Positive experience: Overall, this was a good driver’s ed experience for me. It taught me all the essentials. However, I feel that some thing could have been explained better and more thoroughly, and the online program used for the virtual class was not very good. Something like Zoom or Teams would have been better.

Positive experience: Classroom education and instructor knowledge is great. Communication and scheduling need a bit of work!

Negative experience: Rude and unhelpful. I would suggest finding an alternative.

Negative experience: Do not send your child to this program, you will waste your time and money doing so!!

Fantastic experience: I just passed my road test today ON MY FIRST TRY at 32 years old! I had terrible driving anxiety, but I passed because of the valuable knowledge and coaching I received from DESoMD. I had my classroom drivers ed. with Mr Coleman, and he poured his heart and energy into making sure everyone leaves the class with everything they need and more when it comes to being a safe and effective driver. Mr. Robertson coached me in my Behind-the-wheel training and I couldn’t believe how quickly I progressed and how much confidence I gained from being taught by him. I had to book a behind the wheel session at short notice due to my husband leaving for months, so I had to take the road test earlier than planned, and Mr. Robertson did not hesitate to make arrangements for me to be able to practice with him a day before my test. He made sure I was ready and he taught me EVERYTHING I needed to learn to pass my test. It was an absolute pleasure to learn from the best, and they all sincerely wish for all their students to succeed. Thank you very much for literally changing my life and giving me the freedom to drive myself. I highly recommend Drivers Ed of Southern Maryland!

Negative experience: Customer service was very disrespectful, owner does not take ownership, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!!

Fantastic experience: This is one of the BEST driving school I’ve ever been too. The teacher Mr Coleman he is very good at teaching his craft! And Mr Robinson he is a very GREAT driving instructor. I definitely would recommend this driving school because they are the best at what they do. I got my Drivers licenses thanks to them & of course God but I really want to thank these guys so much

Fantastic experience: Just wanted to take a quick second to say thank you for helping Dylan get his drivers license. I sat in on the first class and was impressed, and Dylan came home everyday with new information and something he enjoyed about the class that day. It’s not easy to get through to teens sometimes, but you all seem to do an amazing job. I’d also like to say that we appreciate the quickness with which Dylan was able to get his three BTW sessions in, it allowed him to keep his previously scheduled appointment at the MVA, where he passed his driving test on the first try, with no deductions! Fantastic experience: Mr. Cole is a very intelligent man. He has a lot of experience and knowledge of different vehicles and even has a CDL licence. He really cares about young kids and teaches them the dangers that are out there on the road. He's funny and makes jokes to lighten up the atmosphere. But I really suggest you choose this school. Your children are in good hands!

Fantastic experience: This school is fantastic! Mr. Coleman is extremely knowledgeable and clearly passionate about educating new drivers. He communicated the curriculum clearly and with a touch of humor that helped calm jittery nerves. Mr. Robertson was my instructor for most of the behind the wheel portion of the class and displayed the same level of knowledge and passion as Mr. Coleman. I highly recommend this school to all new drivers!

Fantastic experience: I went here around three months ago. I would recommend this school to anyone who seeks to learn the rules of the road. The instructors really put passion and care into their work and do their best to explain and teach you. They want you to pass and that is what I liked about this school. If you are willing to learn then you bound to pass.

Fantastic experience: Great driving school—I learned a lot! The instructors were nice and patient. You can tell they genuinely care. They don’t just want to move you through the course, they want you to know that YOU know what you’re doing. I would definitely recommend this driving school.

Fantastic experience: Such a great school. I can’t believe people would rate this so poorly based on Mr. Coleman having a slight stutter. There was a never a time where i couldn’t understand him. He was super funny and very laid back. Mr. Robertson & Mrs. Custer were also very friendly and super helpful. I loved this school!

Negative experience: The Worst Customer Services I Have Ever Encountered!!! Do not go to this establishment!!! Not only was the guy I talked to extremely rude but then when I got off the phone with him he called me back to harass me. If I could give this rating a negative star I would.

Fantastic experience: This is absolutely the best driving school there is.. the 3 instructors are down to earth people and are very good at explaining things even things that you don't even need to kno very skilled drivers with ton of experience I would recommend everyone to come to this wonderful establishment best place to learn please come here it's awesome

Fantastic experience: All 3 instructors were very INFORMATIVE & DILIGENT, on teaching us as new drivers how to remain as safe as possible while on the HTS(Highway transportation system). I can’t reiterate it enough on how PATIENT & WILLING they were , to assist us with every question or concern we had , as well as their level of EAGERNESS & DEVOTION into getting us students to understand the curriculum. I completed all my classes with MORE than enough information, in order for me to be a safe driver .

Fantastic experience: Great place to learn because of their long careers and the knowledge that comes with it. Occasional jokes help make it fun and price is good. They teach everything that needs to be taught and even things that aren't but should be.

