying have a right to see her do it since the book clearly states that there is suppose to be 6 extra feet according to your car size! She didn't move the cones one time and not to mention this course is set up in way to small of a setting. If you think this is just another person mad cause she failed them then so be it. Try it for yourself. But I will say I took this course and honestly was failed cause I questioned the cones with the parallel parking due to the back end of my car could get in there but was IMPOSSIBLE for the front end to get in the SMALL space. I am not out to hurt anyone's business I just don't want others to get taken for there money and to know there rights. I am upset that I lost $50 to this place that was very unfair she had me failed before I even got there and was late herself also. But hey as long as others are aware that she is unfair and as long as others know they have the right to question her with out her being able to fail you that's all that I am wanting people to be aware of. HER REVIEWS ARE TRUE AND NOT WRITTEN CAUSE PEOPLE WERE FAILED. Honestly even if she passed me I would of wrote the same 1 star review! This lady needs more training and or to just shut down. Her name is well know ALL OVER from Marshall to Jackson, battle creek, Albion, and beyond as the person who fails almost everyone to make money and only passes certan people! Not to mention when I was questioning about the cones and she said "well you fail" she just walked away with out telling me how I could improve or anything, which again the LAW STATES the test instructors are suppose to tell you that if you pass OR fail. She just walked away with a big smirk and ignored me because she already got what she wanted a FREE $50! I am sure with more training maybe she will understand this job is no joke and that failing people cause she wants to is not the right way to go. I will not recomend this school to anyone EVER!!!!!

Fantastic experience: Took my final drive through here. Very friendly! My cousin also did to and had a wonderful experiance!

Bryan Wilson 8 years ago

Negative experience: Totally a horrible business... if you have a check engine light on you will fail. If your car smokes a little bit you can't use it. They will take your money, fail you for engine light, then ask when you want to pay again and re schedule. Seems like a total scamming company...

Negative experience: DO NOT GO THROUGH ANDREW PHILLIPS She is very unperfessional and rude she doesn't know what she is doing and sucks at her job You make one mistake and you fail the test she's annoying and keep saying stuff over and over to make you fail on purpose. Andrew Phillips suck. So go through someone else

Negative experience: DO NOT USE ANDREW PHILLIS SCHOOL OF DRIVING. Very rude! Goes out of her way to fail you so she can make more money!! Go to Star Truck Rentals. They are very professional!!. She needs to be put out of business!

Negative experience: Would not recomend anyone to this place. The woman was rude and gave bad vibes.

Jessi Fountain 9 years ago

Negative experience: Very disappointed in the lack of professionalism. Was rudely informed we must have cash, information which was not shared on the phone, then that we could use a check but would have to wait for it to clear before a certificate would be issued. The instructor told my daughter she needed to relax repeatedly.... This is a test that is set up in a way they do not practice in drivers training!!!! We will be going elsewhere to repeat the the road test!!

Hope Eternal 9 years ago

Negative experience: My child screamed, jumped out of the car at K-Mart and ran all the way home. Why? Because my daughter has anxiety issues and the teacher kept repeating, "Don't be nervous" a lot of times. That served to make my daughter more nervous. To make matters worse, she scolded my daughter severely and told her in graphic language what coulda, shoulda, mighta, happened at every misstep in the K-Mart parking lot. My daughter is sensitive and safety is important to her. The scolding was overload to say the least. Finally, when she could take the nagging no longer, she jumped out of the car and ran home. That was about three years ago. My daughter has not wanted to get behind the wheel of a car since. She is 19 years old now, I am just now able to get her to consider looking into considering another driving agency. What a total jerk. Some people respond well to nagging nd horror stories---others develop PTSD and never go back. Responsible people get very freaked out at the constant nagging. Plus---she charged us the entire cost of the course even thought we only went two weeks. She used copies of text. We had to give the copies back. What did we get for close to four hundred dollars of investment PTSD!!!! Unnecessary anxiety. Stay away. GO ANYWHERE ELSE! PAY ANYTHING ELSE!!! THE TRAUMA AND THE PTSD IS NOT WORTH IT!!!! SOMEONE WHO IS A COMPLETE NAG AND HORRROR SHOW ENTHUSIAST SHOULD NOT TEACH DRIVING LESSONS. I SAY THAT WITH ALL DUE RESPECT. DONT SUBJECT YOU KID TO THIS. ANYONE TOO CHEAP TO HAVE ORIGINAL MATERIALS THAT PEOPLE CAN KEEP AND TAKE HOME IS JUST TOO DARN CHEAP. THAT SAYS IT ALL CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP!!!!! I don't like cheap; I don't like nags; I don't like petty. The goal is to educate responsible drivers. This person is irresponsible and has no concept of how to teach. For what she charges, she should give original materials out. What could go wrong Students might become good drivers, learn the rules and pass it on???/ Oh my, what a disaster. What a money-grubbing person that cannot see the forest for the trees. My advice is GO---NO RUN---SOMEPLACE ELSE----ANYPLACE ELSE IS BETTER THAN THIS PLACE.

Negative experience: That B**** made my daughter cry. Didn't even give her a chance. Handed her the wrong registration she failed her and kept the $50!

Negative experience: While I was taking my driving test woman told me to drive back to her parking lot 10 minutes into the test said I didn't go into the turn lane quick enough, mind you she told me to go back to the parking lot right as I was about to put on my turn signal. They wrongfully ended my test and basically stole over $50 from me. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILD HERE GO TO ALBION OR BATTLE CREEK DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS PATHETIC EXCUSE OF A DRIVING TEACHER

Chrissy S 12 years ago

Negative experience: Made my child cry the on her first drive. Yelled and said she was going to slow in a parking lot. This was her first time ever driving a car. Same thing when they got on the road, instructor yelled , my child was in tears the rest of the day and did not want to ever drive a car again. The clasroom materials are worse. Classroom books are just various copied papers put in a binder. You cannot find any of the informaiton for the homework in the book they give you. Very sloppy and poorly put togther. They also make you sign a paper that says they can charge you 25$ if your child does not wear sneakers to drive, and 500$ if the school car gets scratched. If you question any of it the lady always replies "Its the law" . Really? its the law I have to give you $25 if my child does not wear sneakers? Is that Federal or a State law ? Geeze. I have seen and heard several other complaints from parents in the area about the instructor yelling at kids. Sloppy and unprofessional.