Fantastic experience: Both of my boys went through this drive school. The instructors are wonderful, the class options include both day and evening classes and the instructors work with your schedule for the BTW (behind the wheel) required driving. They will go as far as to pick teenagers up from the high school for their drive time. As a mom, I loved that I was encouraged to sit through the class time if I wanted as well as ride along on the BTW lessons. I'm not from MD so I actually learned a lot about state regulations while riding along. I would recommend this drive school. The instructors care and it shows.

Fantastic experience: This driving school is great, the instructor's are friendly and understanding and they'll teach you everything you'll need to know on how to drive smart and safe on the roads. When doing the behind the wheel lessons, they'll teach you how to drive and it's okay to ask questions because they're there to help you. They're experienced drivers and they'll make sure that you'll pass your driver's test. This is the best school that I can reccommend on students who wants reliable help and knowledge about driving on the road, so give this school a try and if you're determined and motivated, you'll ace your driver's skills test!

Fantastic experience: I took Drivers Ed at this location and my experience was wonderful. I suspect the other reviews are outliers but I had no issue getting in contact with the school by phone and they were always quick to answer my questions. The instructors really care about the students and the class was always well maintained and attentive. I highly recommend this place.

Negative experience: Wow, just called them to ask a question and was met with immediate impatience and rudeness. The guy rudely asked "What is it that you want?!" Then when he couldn't figure out what I meant he hung up. When I called back he hung up again as soon as he realized it was me again. They need a customer service overhaul, to put it nicely. *Updated this review to make grammar corrections*

Negative experience: The instructor is purposefully vague and unprofessional. He treats the students differently when the other instructors are present. His appearance is unkempt. The first day of class his personal or business phone rang continually. The second day he gave the class an extended break so he could make phone calls. This caused the class to run over by 45 minutes. I am a parent of a student in the class and I am taken a back by their teaching methods. They do not teach MVA law. They inject their personal opinion.They tell the children that they can violate the traffic laws if they feel it's common sense to do so. When I questioned that answer given I was told that if you get a ticket just go to court and fight it. It is my opinion that I have wasted my $360.00. If you can take your child to another class I recommend that you do...... To update my review when the instructor read my review he told who he called "His lady" to give him his check and get him out of here! So as a closing if you provide criticism to the instructor that he deems as negative he is rude and removes your child from the class. What ever happened to the old adage that the customer is always right. I do however want to take the opportunity to point out that the the in car driving instructors are very professional and personable. This business would do so much better if they got rid of the in class instructor.

Positive experience: I was really happy with the education my son received here. There are no bells and whistles to the facility and respect for authority is required. They expect students to be on time, responsible, pay attention, etc. This is appropriate. The instruction was thorough and complete. Their goal is to train solid drivers who know their vehicle, the laws and how to follow them, and safe driving. They have a steady plan for training that resulted in a solid driver. I will be bringing all of my sons through their program.

Negative experience: Don't go here, if you have a choice. I waited 4 weeks for a call back, and never received it. They never answer the phone, either. Their classes are 18 weeks apart and they have no apologies if they mess up. Not to mention that the wait list alone for the behind the wheel training is longer than the Mississippi river. I never received a confirmation email and had to sign up all over again, missing the start date of the only class within the first month. I would never have had this issue if they had sent me an email, answered the phone, or called me back. I am now stuck, as active duty military without a license, until July for a class. DO NOT GO WITH THIS BUSINESS, GO WITH COLLEGE OF SOUTHERN MARYLAND!

Fantastic experience: Over all a good school! If you participate in class, listen to what your instructors are telling you behind the wheel, and stay engaged, they will work with you! Give respect, receive respect. You will become an educated driver with this school.

Negative experience: I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DRIVING SCHOOL .. The instructor is VERY VERY IGNORANT, UNPROFFESSIONAL THERE IS NOTHING NICE ABOUT HIM ! Please do not go here if I could rate zero stars I would .. He was rude to his student which is my boyfriend so I went in to try to get him to explain to me and as soon as I came him he was very disrespectful to me ... Please do not go here

Negative experience: This is the absolute worst drivers ed course in Southern MD. Being there are not a lot of choices, Mr. Coleman is extremely rude and disrespectful. He is inappropriate when instructing the course as well. If you have any choice in selecting a school choose the college!!

Negative experience: Whack school. The instructor is extremely unprofessional, had a speech impediment making it difficult to understand him and even made and sexually inappropriate comment when I registered my son. Would not recommend this school to anyone.

Negative experience: If you can go elsewhere... PLEASE DO!!! The owner of the company is rude and the way they run business is completely unprofessional. My son completed his class the end of January and here it is March 11th and he has yet to get his 2nd of 3 behind the wheel drives. They e-mailed me a tentative date of 3/1 with no time. I e-mailed them and still did not receive a phone call back. When I called again, he raised his voice at me, got smart with me and hung up on me twice. Not only that, but when he was teaching the class he took several breaks throughout training to smoke (the smell gave my son headaches), he was very hard to understand and the class was very slow... I know because I about died waiting to get through the first class that was required of the parents. My oldest son participated in Drivers Ed in Waldorf and had an awesome experience... his drives were completed within 2 weeks of his completion of the class. Just be prepared to wait a rather long time to get your drives in... and also be prepared to deal with a rude instructor.
